Stepnarc could pull it off in a bar or in public but whenever he tried to drag someone back to his den (and he was always inviting people over), they could sense something was off. It was like his evil permeated everything and he was too desperate. They always seemed uncomfortable even though he was pouring the drinks and supplying food and stories but I think they could tell because my Mom and us kids could not pull it off. I remember people looking at me quizzically (and yes as I got older I played the injured party when SN couldnt see by looking uber sad and being subservient so they WOULD get it). They almost never returned for a second visit. I assume this was because he was a Lesser and coukd pull off the charm in a crowd but people scrutinize more in smaller groups so my question:

Do you prefer the adoration of many that are more removed (as in a roomful or stadium) where you are the focus than a smaller group that is closer to you (work colleagues or a few closer friends)? The attention can be concentrated in both settings but how does the volume and quality of the fuel differ? You would think television or a concert would be the ultimate because of the numbers and concentration on you but is it less because those people are further removed?
I did read fuel but still this question came to me. I will return to the book to review the scale again.
The primary source is the ultimate provider of fuel but even that would be outpowered by a stadium of 100 000 admiring tertiary sources.

Hi Laurie, thanks for listening and also for reading. What I meant by this comment is that we want you brittle so that you will snap and pour with emotion. Think of yourselves like a crème brulee. The cream underneath is all the emotion and the thin sugary coating on the top is the veneer you might try and keep in place for the purposes of respectability but we want to be able to break through it with ease and devour all that tasty emotional fuel cream underneath.

We set fire to stuff to keep warm! No seriously, we havent had much snow (just looked out window and on cue its coming down soft and fluffy). The other day it poured rain so its been unpredictable. I havent gone out for New Years in years. Cant even remember the last time I bothered to watch Dick Clarks balls drop before he finally did. 2016 was crap though so looking forward to a New Year for us all.

I am usually in bed by midnight. Lol
I will be home this year. I was out with my ex last New Years and I remember some of the night and some things I don’t. It’s the one and only night that I can remember not knowing what really happened. Too many Long Island ice teas. I had to pretend that I remembered things because I knew she would make something up and use it against me. That’s sad!!!
I’m just ready for January.
We are going to get some warmer weather here. 50’s then back to 25.
