You ready for this?? Lol of course you are.

  2. Narc noob says:

    Thanks HG, listening now.

    1. Lorelei says:

Where is this to listen to HG? I’m so lost. I though most of your YouTube stuff was your written work.

      1. Narc noob says:

Lorelei, I think HG has posted it to the blog now.

  3. Dearest HG: Regarding 3 Podcast Platforms your readers, E.B. and Strongerwyndeyme, say work with WordPress such as 1) PODBEAN and 2)CASTOS and 3)BLUBRRY: I was curious and took a peek and here is some of the info. for your consideration: 1) [ PODBEAN ]
    Podbean logo transparent

Podbean has great pricing and plans for new podcasters. There is a 5-hour limited upload plan for free with basic stats. You won’t be able to use your own domain name on this tier though.

They also have an unlimited upload plan starting at $9/month (when paid annually) that includes advanced stats, a website, custom domains, and more.

Podbean also has their own podcast app for iOS and Android and an Alexa skill so you can use your voice to listen to your favorite podcasts.

Get a free month with this link when you sign up for an unlimited plan. 2) [ CASTOS ]

    Castos Logo
Castos Podcast Hosting has some excellent features and integrates seamlessly with WordPress. They own the Seriously Simple Podcasting WordPress plugin where you can manage your feed and upload new episodes right from WordPress.

You’ll get unlimited upload volume and download bandwidth for $19/month, along with an excellent customizable player to embed on your website.

Castos has a 14-day free trial, but if you use the coupon code PI2018, you’ll get a free month! And if you pay for the year up front, you also get 2 months free.

Check out Castos and sign up here. 3) [ BLUBRRY ]

    blubrry podcast hosting logo

I did a lot of research before choosing my first podcast host (many years ago) and Blubrry came out on top, even though more “big” names recommended or used other podcast hosts.

A lot has changed since then and they wouldn’t be my top choice today, but they still deserve a mention.

The main reasons I chose them back then were:

the easy integration with their PowerPress plugin for WordPress
advanced industry-leading statistics included free with your hosting plan
“no-fault” overage – you can upload more than your monthly limit without being charged extra
You can find a more in-depth look at Blubrry in this review.

Plans start at $12/month for 100MB storage upload per month. Depending on the episode length and quality, that should be enough for at least 1 episode per week.

Dearest HG: This article I have a link for you fo really covers a lot on how to start a podcast. Also they say to start out with about 3 podcasts of about the same length so that readers know what to expect and know what amount of time to usually put aside for you. I put an excerpt here if this link, but there is a lot of info. that looks easy to understnad if one is technology inclined, and also the readers give their comments and feedback on the info as well, and that is interesting, and even starting a podcast with the iphone is discussed as well. Here is the link: https://www.shopify.com/blog/34911301-how-to-start-a-podcast-the-ultimate-step-by-step-podcasting-guide . and here is an excerpt from the link for your consideration:

      1. To start a podcast, at a bare minimum, you need to:

Come up with a concept (a topic, name, format and target length for each episode).
Design artwork and write a description to “brand” your podcast.
Record and edit your audio files (such as .MP3s). A microphone is recommended (more on equipment later).
Find a place to host them (such as a file host that specializes in podcast hosting, like Libsyn or Podbean).
Syndicate these audio files into what’s called an “RSS feed” so that they can be distributed through iTunes as well as downloaded or streamed on any device on-demand. ~~~~~~~~~Can you start a podcast with just an iPhone?

The short answer: yes, you can start a podcast on an iPhone. Since iPhones have microphones, they have everything you need to record the audio. However, the audio may not be as clear or the professional quality you’d like.

That being said, there are several apps you can download that will turn your iPhone into a podcast audio recorder. Some hosting solutions, such as Podbean and SoundCloud, also offer in-app podcast recording capabilities. Many of these apps are available for Android devices, too:

      Opinion (iOS)
      Anchor (iOS and Android)
      Spreaker (iOS and Android)
      iRig Recorder (iOS and Android)
      Microphone

The most important thing you need when starting a podcast is a microphone. Virtually every desktop and laptop computer has at least one USB port, allowing you to connect a device, like an external microphone. These devices are plug-and-play, which means no drivers (or installation) are required. The good news is you can get a USB microphone of decent quality for under $50 USD.

You may choose to invest in a more expensive XLR microphone that plugs into a mixer, which might provide better sound quality for your podcast. However, the audio quality you can achieve with a really good USB microphone is more than enough for most people. Many popular podcasts today have some of the most simple setups and still use USB microphones.

Your computer or laptop probably comes with a built-in microphone, but I forbid you from using that for your podcast. The audio quality will be abysmal, I promise. Those built-in microphones were not designed for podcasts. You’ll need a decent external microphone if you’re serious about starting a podcast.

Here are two that I recommend:

Samson Go Mic (less than $40 USD): The Samson Go Mic (available in two different models) is a basic, plug-and-play microphone that comes with a mic stand or clip (to attach to your computer) and a USB cable. The audio quality is very good for the price; it’s a great bang-for-your-buck microphone if you don’t want to spend a lot of money.

Audio Technica AT2020 USB Microphone (~$130 USD): The audio quality on the AT2020 microphone makes it worth the price. I’ve used the AT2020 microphone for a long time for my own podcasts and it’s produced very high-quality voice recordings.

  4. MB says:

HG, you don’t look like I expected.

    1. HG Tudor says:

      ?

      1. MB says:

The pic for the interview. Not how I have imagined you to look! Ha ha

        1. HG Tudor says:

          That’s not me, obviously.

          1. MB says:

Obviously not. I was teasing. I’ll behave now.

          2. God, I hope not. Looks a bit like Joel mcHale. I have higher expectations than that.

          3. Narc noob says:

Forthcoming HG? Didnt you just post this. I am listening to it now.

          4. HG Tudor says:

I posted it this morning ahead of the interview which came out afterwards.

          5. Bibi says:

WAT? The dude in the pic is not in anyway indicative of ‘low expectations.’ He is a nice enough looking man. C’mon now. I’m not even into blondes and I say this.

Tho I have to admit, HG, you have used this pic before and I imagined this man as you for a time, that is, before the Amish doll that appeared in my dream. Now you just appear to me as an oversized Amish doll. Sexy and scary at once? LOL

(For anyone reading this for the first time, don’t ask.)

When I listen to this interview and I hear your booming British voice box I will be so embarrassed by my comment that I will likely go all ostrich and stick my head in the sandbox.

          6. HG Tudor says:

I did not choose the picture, Christine did.

    2. FoolMe1Time says:

      MB,
Did you see something the rest of us didn’t???

      1. Narc noob says:

Fm1T, I think MB is still in fantasy land. She said so herself on another article. She has been speaking little white lies all over. It is funny to watch! 🤣

        1. FoolMe1Time says:

          Narc noob,
She has been like this since she returned to the blog. No more leaving the blog for her!! 🤣🤣🤣

        2. MB says:

Narc Noob, I know! I have been horrible. I sincerely apologize for the confusion. I haven’t been myself lately. I’m trying really hard to behave, but I am so bored in this dungeon! My fantasies are running wild. The only good thing about the dungeon is the bedtime stories. They keep me going. If I don’t straighten up, I’ll never be released!

          1. Narc noob says:

MB, sadly fantasy is akin to the N! I would come and rescue you, if only I knew where your dungeon was.

          2. MB says:

Thank you Narc Noob. That is really sweet. You made my day 😊

  5. MB says:

I love the passion you have for getting the correct information out there, HG!The pounding of the table was a nice effect. What did you even need the interviewer there for? Ha ha. #monologue 😍

    1. HG Tudor says:

Ha ha thank you, I do revel in my monologues but that’s because I’m delivery gold for the ears.

      1. MB says:

I agree. It was almost awkward when she jumped in and broke your flow. The interview was jam-packed with good information. You squeezed A LOT of gold in there.

Do I hear people saying they want to hear the dark side of HG in an interview? I don’t see that happening. I’m not sure there is value in that anyway.

        1. strongerwendyme says:

I think there could be value in that. We need to be soberly reminded of who we are actually dealing with now and then.

        2. FYC says:

MB, I agree and SWM, I do not agree. Bringing out the dark side would be detrimental to HG’s image and grand design. The only way this could be pulled off without extensive damage would be a dramatization, and even then, it would be so believable it would likely cause more harm than good and leave an indelible image. Most importantly, his detractors would use any dark clip repeatedly as to define HG and warn people to stay away. HG is already introduced with a litany of warnings and defined as a narcissistic psychopath (a more accurate description would be narcissist psychopath or NPD/APD because narcissism is not a modifier of APD). Better to maintain good behavior in his public appearances so that victims do not stay away from his invaluable assistance. That would be a greater tragedy.

    2. Lorelei says:

MB—where is table pounding? Why have I only recently learned of such interviews? I mean I’ve heard a few up until the last week but I’m so behind the times. I’m now convinced HG doesn’t sit and shake and drool as lotion is tossed into the dungeons. Did you ever kill the spider down there?

      1. MB says:

He pounds the table in this newest interview. It’s not loud or violent. Just driving the point home. I have some excellent headphones so it may not be heard otherwise. I don’t kill spiders. I fear their family members will come for revenge. They run rampant down here. I can barely sleep. I must unlock the secret to being released.

        1. Lorelei says:

MB—I listened while I mopped and cleaned. It reinforces that this is a problem which is clearly why I’m stuck in narcissist school. Do I ever hit a graduation point? I’m in like 4th grade. How did I get this freaking problem. It’s ridiculous and as life altering as a real addiction issue. I guess it is real.

          1. MB says:

Lorelei, it IS real. The effect of Narc on your brain is the same as crack! Well, I havent seen anything scientific on that but I’m sure it’s true. I bet the same areas of the brain light up.

          2. Lorelei says:

I’ve never done crack. I always thought of it for bums. See where that got me! Only the powder for a princess lol.

          3. MB says:

Lorelei, I wouldn’t know either. I’ve never done an illegal drug in my life nor smoked a cigarette. My drugs are food and Narcs!

          4. Lorelei says:

MB—funny you mention this as a drug. I keep thinking of this. I thought the whole “addiction” concept was a little extreme, over the top, a poor analogy.. I don’t think so now. It’s been a few days of reflection. Not that I haven’t been already—but it’s been more “under the magnifying glass” in my mind. I can logically look at a nice guy and know he is nice. I can appreciate he is pleasant looking and maybe even really attractive yet he’s not attractive to me. Not at all—and it’s always the nice ones. Take a guy with that special brand of testing boundaries/charm, etc—and I’m an idiot. It is what it is—I’m aware. It feels natural and normal people make me shut down. I like bad men—the worse the better. I’m also easy prey for narcissist females—I’ve been prime fodder for bearing the brunt of such dynamics in friendships.

        2. Lorelei says:

Spiders actually fascinate me. I could totally do the Fear Factor tarantula thing.

          1. MB says:

Lorelei, I am fascinated watching them weave their webs. It’s is amazing to me how they know what to do. The webs are so intricate. They flew away on the wind as baby spiderlings to figure out how to survive on their own. But you can fuck a tarantula sky high. If there were any in the dungeon, you’d not be hearing from me right now. I’d die at the sight of one running loose.

          2. NarcAngel says:

            MB
Ummm…..don’t open that door to your right then…….

            No reason.

          3. MB says:

NA, thank you for the warning! I bet you know all the nooks and crannies of this place. What’s the key to getting out? I’ve tried begging, I’ve tried flattery. I’m beginning to think I’ll just have to wait for somebody else to be ordered to the dungeon and I’ll be exchanged. And that makes me sad. I don’t want my freedom in exchange for another’s misery. #empathproblems

        3. Narc noob says:

All I heard MB was him clearing his throat. Ha ha, perhaps it was a pounding, though?

        4. NarcAngel says:

          MB
Ha. That pounding might have been your heart at the sound of his voice.

          1. MB says:

NA, well yeah, there is that for sure. Am I the only one that heard it?

  6. Blue Velvet Jazz says:

I just subscribed to the channel, myself, this morning: Knowing The Narcissist, and Christine, both on YouTube.

    1. strongerwendyme says:

I’d join, but I’m only interested in her podcasts with HG 😉

  7. FoolMe1Time says:

HG, know ET this time, I promise.
I think in these podcasts that they Barely reach the tip of the iceberg when it comes to you, who and what you are , and all of the knowledge and intelligence you that you have. An example would be the live streams you have done in the past. I was talking to a friend who just discovered them on YouTube, she was actually quite surprised. Who you are definitely comes out in those live streams which was something they noticed right away. I understand where flirting and humor are also important in these types of situations and that your charm shows through, but I would like to see them take you a bit more seriously so that at the end they know exactly who and what they were interviewing. This is just my opinion and in no way did I want this to seem that your other podcasts were not good, but you are better than good!! You are HG Tudor the #1 source on narcissistic behavior! Good luck HG!!

    1. HG Tudor says:

Indeed and thank you FM1T, one of the recent interviews which comes out in two weeks or so is more serious.

      1. FoolMe1Time says:

You do know HG it doesn’t matter what kind of interview you do, it will be amazing!! Simply because you’re amazing!! 😘

        1. HG Tudor says:

          I agree and thank you.

          1. FoolMe1Time says:

            Your welcome HG.

      2. Narc noob says:

HG, did the interview occur that you advertised a few months back? I forget the utube but you already had one and another was on the cards.

When is the more “serious” one coming?

I presume that Teals team didnt get in touch with you, after all? 😑

        1. HG Tudor says:

No, we had a scheduling issue but it’s in hand.

Two weeks or so. There’s information about my childhood, the good doctors and much more.

          Teal? Who’s that?

          1. Narc noob says:

Jolly good, I will keep my eyes peeled.

I look forward to hearing about the good docs and childhood from the horses mouth 👍

Ba ha ha. You forgot already!? Nvm.

          2. Twilight says:

            Narc noob

Are you speaking about Teal Swan?

          3. Narc noob says:

Teal who? Teal Swan! Maybe I will try again.

I think we spoke about 4 times regarding her and what a good interview I think it would be. Pity it didnt happen. You dont recall those conversations though? And yet you did recall one of my emails I sent, even the entire sentence you replied with, when I questioned you on this blog about it. Which of course I thought was surprising given your many emails and work load.

          4. HG Tudor says:

I didn’t state I didn’t recall the conversations, I asked who Teal was.

No, there was no interview with Teal Swan.

  8. Chihuahuamum says:

I think this was where i first heard of you HG! I had listened to a interview there on utube. Look forward to listening to this one!

  9. MB says:

Oh yeah, and I already subscribed to the OOB w Christine YT channel, so I ready! She put a plug for the upcoming interview in the comments section on Part 2.

  10. Claire says:

It is brilliant! Feeling lazy after gym and other activities today, I just opened my playlist on YouTube and searched and listened to. Added to my playlist , next to Avicii btw:)
Is that you on the picture , HG? I am just curious , the person on the picture has very cold looking eyes – if the image has not been altered deliberately.

    1. HG Tudor says:

      No.

    2. Claire says:

Sorry, it was just a curiosity as I don’t have Insta.

  11. Bipolar☆Unicorn says:

Wish I had an answer for that, but I don’t!

  12. Veronique Jones says:

    Can’t wait 😊

  13. myriflemyponynme says:

How I wish the interviewers were more abrasive with you and actually read your body of work…

    1. HG Tudor says:

Abrasive? Explain. Do you mean more challenging.

      1. myriflemyponynme says:

Explain (not happy with imperative mode use) : abrasive = caustic, withering and trenchant. Each time, it seems to me – humble thinking- that they could have striken gold interviewing you but shot blank. You are not an “average Joe”, you are a narcissist. In itself, that is an Opportunity.

        1. HG Tudor says:

Do you think if they were caustic, withering or trenchant that would strike gold? How?

          1. Dearest HG: I love your interviews. I do not like many interviews, because the ego of the interviewer often gets in the way of the interview itself and often breaks the momentum of what is being discussed. This is not good for me as the audience member. I have NEVER heard an Interviewer ruin an interview with you, or run roughshod over you. You are able to keep the points that you make clear without interruption and without weird tangents being thrown in by the interviewer. And, I have posted many times on Narcsite about how I Love your interviews, and the control of the quality you maintain of the product, your information. And still remain personable and engaging. Your interviews are the best I have ever seen on any topic, bar none. Even the interviewers are impressed and marvel at what you bring to the table and they say so. Your interviews are an Event, HG. Please, never forget that.

          2. HG Tudor says:

            Thank you.

          3. myriflemyponynme says:

            Of course I do.
With Your kind of “esprit Mortemart” wit and your colossal body of work – four years only to this day, You have captured the “essentia” of narcissism and made it mass accessible.
What was BHGT- before HG Tudor- an “accident”, an anecdotic nebula, in each of interviewer’s life or your readers’- mine included- has been codified, enlightened and is, NOW,cristal clear.
People write “you saved my life” for God’s sake !
When dId that intensity transpire in your interviews, Sir? How could an interviewer treat you like a regular guest? Your message is far from usual, Sir. Their “pirouettes et ronds de jambes” do not do it justice. You are not a shrink, a victim : you are “It”. Narcissism. Knowledge is good but awareness is the prime aim here. Direct questions, no tiedous wagoning in circle, more drama.
Striking gold is, given your works and your “greatness”, figuring out a way to bring them to interview the “narcissist” not the well-mannered and polished man in front of them.
Striking gold is conveying your or “a” reality of your choosing not that Epinal print of narcissism that comes along the connivance.
Striking gold is selling your work and theirs, going viral and make people, share and talk about you before not after the “accident”.
I would love it if a young girl or boy knew what is narcissism before being hit.
            Vulgarize it.
            Please.

        2. lisk says:

My impression of HG is that if he wants to give gold, he will, regardless of what the interviewer asks or how he asks it.

I’m guessing HG saves much of the gold for consultations, where he receives a fair exchange for his brainy bullion.

          1. HG Tudor says:

            Brainy bullion – very good.

  14. Bipolar☆Unicorn says:

Wish you would start your own podcast!

    1. HG Tudor says:

I am looking at doing this, any suggestions on bets platforms for doing so?

      1. Bipolar☆Unicorn says:

I listen to your YouTube videos all day. I think you could could pick any topic and speak on it and be good. Go where you want instead of being guided. Maybe interview your followers? That would be pretty cool. Knowing the narcissist from the empaths POV… Might be cool?

      2. Bipolar☆Unicorn says:

I mean I have listened to all the podcasts you have done so far and they are all pretty similar. A no holds barred Q and A would be cool. You have a niche. You should go for it

        1. HG Tudor says:

What do you see a No Holds Barred Q and A sounding like?

          1. Bipolar☆Unicorn says:

Depends on the person asking the questions. You can ultimately edit what gets broadcast though. On that, perhaps not the ideal situation for your type 👀

          2. HG Tudor says:

No, I meant what platforms are the best ones for developing podcasts.

          3. MB says:

I know nothing about the magic of podcast platforms. It’s similar to “the cloud”, it just works, so I can’t help you there. I just wanted to pipe up and put my vote in for a podcast. It would be awesome to search for HG Tudor and subscribe. You can speak intelligently on nearly any topic. You are a fascinating man.

          4. HG Tudor says:

            Thank you MB

          5. E. B. says:

PodBean is a highly recommended hosting platform.
Podbean’s support page says it is possible to embed a podcast player on a self-hosted WordPress.org site (but not on WordPress.com).

          6. HG Tudor says:

Thank you EB, I will look into that.

          7. Dearest HG: Live Q and A I do not recommend. People are often very silly. Also, those jealous and envious of you will try to take the attention away from you and place it on themselves by asking you odd questions and that is not good for me, the audience member. I want good information for my valuable time. Or, you can answer pre selected questions. I want the quality that you are known for. A little humor thrown in at times, is fine of course.

          8. HG Tudor says:

Thank you for your observations PSE.

          9. Lorelei says:

Princess—I agree. Some of the questions can be intrusive or creepy.

          10. Dearest HG: I am not involved in the technology world, but I have been listening to youtubers complaining about demonetization and all sorts of things going on with youtube, and they are trying to establish more control over their channels and moving to platforms where they have control and their own websites, but it isn’t easy I guess, when their clients are used to them being only on youtube, to get their clients to switch over. They are complaining more and more, that they are not pushed up in the feed by youtube, etc. even though they have plenty of subscribers as well. Not supported by youtube. Or demonetized, if they cover certain topics, and it is difficult to address any of these issues with customer service with youtube. And this hurts their livelihood and sometimes unexpectedly with youtube, and with no prior warning, they are suddenly demonetized. So, whatever you do with creating a podcast, etc, please be sure you keep control like you have control on Narcsite. I do not speak website technology and channel creating, so I hope you understand what I am relaying from other youtube channel `owners`. And youtube is changing I am hearing and censuring and not supporting and punishing by demonetising the people that have channels with them more than ever before now.

          11. HG Tudor says:

Thank you PSE, you make some valid points and I have a number of plans with regard to delivery of information through particular platforms.

          12. Desirée says:

Re: best platfrom to develop a podcast
I heard Libsyn is popular, it’s also an official launching partner with Spotify

            Thank you Desiree.

          14. Dearest HG. Regarding: YOUR control and YOUR platforms: PSE Exceedingly Approves.

E.B. Re; Podbean. Sounds so interesting, and still part of the WordPress family! I love familiarity when possible, There is more trust. And HG is already part of the WordPress platform. as their client, and when they see that, they will usually provide more assistance and customer service to him, as a friend of the Word Press world. I like it.

          16. E. B. says:

            PSE,
PodBean does not belong to WP. PodBean podcasts can be embedded on self-hosted WordPress.org sites. If I am not wrong, HG used to have a WP.com site and later he changed to WP.org.

If you have WordPress.com, this is not possible but you can add an URL.

            WordPress.org and WordPress.com are different.

            HG

A few thoughts have been sparked by this thread…

I don’t think that completely unstructured interviews work so well, as measured by being able to remember what was discussed afterward, and listener satisfaction.

I like to listen multiple times to well done interviews and podcasts that are good mind food. I don’t finish the ones that aren’t getting anywhere 10 mins in.

            Too unstructured?
People tend to talk over each other, and get off topic, or not answer the question as someone interjects.

If it’s too free in style, it doesn’t have the punch, the impact, or the food for thought satisfaction for the listener. It can feel frustrating.

I’m reminded of some Oprah interviews where she talked over her guests. Some other podcasts and YouTube videos around currently have become an amorphous mass, and left me wondering “what was the point of that again?” and “Did they even address the premise of the video?”

An amorphous mass is formed by not keeping to the topic, and not giving the guest enough time to develop a point, or to unpack their points. The interviewer will jump around to other points, so the impact is lost.

I liked the WNAAD panellists’ interviews for these reasons, that the limitations that I mentioned are preempted and avoided. The interviewer needs to be skilled.

With some structure, the listener is participating, fully engaged as the topic is discussed in-depth. The guest speaker still has some creative freedom and leeway to include some new information or to describe a new idea or elaborate on a point with a new creative analogy, sparked by the chemistry that’s flowing between the guest and interviewer.

It is still an organic process, but perfectly balanced.
You do your part well. We need the interviewers to be of the requisite calibre.

          18. HG Tudor says:

            I agree.

I personally liked liked the live Qand A livestreams. It’s fascinating to hear HG think on his feet.

I don’t know how HG learned not to say “umm”, “you know” and the other things that we say in conversation. I am impressed by this ability. Same with DJs. I don’t have that much control. My mouth moves before my brain engages!

          21. HG Tudor says:

            Thank you.

          22. E.B. Re: WordPress.com and WordPress.org. Thank you. I am not a tech person neither a computer person. Are you saying they are 2 different organizations with similar names? Or, are you saying that Podbean would not be a good fit for HG for the podcast, or are you saying something else altogether. Basically, are you still recommending Podbean for HG Tudor, and the URL will smooth the transition? Thank you so much, E.B.

          23. lisk says:

Totally agree with PSE’s comment, “Dearest HG: Live Q and A I do not recommend.”

      3. Jenn Adkins says:

I would subscribe to your podcast if you started one. Libsyn seems to be a very popular hosting platform, but I think it really depends on how often you intend to publish, how long the segments are and what you wish to pay for hosting. As far as reaching an audience, I would distribute to a few different places such as Spotify, Google, etc. but I’m sure most of us here would listen to you wherever you choose to publish them.

        1. HG Tudor says:

          Thank you for those observations
