My narcissist when confronted on his malice, said to me ” I am not a monster.” I did not imply he was; I called him a liar, manipulator with no integrity, empathy and conscience. He did not deny; he did not apologize for anything, he went silent instead (mid-ranger). I sometimes wonder how many victims went through same thing with him. The moment when they decide to pull the rug from under you, so entertaining.
I was in full idealization phase and went through discard (devaluation as he tried to prevent the NC with pathetic “preventive hoover’ when he was trying to gain some petty from me, amazing) in a matter of a day. I am so happy I am out of that unhealthy relationship and I know the truth about him now. The facts that closed the door for him forever. It is hard to learn you are living a lie but is so much better when you just decline the membership in narc club.
HG, I know there is no final discard for a narc, but it was a final discard to me. This is the end, my only friend.
