You have an interesting life, Renarde. My biggest events lately have been:
1) learning that the branch campus I worked at in the Fall has closed permanently. No sympathy for the Administration, but the office workers, students who had athletic scholarships, the veteran there on the GI Bill….
The Main Campus is a LOOOOOONG commute. Not all of them will be able to transfer there. There are online classes, but since the uni expects students and adjuncts to cover the ridiculous bandwidth required for all their stupid (and irrelevant, to my subject at least) gizmos, it will consume needless time and expense. Meanwhile, this was a rural area, and some of them had to work in the school library because they just can’t get a signal.
2) the homeless people who usually hit the local soup kitchen were handing objects to each other through the window of a currently unused university extension (different uni–spit, and you’ll hit one around here). They saw me seeing them, and I went on my merry way without notifying police. Hopefully, they won’t hit my apartment next: I have nothing worth stealing, and I handed out some reflector blankets from the Army Navy store the other day for those who are sleeping outside.
My mid ranger Somantic elite has lost lots of weight. Stopped eating and shaved his head. I am so upset. Why doesn’t he eat? He can! I chose it altered my routine and reduced trigger points. Our paths were going in a different direction and change was on its way but this delayed those changes. Things are staying the same for now. Its whats most comfortable but i realise it will change soon and thatll be an adjustment but change can be good and is growth. For so long ive been a creature of comfort to the point i stifle my growth out of fear. Due to some situations recently that has catapulted me out of my comfort zone and made me aware that ive been trying for so long to live in a bubble to avoid change. Change is inevitable. The covid situation has stalled the changes that were about to take place.

Exponential means X^e. THATS x to the power of e. Exponential is the INVERSE of natural logs. That mean ln =1/e when ln means natural log.
Expoentials and natural logs have been for decades in the proviso of ONLY maths and physics at A Level.
So when you see all these ‘death graphs’ what you are observing is a polynomial. So a poly is n^y where y is the poly the is 2, 3 4 etc. It is NOT exponential.
If our nations, the UK and US where to truly go mathematically exponential, you would be praying on your knees for God in the street.
I have been watching the data every day with intrest. The problem is, we do not have true live data so it’s almost impossible to predict a trend.
I do think we’ve are about to pass the peak in the UK. But I’m not an expert.
If people really want to help then stop eating so much meat. Farming is not really sustainable. Just eat less. Please.
My son’s father, who is a midrange narc, finally has time off from work, so my son asked to stay with his dad for a week. His father said yes, but my son was returned after a few days. My son is sad because his midranger father hasn’t even called to check on him, and he knows his dad isn’t busy, which is normally his excuse. I know he is better off with me. He is well supported in all aspects, but this has really affected my son over the past few weeks in a way that i didn’t predict.

So HG…Story time…………………It is now 4 weeks into the lock down. The N has depleted the IPPS of any and all negative fuel and must give a quite long respite. He has also managed to piss off quite a number of IPSS’s and NISS’s. He has lost them from the matrix. They had enough also.
Who does he go after for negative fuel? How does that work? Just wondering as I really do not see this letting up any time soon.

The IPPS would not be depleted of negative fuel. Assuming the narcissist and the IPPS are locked down together, during that period there would be an alternation between respite and devaluation and therefore the depletion to which you refer, Kim, would not have occurred.

During the lockdown most narcissists will be focussed on what is in front of them and the shelf IPSS/DLS will not figure in the mind that much of the narcissist. Many shelf appliances of an intimate nature make the mistake of thinking they are often in the mind of the narcissist. They are not. When there is a Hoover Trigger, this MIGHT (if the HEC are met) cause the narcissist to hoover the IPSS to ascertain (unconsciously) that control is being maintained, however there are a number of factors which govern the reaction of the narcissist. The narcissist is not sat there thinking “All is okay with the IPSS because she cannot go anywhere” so I have control.
This is really good info HG! To dig a little deeper – so does this mean Hoover triggers might occur in this situation but the unique factors of this situation – influence the execution criteria…ie IPPS and kids are always around, no privacy etc??
Yes, there will be undoubtedly increased risk of Hoover Triggers but there may be shifts in the relevant Hoover Execution Criteria that mean that the hoovers do not occur. If you read the book The Narcissist and Covid-19 there is more detail on this point, there.
Kim e, I once did not respond to MRN and then there was a terrorist attack. His emails got increasingly frantic (for him) so I answered but I also sensed that he was persisting not because of the attack but rather because I had not answered him. The only other time he did that was when Trump was elected (another kind of disaster). I think he expected me to run to him and when I didn’t, he checked in with me. But again it was because of his expectations rather than anything that had happened. I was only on his mind when I challenged him through silence.
