Speaking of people who take advantage of the weak, i watched yesterday a documentary about men who offer to take in young students in excahnge for huose work but end up asking them for intimate relationships. The reporter found the offer online and booked an apointment with the landlord, they met on a bar, the man started asking the girl to make sure that she is verry poor and had no revenue for now, when she confirmed, he said it’s ok she would need to do some house work and prepare the meals, the girl agreed, but when they went to visit the house, the girl wanted to confirm that it was indeed rent free, then the man told her that of course they would have to sleep together once or twice a week. The girl was with a hiden camera, so we could hear the voices, he told her that she would have to sleep with him with the same voice in wich he was describing the kitchen and the bathroom, a monotone and clame voice, no hesitation, no awkwardness in his body language, nothing !

My somatic ex husband is almost 60 YO, nearly 40 lbs overweight, diabetic, high blood pressure, heart disease, yet he still sees himself as the prize. His role model is Neal James from the Turtleman show. Yuck.

GB, that’s hilarious! I used to always think people like this were ‘fronting it’ and that they must really have a hold on it, that they couldn’t possibly see themselves as handsome or beautiful if they weren’t. HG taught me that they actually genuinely believe their own hype. It’s nuts! absolute nuts!

Everyone thinks of themselves as attractive don’t they?

When I was 14 years old a man who was in his late 50s/60s asked me for my number and I said “don’t you think you should be talking to someone your own age”
And he said “what? A woman in her 50’s? Im offended”
But he didn’t think that I would be offended???

Everyone, and truly everyone, knew Harvey was bad news. He wasn’t nearly as “powerful” as he loved to pretend/portray. His “victims” were women who were often happy to trade for gain. Not all, that was his downfall. He would have gone on forever but lots of things play a part

It’s just like putting a pair of glasses on for the first time when you eyesight has been failing.

It becomes so clear when you know what to look for and amazing again that narcissism is not mentioned. It solves so many mysteries in terms of these people’s behaviours. And how they can be in denial of the same.

Bill Cosby also came to mind as did Rolf Harris. Trusted performers who took a mighty fall and rightly so.
