The Eyes Have It
The eyes are one of our powerful weapons. I hear so many comments made about my eyes.
“I saw the world in your eyes.”
“Everything I ever wished for, I could see in your eyes.”
“I’ve never known anyone give much such a malevolent stare.”
“You are dead behind the eyes.”
“That hollow look you give me, chills me inside.”
“Your reptilian, empty stare always unnerved me.”
When we first engage with you, we are able to reflect back at you want you desperately want. Hope, optimism, desire and trust are all mirrored in our eyes. Do not be mistaken and think that we generate those looks. We do not. All we are doing is ensuring that you see what you want to see in order to ensnare you. This mirroring serves two purposes. Firstly, it shows you what you crave for and makes us all the more attractive to you. Secondly, it masks the empty void that truly exists. Whilst my kind and me learn how to behave and act, we mimic the way in which we are expected to respond in the most favourable manner, we do not truly feel any of those things and we cannot generate it in our eyes. Everything else we are able to simulate – the laugh, the smile, the look of surprise, the intonation of elation in our voices. We have carefully crafted these facsimiles of your emotions but managing to do so in our eyes has always eluded us. We cannot fall at the first hurdle however and have you see through our charade. Accordingly, we have managed to master the mirroring technique. You want that love and hope so badly you will see it in us when you are really just seeing yourself. We hold your gaze for longer than anyone else. You are conned into thinking this just demonstrating the intensity of our desire for you. It is not. We must look directly into your eyes to shine back at you that which you send towards us. Should we look way, the reflection may fail and we must always have you in our eye.
As with all of our pretence we are unable to maintain this deceit for long. The mirror breaks and the shards of reflection fall away leaving the chasm of emotionlessness behind. The barren hinterland beyond our eyes is all that is left, bereft of anything at all. That is why in the later stages you will see nothing when you look at us. We cannot generate those real emotions and our mirror has now failed. Our real gaze is all that is left, cold, empty and lifeless. People often remark about how the eyes are the window to the soul. Our soul left long ago and that is why you look into dead, uncaring eyes. Even though our mouth is upturned in a smile, the crows feet at the sides crease and the brow rises, our eyes betray us. Glacial and sterile they show the reality of what we are; devoid of positive emotion and spiritually bankrupt.
All that we are able to muster is hatred. Our loathing of this unjust world is so intense that it will break through when we wish to direct that hatred against you. That is when the emptiness vanishes and instead you are subjected to our laser-like, pinpoint accurate malevolent stare. I mentioned in the recollection about the cookie jar, how I had practised my withering stare one summer. This is the precursor to our malice, our antipathy and our scorn. With consummate ease we will call on it to intimidate you and signal our contempt for you. It is powerful, unwavering and unsettling. To be on the receiving end of our hateful stare is not a pleasant experience. We muster such power with our eyes, to seduce you and then to break you, but the reality is that we only have three settings. The mirror, the void and the hatred. There is nothing else. That is all that our eyes have.

When you can’t believe the soulless are soulless it is just because you are still projecting your own self onto them. I have spent almost 5 years with mine. I am spiritually gifted. I see signs and synchronicities happen all the time that tell me the deeper meaning of things and the truth even when I’m fed lies and it is true that some are soulless. It’s true. Two forces in the universe and they are just like blackholes and we are stars or light. They suck off the light from a star and consume it. I’ve seen sign after sign relating to evil, the devil and men or monsters wearing hoods with their face blacked out. It’s a path to hell. Too late for me…. By the time I realized any of what was going on it was too late. My question more remains did you start out with one and if so, what happened?
This is so very fascinating about the three settings: Mirroring, Void, or Hate. Yes, it makes so much sense.
I remember my mother’s beautiful brown eyes turning black as night when she was angry.
Do you really believe you have no soul? There is a school of thought out there that suggests that narcissists / sociopaths / psychopaths etc are actually possessed by demons. I have bought a book about this, but I haven’t read it yet. I read something yesterday that said people with ASPDs are descendants of Cain who was actually the child of Satan. I don’t know about the supernatural side of all of that, but it is interesting to talk about.
As I mentioned in an earlier comment Passiel, the concept of a soul, not having one, stealing others, is part of the embellishment which comes with the portrayal of what we are. Yes I have had it said to me on a few occasions that I am possessed by demons. A demonic force perhaps, which again, is just another way of describing a behaviour.
I suppose sometimes we humans need to explain things in a supernatural way to make sense of it.

I saw it a few times with my ex. It seems to be true that when you reject a narc they want you dead. Before the divorce it was just hate at times. During it, it was evil. Have you ever wished someone to be so permanently gone? I heard that narcs will hate that you know that about them. That makes me feel the power for once. Sorry. Im really not mean. Im of course an empath.
No. There may be a temporary pronouncement of wanting the earth to swallow you whole which forms part of the devaluation and/or discard but I do not wish any of my appliances to permanently go, I want them to always be around so I can continue to extract fuel from them.

This one has lefted me speechless. I am sorry and my heart breaks for you and your kind. To be lefted empty of all but hatred, yes the eyes always tell, yet there is always a root cause. Something started you down this path, do you know what started you HG?

You know that now well known image of the four year old boy that survived bombing in Aleppo? His eyes…..they broke my heart. These are the same eyes. Vacant, numb. The traumatized child. My ex had the gray vacant stare that could chill. He previously served in military and I wondered how much was complex ptsd and how much was the lost boy due to his Matrinarc.
There are many of us that experience war and trauma as children. That is not a sure way to create a narcissist. The beauty of children is they heal and recover quickly. If they are given the chance to once again be children, they will be. That little boy was traumatized…perhaps the brain’s method of self-preservation to begin healing. It does not mean he will now lack deep emotions and empathy.

I agree with you. There is no sure way to create a narcissist or someone with PTSD or any other diagnosis. My point was that narcicists are often “war torn” from childhood trauma as well and in order to survive they disconnected from the child identity…..like trauma survivors. Dissociation in different forms. The look on that boys face reminded me that not all blank stares that look devoid of feeling are really devoid, but walked in. The look is the same and it is indeed survival, in both. Not sure if that clarified it. I too survived a familial war and partner war and did not become a narcissist. However, some do to survive
You bring up a great point Indy. Is it nurture or nature? I have met ones who have been raised with a silver spoon and worshiped by their parents. They were the golden child, who could do no wrong. Yet, they were void of any compassion and love.
I’ve also seen ones who were the product of their environment. They became the way they were in order to survive.
Why do you think your soul is gone ? What is the root cause ?
To make way for all the others which I must devour to sustain what I am.
The root cause – it is becoming increasingly clear that there were several causes.
Your Soul is not gone!!!! No matter what you say!!! For what ever reason you say your doing this, if you didn’t have a soul you wouldn’t be helping so many!! Regardless if that is not your reason for doing it!! You would of carried on the way you were, you would of gotten out of sessions and you know it!!! Your soul or lack of the same is not the attracting factor, your fuel is. Talk of being soul-destroying, a soul sucker, a soul eater and such like is all good flamboyance and garnish for the impact of the narcissistic experience.

The first time I watched Narc walk towards me, I backed up. I know instinctively I knew what I was looking at. He did remind me of a lizard. “What’s wrong, don’t you like me?” I talked myself into this one for sure.
Now off to see Penn and Teller at the Rio.

I have had this non-belief since 5. I was in a class (Lutheran church ) and the teacher was telling the story of Noah. I was coloring the ARK and my head was down with my arm around the paper, just in my lala world, trying to tune her out. But she went on and on about crap that was NOT LOGICAL! I see myself right now, as a little girl, looking up from my paper of beautiful colors, I am sure I used green everywhere, and thought as I peered at her “You really don’t believe this shit, do you?” Put my head back down to the task of coloring, outside the lines of course, and waited out the time until I could get out of the room from this crazy, delusional adult.
My mom picked me and and whatever I said to her, she never took me back. I am sure I told her that I needed to correct their thinking and explain it was not logical what she was saying. Maybe I told her if she took me back to that crazy place I would scream and scream.

I saw my ex boyfriends eyes turn from bright and beautiful blue to a stone cold look with black eyes . He would go into these blank stares and his voice would get very hollow and robotic at times . It’s not something that can be explained . His pupils would widen and he would get a very eery shark look on his face . Sometimes with a wide smile . The bizarre thing is no one else in the room when this would happen saw it . They didn’t notice the shark look only me . How did I see it but no one else was taken aback and notice ?
It was only meant for you and only you would be receptive to it.
