Inanimate Compliance

inanimate-complianceI have a fascination for inanimate objects. Show me a beautiful watch with its intricate mechanism on display and I shall sit transfixed for a long time admiring the craftsmanship in this creation. I like to touch one of my favourite suits relishing the sensation of the cloth. I will hold it up pleased with the way it hangs and then of course admire how I wear it in the mirror. A sculpture, a painting, a car or a piece of jewellery. They all invite my admiration. They are items of beauty and superiority and as such firmly belong in my world. Moreover, they do exactly what I want. I love my dishwasher. It always works. I press the buttons and it obeys my commands, quietly churning away as it removes the residue from the expensive crockery. The glassware comes out shining, without streaks or marks. Each and every time. Objects are reliable. They perform as I require them to perform. I love nothing more than an appliance. It complies, it obeys and it delivers. I love possessions.

I love to possess you and make you an inanimate object. That is how I see you. You are an appliance which I expect to do as I demand. You are but an extension of me, placed here to carry out my demands and whims. I like to attach brand names to my ex-girlfriends. Becky was Zanussi – she was good at science, thus she was the appliance of science. Sarah was Nike since I had to tell her to Just Do It.(she called me Burger King – have it your way, I quite liked her).Another was Energizer as she kept going and going and going (but that’s another tale). I like to think I am Tag Heuer (Success. It’s a Mind Game).I objectify everybody and assess how they can be a good appliance to me. Once that is done I have to acquire the appliance. I have possession of you and you must act as I dictate. All my other possessions do, so why should you be any different?

HG, am puzzled about one aspect. why can’t you survive on positive fuel? by your own description, you’re exceedingly charming and popular, so seems like you could easily have an endless stream of positive fuel. positive vs negative fuel is a choice, is it not?

    1. HG Tudor says:

Not from the primary source no. This is the most important provider of fuel and therefore at some point it will decrease, be less frequent and stale, then the contrast is required.

I gain positive fuel from my IPSS and NISS sources all of the time because theirs does not run stale.

As I have explained before, I will gain negative fuel if I am wounded and lash out.

i also draw negative fuel from certain tertiary sources in the appropriate circumstances as they are not important in the scheme of things and drawing negative fuel from them both provides a dollop of fuel and amuses me.

        a helpful reply, thank you.

It is just what a felt in his hsnd: an object. Nothing more of that.
It is very sad to see a world of objects. Every narcissist are lonely in a world of objects.

I can TOTALLY relate to this one cause thats how I feel about my VIBRATOR.
Fascinated by its intricate mechanisms, love the way it hangs. It firmly belings in my world and does exactly what I want. Always works when I press the buttons and obeys my commands. It churns away and comes out shining. Yup- I love me some appliance. It complies, obeys, and delivers.

What dishwashing liquid do you use? My glasses always come out spotty.

    1. HG Tudor says:

You need to adjust the temperature of the water the water is not hot enough.

      1. Korana says:

OK, will do. Thanks for the tip!

Firstly, we are not possessions, and, secondly, we are not inanimate. You cannot control another human being. You can work yourself into a frenzy trying to, but you will always fail. None of your relationships have worked out, and none will, based on that premise.

    1. HG Tudor says:

That doesn’t matter to me, I gained what I needed, the fuel. I will always gain fuel so I will always succeed.

      1. Matilda says:

Though I understand what you are saying, it is difficult for me to grasp the idea that one would want to live like that… hopping from one to the next until you kick the bucket… but if I felt no empathy, love, or joy, and fuel was all that mattered to me, I probably would not care.

        1. HG Tudor says:

Exactly Matilda and once you grasp that that is how it is, it also assist you in moving forward. You don’t have to like it and you won’t, you are different, but understanding it is crucial.

      2. Matilda says:

True! You are right, HG: I do not like it. And, indeed, I have moved on, away from him, but still unsure where I am heading… but such is life 🙂

It is how it is for you, but that does not mean it has to stay this way.

Considering that you are content with your life as it is, and regard feelings as hindrance and weakness, you probably don’t think that the possible benefit (being able to feel) is WORTH the ‘deficits’ you would acquire (less malice).

But you are good at compartmentalising. You could be the ruthless one to those you work and socialise with, and the kind one to your IP. One does not exclude the other, and you would not lose anything.

Empathy can be (re-)learned. I saw a case where it worked. She received therapy as a child to cope with similar circumstances to yours. She has been able to overcome her trauma, and open up to the beauty and joy the world has to offer if you are able to feel empathy. It is the key to everything good, and I believe it is not too late for you.

You put expensive crockery in the dishwasher?!

    1. HG Tudor says:

Well I am not going to do it by hand am I?

      1. Sunshine says:

Slip on a pair of Marigold’s, HG. You can keep the skin on your hands as smooth as a baby’s bum.

Incidentally, I recall my dad referring to my mum as ‘Creda’ (dishwasher). It would seem you are not alone.

      2. Matilda says:

So, are you of any help around the house at all, HG? What about:

        1) doing laundry
        2) ironing
        3) hoovering (carpets, not people! 😀 )
        4) light DIY
        5) emptying the bins

The practical side of things intrigues me 🙂

        1. HG Tudor says:

          Is this an interview Matilda?

          1. I have a lady come and do this, but I can do it.
          2. Ditto.
          3. Cleaner does this, but I can do it also if needed.
          4. I pay someone to do this. i do not have the time.
          5. I do this.

      3. Matilda says:

An interview? what for, HG? 😀 Nah, I am just a bit cheeky at times, and like to amuse myself with mental images. You are quite a mysterious character, so, learning a little about your everyday life gives my picture of you some depth.

You are on one side of the fence, and we are on the other side… and that is how it should be 🙂
