I realize this is more than likely not what you are expecting as a comment, here. However… I will forge on. I have had narcs in my life, all my life. Some sort of life lesson to heal? I don’t know. But, I ran into one girlfriend (we shared love of a hobby) whom I know was a narcissist. Someone else’s YouTube made mention of the ‘Hero Narcissist’. Now, I would imagine this to be a sub-genre of another category or two, but I would love to have a video from you to perhaps address this odd topic.

Last year, our ac unit went out. My being ill, and my husband being older and diabetic meant the triple-digit heat we were experiencing was at a dangerous level. My friend offered her home to us until our ac could be repaired which was a nice gesture, but in no way did I have the energy to pack us up and drive us over to her house, where I knew both my husband and I would be more comfortable as to the heat, but not in any other way. I politely declined.

She totally blasted me on her FB page. She didn’t name me by name, but when I read and re-read what she’d typed, I began to realize she was talking about me! I confronted her on it, and … don’t really recall what I said, but pretty much shot back. She called a few days later, and it was all smoothed out, along with our ac unit.

But, in her first posts, she was absolutely venomous. Did not like being turned down *at all*. Oddly, Dec. 30th, I got a call from her husband, telling me she had passed due to complications from COPD. We had always had an understanding of the issues of impaired breathing, as I have another respiratory disease, so her lack of knowing how it was for us in the heatwave just made no sense. Plus the subsequent public attack.

Have you had experience of any of your kind of the ‘hero’ type?
