Yes, this. One of several stupid arguments I had with the narcissist. At a social event one evening, he took me aside and told me: “Stop smiling at everyone so much.” I told him he was being ridiculous – that I was a friendly person, why wouldn’t I smile? Then he told me I was being flirty-friendly, which I wasn’t and ticked me off, so we had a very tense night. Back at his house later, we made up the way we always did. Repeat loop, whatever next argument he provoked. Massive control freak.

I smiled at an old,sick looking alcoholic and he was jealous!
The good-looking, full of testosterone: “I can have each woman I want” was jealous of that old man. What a horrible insult against me and what a horrible image of himself my personal narc presented that moment.
I could not believe it. I lost a lot of respect that evening.
Even their own false perception we smiled or glanced another’s way.
So much hatred and jealousy.
It all rises to the surface with ignited fury.
