Dearest HG: I heard the short sellers are very angry and have lost literally, and without exaggeration, billions of dollars shorting Tesla stock. lol. Short sellers are more vocal than they use to be, and even some are sort of infamous, I have noticed. Some of Tesla`s short sellers are even named. If I owned Tesla stock, I would take some profit right now, and then buy it back later, maybe next year or so, during a huge dip. Sell High is not hard for me, to deal with, like it is for most people. Most people can say: Sell High and Buy low, but in reality, the majority of people become attached to their stocks and will not take profit when the market is High: Empaths? I was wondering, is there a way that Tesla can hedge itself against these infamous and named short sellers?
On another note, I am sure the market will crash soon, once the Corona situation is fully impacting many countries, and the next stage of admissions of how bad it is and will be, is publicly announced.
HG: IF I were a financial advisor, I would tell my clients to sell RIGHT NOW, any stocks that they want to sell, and any stocks that they have made a good profit on, right now, while the market is High and is ARTIFICIALLY, to prevent panic, being propped up. Then I would tell my clients to hold their CASH from selling those stocks and buy back some stuff later on, if they please. Buy low and Sell High. Dearest HG, please listen to your PSE and: SELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. I heard that Tesla is going to have a vehicle on display for the SuperBowl, in the U.S. this weekend, but not alone: Competitors will also have a vehicle, with celebrities promoting each vehicle of course.

I thought I would respond because when I was still absorbing HG’s work, in the beginning, I also thought my narcissist was a greater. However, greaters do not beg and plead and would have very little trouble containing their fury. Many of the behaviours you have mentioned, including that your narcissist “erupts very easily”, are not indicative of a greater.
I would definitely follow through on HG’s recommendations. You will find much peace of mind in determining the school and cadre of your narcissist, since then you can better gage what to expect in terms of hoovers etc.
Everything from reading your blog, listening to your material, listening to these knowing HG chapters, it all feels like listening to Bach, Mr Tudor.

what kind of red wine do you chill? A Zinfandel, Lambrusco, even a Cabernet or Pinot Noir is ok or even good to chill. The only time I am picky, and insist that I drink red wine warm, is when I eat Italian food. Then I need a more full bodied red wine like a chianti. I would probably flip the table over yelling if my wine was served chilled in that circumstance.

HG, I just purchased your 1 to 3 and look forward to hearing them. I also wanted to share that a friend if mine has escaped today from her Lesser husband. I’d given her many of your books to read (she hid them at work so he never knew) and I do not exaggerate when I say your work was instrumental in her finally getting the courage to escape, and that is indeed what it is. Escape. She had tried to leave once before but he used an extremely threatening hoover; this time she knew what she had to do and all was successful. He won’t find her, and while she knows it’s a long road ahead she thanks you for helping her to understand finally what she was living with. As with most Lessers, he was brutally abusive. This time, instead if doing what she’d thought was right and telling him it was over, with very careful help, she literally escaped. HG, I was IPPS, I left my lower greater narc, he had narcissistic injury after I told him something and he said it was over but it was just rage in that moment and he blocked me. So i told him to get lost as well and blocked him as well. but 2 days later he unblocked me and comes back and does the IGH for 7 days. He blew up my phone with voice messages and private calls, emails, begging and pleading that he had anxiety and could not eat/sleep, he missed/loved me, to forgive him, to call him, to have mercy on him, to give him closure if i was moving on.
i felt bad but was not going to respond to him as he would have sucked me back in, and I asked my sister to give him a response which was implying that my father was not having him waste my time anymore. After this he did not try to contact me again.
since then i have not heard from him and i will assume that he is focused on the new supply (whoever the poor thing is)
I am healing, i guess i didn’t really suffer a huge devaluation and i am focusing on myself for now. i did not suffer PTSD but apart of me still misses him sometimes. Hence no dating for now.
Do narcissists usually do follow up hoovers to restart the relationship with the old IPPS if the current IPPS fails?

He erupts very easily even during idealisation he can be extremely harsh and he doesn’t care about it.

I am just wondering how cautious would i need to be? so that he isn’t able to speak to me, as i sometimes get business private calls so i always answer.
Do narcs do FUH using private calls to test the waters as he cannot message me because he is blocked.

When the new IPPS falls into devaluation, this increases the risk of being hoovered for the Immediate Former IPPS, although this level of risk is also affected by how good your no contact regime is. However, when the new IPPS falls into devaluation, this increases the possibility of being hoovered (other factors can reduce it). The Former IPPS may be hoovered for just fuel or to reinstate the Former IPPS as the IPPS, it depends on what is occurring within the fuel matrix. Indeed Lorelei – I recall Frederico (just call me “Freddie”) the very witty and charming tour guide – who, when no one else was looking – would fiddle with my long hair and invited me to come visit him in San Jose, saying that he could use a native English speaker to teach his children…
And yes, if I could have escaped our hotel room without my parents noticing – you can bet that drinks with little umbrellas would have been delightful with, Guillermo, the bartender. I am certain “Guillermo” just rolls off the tongue in a lovely way after a few Pina coladas…
I went when I was 16 and fell in love with Costa Rica; I dreamed of returning many times over the years. It didn’t hurt that I had a potential job offer ‘awaiting’ me – haha. I am absolutely certain now that Freddie was a narc.

Aside from the narc men, it really is a unique place – when I went the tourist industry was just getting under way so there was still a huge middle class and people appeared mostly happy and welcoming to visitors. I don’t know if that is still the same. (You didn’t see extreme wealth and extreme poverty like some tourist destinations.)
The beauty of it was incredibly unique – we stayed in San Jose and did excursions to both coasts and a local countryside tour (the local food was awesome).
It felt so novel to be able to travel across an entire country in a day – of course my comparison is Canada where it *feels* like it takes forever and a day just to get out of Ontario.
My favourite part was the Pacific coast of Costa Rica – since we stayed at a quiet hotel, had the entire beach to ourselves and it was black sand (from volcanoes!)Which, at 16 I didn’t know existed.
I’ve never seen sand tainted by volcanoes but I know in Hawaii it is in many areas. I’m trying to make plans and it is really inexpensive to travel to Costa Rica. I’ve spend time in Ontario—my friend has relocated there from the Alberta Prairie which is way too far and remote for travel. I can drive to the area she is now located in a half a day. I am waiting for probably May? We met on Facebook some years back in a dog training group! Talked for years and have never “met.” I love Canada as I’ve spend time there with fond memories. Maybe I’ll see MM!

I found a July departure date with an excellent rate to stay in a rainforest or some such location. My oldest daughter is likely to go—the little kids should be on vacation with their imbecile father! Hotel Punta Leona. Doesn’t look too bad. It’s gonna be hot & rainy. I’m glad she is considering because it’s a strained situation.

We didn’t do the rainforest, sadly. But got really good exposure to local culture, which I loved.
When I was there, somewhere not far from the Gold Museum, I bought a lovely soapstone sculpture by a local artisan – it was of two birds, necks gracefully out stretched, beaks touching at a point (the narrowest point being where the beaks met; I didn’t think that was achievable with soapstone). When I told the artist that I would be taking it back to Canada, he shooed me away and told me to come back in half an hour for it. When I returned, he had modified a small, sturdy cardboard box with a lid and very carefully secured it at many points, with soft twine, so it would survive the trip back. I was very impressed by this gesture – the memory lasted longer than the sculpture!
I understand! The item has more associated than being pretty to look at—I remember a teacup I bought after climbing the Great Wall—they were very cautious to wrap it and it made it home intact. (That’s a bitch of a climb too—its very disjointed and the footing is a challenge)
My mother was generous enough to fund the excursion so I’m excited. I have to go in the summer though because it’s hard to be away while the kids are in school and I’m
already away twice in school months.

Toronto is alright…I have studied, lived, worked and vacationed there. I personally never drove there though; not much point when the transit system is pretty good and cheap!
However, I would never live there again.
I had the chance to take my son there recently, we did some local sights including Canada’s Wonderland. Stayed in a tiny AirBnB, but in a nice locale…he was mostly impressed with the subway system, haha.
Kids are funny that way.
The subway was cake to navigate.
FYC: it’s the math equivalent of Dolores Umbridge and her “Synthesis Matrix.” I hate these “Method over Material” types. One of those hall monitor types (though I think she was an actual one, complete with sash and badge) from Girl Scouts grew up to be an elementary school teacher. Her web site contained at least one post from a student puzzled that she wanted them to show their work using her particular Method, but he went along with it. No Gausses in her class!

Hi WhoCares, I am sure he does want us to work it out and I have learned a great deal more by the challenge. And although it would be fun to read others impressions, I am sure HG would not have the time to run a separate platform for the paid materials. The only down-side is all the questions that must wait for a future date to have a confirmed answer, but that is also part of the excitement and fun getting a new set of clues. No I am sure I haven’t worked out the secret yet! I have only had a single full listening of part 3. I am intrigued by HG’s description of his internal experiences but so far my favourite is part 1.
FYC – in your opinion, which part is more ‘revealing’ with regard to your findings? Or is it a combination of the 3?

WhoCares, Parts one and two provide facts, insight and backdrop, but I think the most telling clue is in part three on one sentence. I am not sure my theory is accurate. I have not been able to confirm through other previous writings as of yet. Perhaps it will forever remain a theory.

FYC and WhoCares, like MB I woke up last night thinking about this. My dreams were very strange. I was trying to answer a multiple choice question but there were so many clues in the question and I couldn’t come up with a reasonable answer. It dawned on me while getting ready this morning what triggered the dreams.

Early mornings become my routine because I can actually hear my brain at that time… coffee, HG, and the blog have become part of that routine mostly because of the intrigue and new stuff as of late – plus I enjoy checking in with people whose stories I am familiar with here. Conveniently, it is also a good distraction from legal matters.
How is your legal situation going?
WhoCares, I agree about early mornings. The blog is a good way to start the day on a positive note.
As far as the legal matters, thank you for asking. Depositions are this week and I wasn’t called so that is a good sign in my opinion. I wish I could take a vacation out of the country for a month or two and all of this will go away. Hopefully it will all be over by the end of February. I’ve spoken to HG and know what my best course of action is. I just hoping that no action will be required of me.

Mercy, I do hope your involvement is minimal and you manage to fit in a vacation!
My narcissist is making mid-ranger maneuvers to the tune of “But I can change…” In one way, it is good because he keeps consistently demonstrating that he cannot make *actual* change happen and keeps showing his true colours. But there is a small chance that with the right judge he could gain some ground.
And while I am very well prepared with regard to how things will play out and what to expect (thanks to HG’s co-parenting package etc.) I just worry because maybe there is something else going on in the rest his fuel matrix (which I know zero about and don’t care to know) that may cause him to prolong the process more and from every angle possible.
WhoCares, have you had a chance to look at “Future Protection”? I think I read something about protecting ourselves when there’s a shift in the fuel matrix.
I know it’s scary wondering if one of their sources gets wise to what they are and then they turn their attention back on us. I think about that all the time. It’s probably not the most companionate way to look at it, obviously I wouldn’t wish anyone to have to endure the abuse, it just sucks that a shift can affect us.

Re: Future Protection, it’s definitely on my future ‘wishlist.’
I hear you re: compassion for others in our narcissist’s fuel matrix. The fact is whether or not we have an awareness of that particular individual, we still know our narcs are out there abusing someone – or about to. I can only defend myself and while doing so inform others along the way.
Fortunately, in my case, the only way he can get at me is with a legal application. The only way he will get further access to me is to succeed in modifying our court order – of course he is trying to frame it as in ‘the best interests of the child’.
No. The bests interests of the child = no further litigation.
WhoCares, re: using your childs best interest. I feel for you in that aspect. I was lucky that my girl’s narc father wasn’t smart enough to challenge me. Instead of the fight he would move on to easier fuel. They still suffered from his lies and future faking but at least I didn’t have to worry about the legal system taking away my right to protect them These are the best memories you’ll have with your son and it’s a shame that you have to deal with the added stress from his father. He’s very lucky to have you in his corner. Too many children are forgotten when the empathetic parent looses themselves to the abuse of the narcissist.

I think my biggest issue is actually with family law, at this time, because – to make it fair – both sides are given a voice and are allowed to be heard repeatedly. Mine is abusing this reality but it is also beginning to come clearer to those involved that there is an underlying issue here.
Yes, you are very right that the stress of the legal process takes away from the empathetic parent’s ability to do their best parenting.
Honestly, though I am so very fortunate to have minimal contact with my ex and the best protection for my child (for now) that I can manage, within the confines of the legal system.
WhoCares, I wish I knew about narcissism back then. I would have done things differently with the kids. I didn’t realize what a lasting effect he would have on them. They still talk to him but it’s more out of guilt than wanting a relationship with him. A few years back he told the girls he had cancer. I knew it was a pity play and nothing was Wrong with him. They suspected too but felt guilty for doubting him I’m case he was really sick.
When talking about making it fair in court, I’ve found fair isn’t always fair. I’m glad that your ex’s tactics are becoming clear to those judging your case.
Ugh..telling your kids that he has cancer. The depths they will sink to for some attention and pity fuel, unbelievable. They truly have no shame or insight. And, while misplaced, I understand your girls’ guilt over not believing him. I have had to confront with similar guilt over my mother but it is all too transparent in the end.

Hi Mercy, please don’t worry about too many clues. It’s not the amount of information that is important. Aside from HG and his internal experience, there is really only one subject that runs through all three offerings, and one clue that references a trigger that correlates with that subject matter. I believe this may be what HG is alluding to. I suspect something, but cannot confirm it as of yet from other HG materials. Of course, I could be missing something or be wrong entirely. I look forward to seeing if my theory is even close to correct. In any case, when you can’t sleep, give your open loop (unresolved issue) an ending, whether it be a decision, a conclusion, an action, etc. Then your subconscious mind will not stay stuck in the loop and you will sleep soundly. Sweet dreams tonight!
FYC, I think a lot of it has to do with a course I had to take last week. The test was brutal and then HG gives us this little challenge like a cherry on top. Your theory is interesting. I assume I know the one subject matter so I’ll look for the trigger clue.
I like your advice about an ending for unresolved issues. Maybe that will work with other issues I have going on.
Mercy, I bet you aced that course! I stumbled upon that bit of info in a neuroscience journal. It works for almost any anything!
FYC, I don’t know if I aced it but I feel pretty good about it. I won’t find out for a couple weeks. Have you ran across anything in your neuroscience studies that helps with retaining or remembering what you read. Ive always relied heavily on resources but that’s not going to help me with this series of test I have to take.

As for memory retention: When we learn anything we are accessing our short-term memory. To migrate anything to longer term memory (different area of the brain) this can be accomplished in several ways, repetition, association with pre-existing long term memories, mnemonics, encoding via emotion, or a combination of all these (and there may be others I am unaware of). Anything that evokes strong emotion and engages our senses increases memory retention. It also helps to break down the complex into more easily understood parts (micro learning). When we understand something well, it is easier to remember. What form of subject matter are you dealing with (numerical, informational, rules-based, historical, etc.)?
With regard to any standardized tests there are little things you can do to increase your performance too: Get good rest the night before the test; relax immediately before the test (try a mini-meditation); and eat something high in sugar or carbs 20 minutes prior to the test.
Thank you FYC, it’s a case study and mainly mathematical which normally I’m very good at. The case study has one subject and there are several pages of information describing the subject. I’m being tested on three methods to come up with a final answer. Basically I have to find the information that applies to each method. Each question builds upon the other so let’s say you get question 3 wrong, then 4 through 10 will be wrong too. Here’s the kicker, I have no problem getting the final answer because of the method I’ve been using for the last 12 years at my job. Unfortunately none of that will help me answer everything in between. Also the terminology is different than what I’m use to. Basically I have to unlearn everything I know so I can wrap my head around what I’m supposed to be learning.
As I’m typing this it just dawned on me that I can compartmentalize each method. I read some things last night after I asked you that question. I did actually see what you were talking about, how emotion affects learning and memory. I also read about memory palace. I’ve never heard about this but apparently it was developed by ancient Romans and Greeks. If I knew about it, I forgot to store it in my palace haha.
Thank you for your help. As always, you gave me fun stuff to think about. Sorry if I bore you with all of the test information. I’m going to come up with a simple conclusion so Ill be able to rest tonight.
Mercy, you never bore me. That sounds like a big challenge! Definitely do not try to unlearn anything. Create hooks into what you already know to make the shift. Using the principles you already know, create a translation key. You know X method, they prefer Y method, both arrive at Z. Find the similarities and differences and you’ll make a key that works. Test each as you go and you will build to a successful conclusion. You’ve got this, and I’ll be pulling for you!
Mercy, Your problem reminded me of my 7th grade algebra class. My father was a math genius and taught me a shortcut to solve any problem. It was awesome. The teacher accused me of cheating which I took offense at. He asked me to prove how I was getting all the answers right and asked me to take a test in front of him using my father’s method. I did so and got 100%. He was furious and told me that he is banning my method and his method was required. So I resolved this by using my father’s method and then going back and filling in the long work after the fact. Equally easy, but time consuming. So keep your method. Something like, problem A = Z (your method) now fill in the clues consistent with your method. If method B = Z what clues lead to this being true. If method C = Z, what clues support that conclusion? When you read the paragraphs, use a straight underscore for A, a wavy underscore for B and a dotted underscore for C. That way, you can quickly refer back to the supporting information for each problem you solve. Hope I got that right and made sense.

FYC, I knew this would be a valuable lesson. That’s pretty much what I did for the last test. I used the answer and went backwards. Sometimes I had to do process of elimination to rule out the wrong answers. I have time before this next test so Im reading over the methods individually and taking my time in hopes that it’ll all click.
The last class I took with a co worker. She is also a math genius. When I looked over at her during class and saw the fear in her face I thought “well I’m fucked”. I think we both did well though. It’s just the fear of the unknown that messes with my head. Like what trickery will they try next?
I can actually relate to your story with the teacher. His way was obviously not well thought out in order to inspire his students to succeed. I feel the same way about the class I took. I want to rewrite the program. I think alot of times the people making these programs have never actually used them. They’re just trying to cram a bunch of info into a set amount of time.
Mercy, I would put my money on you. I am sure you and your friend will do well. When the objective is how to make a test difficult, the teacher/institution fails the student. It becomes more about the test and its difficulty than learning how things work. Knowing how things work is far, far more important and useful. Then again, I did learn how to work around those who are controlling very well. I will have to credit the Ns in my life for that skill.

FYC: I read your strategy on solving those math problems, and your teacher did not like it. Too sad: The more ways at our disposal to solve a problem the better, in life. I remember, when I was a pre-teen, and I loved reading historical romances before I accidentally branched off into espionage novels. My mom did not like really like me to read the historical romances, and a few times she asked me what I liked about a book that I was reading and I explained some of the story lines, and she was surprised and allowed me to continue to read them.
Anyway, in those great families, one of the situations that I found interesting, when reading those historical romances, was that the Parents or Guardian, etc. would bring in Teachers/Tutors, and if the child/children did not learn, the Teachers/Tutors would be the person that got in trouble and even at times, dismissed/fired. Now, in modern times, when children do not learn, the children are punished, in many school systems, and the teachers continue on practically unscathed. What a difference! You would make an excellent teacher, FYC. I wish I had someone like you, as a teacher, when I was in school and very young, when growing up.
