Very interesting post! I have long believed that my N was a delusional Mid, as you described, who really believes what he is saying. However… I have wondered if he is a Greater as there have been several times when I am sure he knew he was lying. (Usually times when he was being especially manipulative and later on in his evolution.) HG, can a Mid evolve into a Greater? (He definitely has the intelligence!) Is the use and awareness of lies one way to tell?
