hg – My MR ex boyfriend was on and off with the girl he dated before me. Does this mean he is probably a ping pong player? If he is does that mean he will try to re establish a formal relationship with me? Would you say that ping pong players hoover more than other types or is it all just about triggers and spheres of influences?
1. On what basis was he on and off? Did he tell you this or did she? If him, he may well be lying.
2. If she confirmed it depends if she was the IPPS and the other person was the IPPS, then it may well have been Ping Pong. Otherwise, she may have been the IPPS and in devaluation when he would see the IPSS other woman, then shelf her when he returned to the IPPS, although he never disengaged from her.
3. It is all based on the triggers and spheres of influence and the HEC being met.
HG, if the narc told his shelf DLS that he was off and on with his new IPPS he is currently with, what is the purpose of him telling her?

What is confusing is first, he said they were about to part ways and then she got pregnant and they are “together” for the sake of the child, then he expressed concern about hurting her feelings and then asked the shelf DLS for space for right now for him and his IPPS to work out their personal issues and that he would reach out soon. If this is not “mind screwing,” I don’t know what is! What do you make of this? Many thanks!

It depends on their fuel matrices.
In general terms both MR and Lesser will want an IPPS to be seamless and if not, they will find one pretty quickly UNLESS they have a NIPS they can turn to and/or they have good fuel matrices which will support them on supplementary sources (secondary and tertiary) for a time. This is usually beyond the LLN and MLN, a potential option for ULN. Unlikely for LMR, possible for MMR and UMR.
