Dear Tudorite,

 

 

I have been flooded with comments and emails expressing concern about the disappearance of the Ultra channel.  Your concern and support is appreciated.

 

  1. I recently created an in depth analysis of Tom Bower´s book. Revenge, examining the evidence, comparing the material with other evidence and theories regarding Harry´s Wife, explaining what was happening through the prism of narcissism and expanding on various facets of narcissism in greater detail. This series was very well received and increased people´s understanding.
  2. ViacomCBS on behalf of the publishers of Revenge issued copyright claims approximately one month after the series began. This resulted in copyright strikes against the channel which meant that termination of the channel would occur if there was no resolution to the dispute.
  3. I am pleased to state that ViacomCBS and I amicably resolved the situation and promptly. I agreed to remove the series (it had already served its purpose) and they agreed they would remove their copyright complaint and thus remove the copyright strikes allowing the channel to continue. Thus, they achieved their aim of protecting the material, I achieved my aim of maintaining my channel. This was a sensible and mutually beneficial outcome.
  4. ViacomCBS promptly wrote to YouTube ahead of the threatened termination date, you can see below their email.

 

  1. The provision of this e-mail would withdraw the copyright complaint and also remove the copyright strikes allowing the channel to continue.
  2. Two further reminders were sent to YouTube in light of the impending deadline.
  3. Notwithstanding ViacomCBS´email and the reminders, YouTube failed to withdraw the copyright strikes resulting in the channel being terminated.
  4. It is also noteworthy that YouTube did not even notify me that the channel had been removed.
  5. The removal of the channel is clearly in error and it should be reinstated forthwith. This channel informs and entertains many, many people. Its information has saved countless lives and livelihoods and it is patently wrong for the channel to be lost as a consequence of YouTube´s failure to abide by the outcome of a process which they themselves encourage by wanting the parties to a copyright complaint to resolve it between them.
  6. You can assist in this process by complaining to YouTube direct using this process

  1. Sign in to YouTube.
  2. Select your profile picture. Send feedback.
  3. Describe the issue you’re experiencing. The more info you include in your report, the more helpful it is for us.
  4. Choose if you want to include a screenshot. You can highlight info on the screen or remove personal info.
  5. Click Send.

 

  1. It would also assist by “making some noise” on social media calling for the channel´s return.
  2. An appeal has been lodged against this incorrect action.
