This is so funny. A few months after my final escape I got a FB friend request from a man with the same first name as my narc- which happens to be a girl name rarely used for a white man. I clicked on it without realizing that when you click it automatically accepts said request but I deleted it. The guy portrayed himself as a devout Christian, complete with pictures of some study weekend or something 😂. Odd considering I’m not Christian which is really clear on my page, my ex was atheist. Not sure the point if that was him but it made me laugh before I deleted it lol

It amazes me where narcs will go hunting for potential victims and how pathetic they can be. On my instagram which i run mostly for my side hobby/business ive had requests for a private message from 2 men who clearly have zero interest in what im selling or anything to do with it.
Then on my facebook same thing from a buy and sell site much less. Are they that hard up for new victims? Sorry for the choice of wording 😄 Im actually embarressed for these sorts they stoop very low smh

It is because it is so easy to catch prey in those environments as explained in Sitting Target CHM.

Remember, they like to conserve energy (aka some of them are lazy AF) haha.

        Hi narcangel…😁🤣 theyre so transparent!

      Chihuahuamum,
I get the same thing in Instagram. There were a couple that I engaged….pretty pathetic… with but they were so lame I got bored and blocked them. One wanted a long distance relationship 2 days into chatting. LOL

I agree. Although I ‘get it’ because HG has explained it to us. I have never opted for an easy win.

I appreciate that my next comment is slightly off topic, yet linked. Literally what do you get out of being mean to someone who is indefensible and unable to stand up for themselves. I would hate that so much, to take down someone who is weak.

But the Ls and Ms and Gs to a certain extent still get a power trip over tricking the innocents. I would only like to get a win over someone who attempts to win over me. Otherwise I’d just want to help them.

I agree Alexis. It’s why I’m looking forward to HG’s promised stories of messing with other narcissists.

These sorts are so obvious. I think back to before i knew about npd would i have fell for someone randomly messaging me? I think i wouldve felt curious and possibly flattered but im not so sure it wouldve turned into any sort of online relationship. Now when i come across it i feel a mix of embarressment and disgust that these types cant go out in the real world face to face at least and catch their prey. Mind you many are probably only looking for nude pics and video so i guess it serves their purpose in that regard.
It is amazing they go hunting even in a retail type setting 😄 i had one guy a few weeks ago want to buy something and flat out asked me if i was single. I guess the dating sites werent working for him lol after i said no he didnt buy but i was happy he didnt. Creeps!

Oh god, anyone who chats you up in random places must be waving a flag right in front of your face. I’m honestly dumbstruck when I think at what I/we all fell for. Truly. Especially now five years or so post knowledge. It now seems glaringly obvious. But we’re still very much the minority and should be proud to be part of the HG revolution!

Chihuahuamum—I was getting crap in my LinkedIn that was not professional at all and removed the photo. It’s everywhere. It was always under the guise of a professional collaborative spirit, but even being unaware of narcissism at the time it was clearly not what was presented. I think I made it private eventually—I’m not even sure. I also made FB unsearchable at one time. I’m not certain if it is now but I’m surprised people fall for this stuff.

      1. Chihuahuamum says:

Hi lorelei…my facebook is private and unsearchable. My instagram isnt bc of business purposes. Thankfully ive only had maybe five random messages of this nature but i just ignore them. I look at them as pesty mosquitos. Swat swat 😁

    Ummmm…no 😄

  4. Better Call HG says:

    Hi HG,

What is the narcissistic perspective on using a fake account to make a friend request/follow someone on social media? This has always baffled me because I would think empaths/normals would not accept unknown requests based on the assumption that the request is from a bot/scammer, but I also recognize that since it’s part of the narcissistic playbook it must work to a certain extent (i.e. like the Nigerian Prince scam).

Based on your works, my best guess is that using the fake account allows the following: 1) a low energy way of executing a hoover; 2) allows the narcissist to test the appliance’s susceptibility to a more direct hoover; 3) maintain plausible deniability if confronted by anyone about the request; 4) a way to get around the appliance’s attempt at no contact; and 5) minimize wounding if the request is rejected because the appliance rejected the fake account, not the narcissist.

Is this accurate? I would also assume that if such requests are received, it’s an indicator that a no contact regime needs to be tightened up.

    Thank you!

    1. HG Tudor says:

Correct on all fronts. Gold star for you BCHG.
