This is so true! I was on-and-off taking care of a sick friend for three days when I was in contact with the (ex BF) narcissist, and he seemed annoyed. Instead of listening to what was wrong with my friend, he brought up what good care I took of *him* when he got really sick once, and then he parlayed the being in bed thing into talking sexually to me (I’ll spare you). I chalked this up to him not thinking clearly because of his impending divorce and laughed it off.
But the subconscious never lies, because while he was being like this over the phone, I pictured him pushing my friend out of bed and getting in himself. I could feel the anger.
Great meme HG. They all are, everything you produce is of such quality. It’s so rare to engage with anyone who really understands any subject inside out and back to front, whatever their specialism.

I’m currently caring for a very close relative at the moment and this is also my reason give to the N that I’m unable to go out with him.
At first he was caring and understanding, although I could feel the fury being contained. But he told me I must do the right thing. He loved the fact that this truly shows my empathic traits. I don’t always display them so he is a little confused.
He’s now changed his tactics, but trying to convince me that I should make time for myself and get a carer in to at least share my burden 😂 I have made it quite clear that I’m coping well and all in hand. I just can’t meet him at the moment. He still keeps trying.

All “igniters” cause flames of fury….Plus having to care for ANYONE else will likely cause the narc to want to torch em to get it over with.
not that they would overtly set fire to their sick relative.

These narcs are pretty dangerous when it comes to tending someone. They play caring, but plot only to scorch the other person. :/

The narc was pretty malevolent actually, but now since I know what he is, I just laugh at his bad attempts and how pathetic he is,
I pity him, but that doesn’t mean I excuse his bad behavior one bit.
He knew that I would find out and expose his bad behavior, so he ran away. Pity.
But endgame, I’m over him, thanks to HG.
