To know thyself is to protect thyself. Isn’t narcissism just a more multi-faceted form of paranoia? It’s fear that drives one to achievement and control.

I am curious how it is that you feel superior to others when you are deceiving them right off the bat. For example, if I meet you and told you I have three brothers when, in reality, I have one sister, how does that make me superior to you? Anyone could be at an advantage if they chose to deceive. You are the only one aware of the rules so that’s an unfair playing field. Vulnerability is not that hard to detect in anyone, but most people do the right thing. So why not use your high social IQ for good? I understand you find no value in it, it doesn’t serve you but why can’t you gain your sense of superiority by serving others. Getting satisfaction knowing you are making others happy. You clearly have a keen sense of what makes people tick so why not do good. Do you feel sadism plays a part in what you experience? Borem? What is it that drives you?

Hello Ellen, the fact you lie about having three brothers when you have a sister would not be regarded as something to feel superior about unless of course I said I had one brother and you were seeking to trump me that way. It would be more about increasing earnings, number of friends, size of house, recent academic achievements, status at work and so forth which are either invented or embellished dependent on the type of narcissist.
I understand the point you are making but my mind set is such that I am not here to serve others, they are here to serve me. Yes one can gain some fuel from making other people happy, but only so far in that this is as a consequence of being in my gift and at my control, not because I am obliged or beholden to do it. Sadism has some part to play in it, but what drives me is the need for fuel and the fear of being without fuel. That is at the root of everything.

Tudor- Have you ever taken the MBTI personality test, just wondering what result you got…..

    1. HG Tudor says:

I felt like I was at school then, Kathy! Have you taken it?
