I do not think the fall is as great for a codependent. I can only speak for myself but I place the narc on a throne from the very beginning. It is necessary that I revere him. Regardless of how high he has placed me, I see him higher. Even when I’m pushed off my pedestal, it is not that jarring because I’ve always been looking up at him.

The week after I found out he cheated he begged for me back and still currently is
It’s sad that he loves the way he does and he goes home alone to an empty apartment with no love or joy but it’s what he chose when he cheated on me so he will have to deal with it
Again….. many of these traits (like the manipulative tactics you speak to in your book) cross over with borderlines…..
(sorry but its just something ive been noticing with each one. But as i keep saying… im thouroughly enjoying them!! 😜)
However, the motivating factors behind why we display these traits and behaviours your mentioning throughout this series, are generally very different!!!
