Trait Detector

TRAIT DETECTOR

Which of your traits are most vulnerable to exploitation?

You have been ensnared by a narcissist.

Most likely, you are an empath, a collection of empathic and  narcissistic traits.

You need to know what those traits are.

You may still be ensnared seeking to escape.

You may have escaped and be fending off the Initial Grand Hoover and/or Follow-Up Hoovers.

You may be on the shelf and tackling the pick-up/put-down dynamic.

You may have been disengaged from and are dealing with the aftermath.

You may be dealing with a malice campaign.

You may be caught in ongoing interactions making Total No Contact harder than usual.

You may be trying to keep the narcissist at bay.

You may be trying to deal with purging the effects of the narcissist from your life.

Those scenarios and others besides all have one thing in common – Emotional Thinking, the Enemy Within.

Emotional Thinking will ALWAYS seek to exploit what you are to feed your innate addiction to the narcissist. This addiction is lifelong and poses a constant threat but it is one which can be managed and successfully. To achieve this, you need to know what it is about you that is at risk from exploitation from your Emotional Thinking.

If you do not know, how can you then GOSO?

Will the fact you are an empathic truth seeker be your undoing?

Perhaps your narcissistic sense of pride will cause continued conflict with the narcissist?

Might your compassion be used against you to draw you back in?

Maybe the empathic trait of guilt will be harnessed?

Then again, it could be the narcissistic trait of infidelity which lures you back?

There is a wide range of empathic and narcissistic traits. Which ones are applicable to you and which are not?

Whether it is a past, current or future ensnarement, you need to be armed to defeat your emotional thinking and the lurking narcissist drawn to your empathic status.

Use the Trait Detector to understand what your empathic and narcissistic traits are.

Use the Trait Detector and find out NOW what it is about you that is the most vulnerable to exploitation by your Emotional Thinking, so you can then address and tackle it and in turn beat the narcissist.

Thank you HG for this wonderful analysis. Once again I am amazed at how accurately you can describe me and not even know me! This is a must for all readers!

    1. HG Tudor says:

      You are welcome CM

  2. MommyPino says:

What if a Mid Ranger takes this test and there are no empathic traits identified? That would have to be quite awkward.

    1. HG Tudor says:

There is a particular result which would arise from a MRN taking the test although I cannot explain it as that would affect the efficacy of the consultation. What I can say of course is that the MRN would not accept the outcome because their narcissism would not allow it.

      1. MommyPino says:

HG that would be really entertaining. I wish I could witness that

      2. Asp Emp says:

It was good to read this comment, HG 🙂

  3. Anm says:

HG, have you ever seen a Pretrial Sentencing Report for criminal court proceedings? They are a bit fascinating, because someone actually has a job of gathering info on the defendent to make a recommendation to the judge about sentencing. They do evaluate the defendants empathic and narcissistic traits during the discovery phase. They have to be able to tell the judge WHY this person committed the crime, and the chance that they will repeat offenders.

    1. HG Tudor says:

I have and I have also seen reports relating to child contact and residence applications which evaluate a range of behaviour, which also deals with the empathic and narcissistic traits.

      1. Anm says:

The evaluation report for my child custody hearings was a joke. The judge assigned a social worker to do it. She only had a masters in education, with a certificate in counseling. She did not look for narcissism. Her report was dangerously incorrect, and we might have to redo it.
I had to do a pretrial report for a dui, that one was more accurate. They said I had no regards to following the law just for the sake of following the law. So they said that is what my criminal trait was. But they said I was highly empathic, and I would follow court orders and the laws if I knew it would help someone in some way, or if it aligned with my convictions. Therefore I had a poor driving record, but that was all.

        1. HG Tudor says:

The existence of and impact of narcissism is chronically overlooked in such situations and similar ones.

          1. lisk says:

            HG, I know you’re busy but . . .

Can’t you earn a quick social work degree (seems like anybody can get them), get the necessary letters behind your name, and provide these evaluations at a reasonable fee?

          2. HG Tudor says:

Which evaluations are you referring to Lisk, mine or the ones ANM was referring to (child contact etc)?

          3. lisk says:

“evaluation report” for child custody hearings.

You already do the other ones without need for letters.

          4. HG Tudor says:

            Thank you for clarifying.

Well I certainly would bring some actual clarity to the behaviours through the writing of the reports (as I have when advising people through consultation) and I recognise the need to slam some letters after my name in order to generate legitimacy from the relevant powers that be with regard to the writing of such reports.

          5. lisk says:

Slam those letters, then, please, and use them for good not evil.

But hide them in public because a social work degree—even a psych degree— seems too lowly for you.

          6. HG Tudor says:

No degree is too lowly, but there are significant degrees between degrees!

          7. njfilly says:

You are so unique and intelligent, I love it.

I wonder if you are comparable to an average man, for example, unable to find an item in the refrigerator that is directly in front of you?

I imagine you calling out to the Shield Maiden; “Oh, Shield Maiden? Faithful, loyal Shield Maiden; I beseech thee, wouldst thou come to aideth me in securing my relevant condiment for thine Shepherd’s Pie?” – or something similar to this, as I assume this to be the way wealthy gentlemen and ladies speak to each other privately in the UK.

          8. HG Tudor says:

            Thank you.

No, the lady who lives in the fridge always anticipates me my needs and hands the required item to me as soon as I open the fridge door.

I do not eat Shepherd´s Pie, it would be Cottage Pie, albeit I have not had it in years.

The upper classes in the UK do not speak to one another directly, we speak through the servants.

          9. njfilly says:

Oh, I see. Thank you for clarifying.

          10. HG Tudor says:

The last sentence was a joke by the way!

          11. njfilly says:

Well again, thank you for clarifying, as I then imagined your intimate evenings in the bedroom to be somewhat awkward.

I won’t bother sharing what came to mind as the possible scenario between yourselves with the servants involved!

          12. HG Tudor says:

Oh did that six months ago, share away.

          13. njfilly says:

I’m sorry, I don’t understand. You did what six months ago?

Off topic, but, don’t you have trait detector questionnaires to analyze?!

          14. HG Tudor says:

It was a joke re the servants.

          15. Violetta says:

They’d never let HG graduate unless he pretended to believe in their bullshit and didn’t throw off their curve. Those fields are a cesspool of mid-rangers.

When I was in grad school, I had a neighbor I used to chat with when we met in the laundry room. She was an undergraduate, majoring in English, and told me about a Shakespeare paper she was writing that blew me away. I could not have written that paper when I was an undergraduate.

She applied to the grad English Education program and was turned down. She said, “I can’t understand it; my friend got in, and her GPA was lower.” I said, “I wonder if she got in because her GPA was lower.” Checked with a reenactor friend who worked in the graduate school office, and she said, “That’s exactly how the College of Education does things. They want to keep their curve; they would never let your neighbor in.” She switched to French education, but generations of students will miss out, because instead of teachers like her, they’re getting the latest approved crop of Dolores Umbridges.

It’s the same in Social Work and getting almost as bad in Psychology. Mid-rangers not only want to keep out empaths like my neighbor, unless they get to manipulate them, they also want to keep out Greaters. A lot of these people are barely competent. As Samuel Johnson noted, “comparisons are odious.” They are especially odious to mid-rangers.

On the other hand, we’re talking HG, and he knows how to turn on the charm and hide his contempt when it’s to his advantage.

          16. HG Tudor says:

            Correct.

        2. WhoCares says:

          Anm,

“The judge assigned a social worker to do it. She only had a masters in education, with a certificate in counseling. She did not look for narcissism. Her report was dangerously incorrect”

          That is so concerning.
I may be finding myself in a similar situation soon.

          1. Anm says:

            WhoCares,
If you are concerned about facing a similar situation, read the book, Splitting by Bill Eddy and Randi Kreger. The book specifically goes over a step by step plan with how to deal with court evaluations, why narcissist often “win”/cheat custody evaluations, why the empathic parent often loses, how to present your case to get a favorable outcome, and what to do it you think the Evaluator has turned against you. I wish I read the book a few years ago. You can find it on Amazon.

      2. Lorelei says:

Having WP issues again and could not reply under the comment of degrees being too low. Started a reply and lost it. (I think)
Indeed, no degree is too low. There are slimy upper lessers practicing DUI law for instance. Same juris doctorate degree. Being taken seriously and your degree combined with a CV is influence. Not the degree alone. Sure, if you were a licensed forensic psychologist or psychiatrist you have the pinnacle of degrees for your work maybe, but then again not really. Why? You could be perceived as an unethical fruitcake to provide empath material/questions, or narc detectors by some. Current didactics do not support your estimates on narcissism, will they ever? Unlikely. I support it entirely as do many of your readers, but had to hit bottom to do so. This will not be the tradition of the normal so majority support is far from likely.
I can pursue licensure to diagnose and “treat” axis II conditions absolutely, but it makes my stomach hurt! If I do it’ll be for more academic prowess and not writing Zoloft prescriptions. So, maybe HG—it is perfect as it is. And—when my a/c blows a guy with a heating & air degree is pretty valuable. Why would that be “low.”??

        1. Violetta says:

Plumbers can always find work. Especially now, when all this tp substitutes are clogging the works.

        2. njfilly says:

I’m also having WP problems. I don’t see any replies to my comments, I can’t like comments, and I can’t post comments through WP. I must go directly to the blog. Perhaps Mr. Tudor would want to know this.

          1. HG Tudor says:

            Mr Tudor now knows.

          2. njfilly says:

Ok, Mr. Tudor. I want you to know this as it does interfere with my interactions on the blog.

I also can’t like comments through the blog.

          3. ashleyrose100 says:

Mine had problems too, it made me mad so I deleted my WP account a few days ago & made a new one today lol I’ll see if it works

      3. njfilly says:

I’m a little late seeing this comment, but, what is the playlist? Do you really enjoy music? What other bands do you like besides Depeche Mode? Or should I be saving these questions for Sunday’s Q&A?

        1. HG Tudor says:

With regard to the role of music, if you access “Is it a Manipulation” and insert music into the scenarios presented there, you will have your answer NJF.

I recommend you ask me on Sunday!

  5. SoldierOfLuv says:

HG off topic . I kind off stayed in touch with only the online narcs . They all are somatic low midrange narcs and one middle or upper midrange elite . I did it because my own interest in pshycology and most defiently your work in this large spectrum and obviously my own addiction as well so I’ve really noticed that they just seem to be the same person it’s just the fact that they send me a private Snapchat that I could be sure that was not the case . They all interact in the same way . They all hoovering me now as well benign they want me to be their wife this is just ridicilous . Oh one I did meet in person because he targeted me offline . I think I have so much trust in your work even more now . I’am very proud off your awarness and look foward learning more and more from you .

    1. HG Tudor says:

Thank you.You must ensure that you prevent this hoovering because of the risks posed by them individually and Cross Pollution.

      1. Gina says:

        What’s cross pollution?

I’m anxiously awaiting my results. The Final Jeopardy music playing in the background for 96 hours! Ha ha. The questionnaire IS comprehensive. HG covered all the bases to ferret out the traits.

    1. WhoCares says:

Haha MB – I can hear the music!

      1. MB says:

I‘ll give y’all an update when I get mine back. It’s going to be mind blowing!

        1. theletterafterj says:

Hahahahaha…I am looking forward to it!

        2. blackcoffee30 says:

MB — what were your results?

          1. MB says:

Hi BC30, I never came back to it did I? Jeopardy music still playing 🤣

I had representation of all 10 narcissistic and all 10 empathic traits. Of course I was confirmed to be highly empathic which wasn’t a surprise but was not the aim of this particular consultation. The questionnaire is quite accurate as it homed in to reveal that my narcissistic trait of defiance is the most likely to be hijacked by my ET to derail my NC regime. All that know me would agree as to my strong trait of defiance. Especially my mother!! It’s not so much stubbornness as it is the fact that I don’t like to be told what to do and this detector picked up on that distinction. I found it quite interesting and very helpful to be forewarned of what could look logical to me, but actually be flawed and trip me up. I highly recommend this detector. One more plate in your armor of logic defenses.

        3. Thanks for sharing. I did it and also highly recommend it. I can’t say I was surprised my N traits were so high, but I was surprised that a couple of them were so low. Defiance and Pride were my highest– no shocker there, and now I know how those put me at risk of ensnarement and breaking NC.

I’m having a consult in a couple weeks to discuss my ED and TD results as they relate to one another.

          1. HG Tudor says:

Remember they are relative to one another

    2. Sweetest Perfection says:

So exciting! Please, keep us posted! I will need to wait a little bit; my priority now is sending money home to help my family. I’m worried about my sister losing her job more than anyone else. I’ll take it as soon as I can though.

  8. alexissmith2016 says:

Everyone should learn those traits they have which are susceptible to becoming an N magnet! In understanding yourself you can be armed and prepared.

    1. HG Tudor says:

      HG approves.

  9. Whitney says:

    Dear HG, the God.
One thing I’m doing to triangulate the Somatic is I dress the same as another guy at our sport. The other guy is an Empath – positive and easy going, and we laugh lots together! We started matching our outfits, and I’m getting matching headbands for me and him, and a girl with an effervescent personality who we joke with too.
The Somatic will be furious 😁 I can’t wait to take the trait detector and find out what trait I’m exhibiting by taunting him.

    1. lisk says:

      Foolishness?

      1. WokeAF says:

        ET

        1. lisk says:

          Is ET a trait?

          1. HG Tudor says:

            No, it is a condition.

      2. Whitney says:

Another thing I’m doing to annoy him is talking about buying shares, which is his expertise and profession. I don’t know anything about finance. He hates it. I claimed my friend (who also knows nothing) said that it’s a good time to invest. That was insulting to him. I might get another Narcs at our sport into a conversation about it, and ask the other Narc for advice.

        1. Violetta says:

Whitney, why are you talking to him? Hole up with people you can trust and tell stories to pass the time, as they did during the Plague in Boccaccio’s Decameron.

          1. Whitney says:

OK Violetta, I will do that 💞 the narcissist is empty right? They are nothing. The relationship involves my essence only.

    2. alexissmith2016 says:

hilarious! exactly the sort of thing I would do! Thanks for the tip Whitney!

      1. Whitney says:

Hehe Alexis 😊 I wish you could come to my sport. It’s fun to categorise everyone based on HG’s work. There are about 70 people and 6 times more men than women. Lots of Narcs, normals and empaths. We are randomly placed in teams. Most of the organisers are Narcs. Sometimes I’m in a team with multiple Narcs. I like to watch them physically clash during the matches. We go to the pub after too!

        1. alexissmith2016 says:

Hahaha it would be great to share in this fun! I wish I could too Whitney

          1. Whitney says:

Omg you would absolutely love it! 😄

        2. njfilly says:

          Whitney:

That sounds like fun. Particularly going to the pub afterward.

What sport are you playing? Any situation involving 6 times more men than women is OK by me!

          1. Whitney says:

Hi njfilly! Hehe it is fun! So sorry I would love to tell YOU the sport but I can’t say because it could identify me to people reading. My city + the specific sport.
Anyway if you go to any mixed social sport, there are way more men than women! Try it njfilly after covid clears up. I wish you could come to my sport with me. (It is cancelled now due to covid – good for my no contact)

    3. Ashley says:

      Whitney,
You shouldn’t attempt to manipulate – you cannot do it. You cannot outsmart him. You will get hurt. ☹

      1. HG Tudor says:

        Correct.

    4. Gina says:

I agree. I tried various things to get back at him, make him see what he was doing, act like I didn’t care…..he’s always better I guess from the way his brain works and practice. My lawyer wanted me to handle some of the smaller things with him, but they always turn into giant frustrations. Right now I’m getting the electronic silent treatment, and frankly it’s probably best for me. Yesterday he had our daughter return an old photo album of my mother’s, it had cat urine sprayed all over it. What a guy. But I know that is the initial contact play. Be careful you’re dragging it on. More pain.

  10. lisk says:

This is EXACTLY what I need for work.

Next week, though. Just spent my whole paycheck on panic-buying food that I don’t want (I function best with a very bare fridge) and wine that I have no room for (no cellar here!).

    1. Sweetest Perfection says:

Lisk, I turned my house into a wine cellar too. Forget toilet paper! Priorities priorities…

  11. Whitney says:

HG the God. I will definitely do this wonderful new detector to gain insight. I can’t wait.

    1. HG Tudor says:

Get stuck in, your will find it comprehensive, fascinating and very helpful.

  12. Sweetest Perfection says:

Oui. Il faut que je le fasse au plus vite. I need to take this asap.

    1. HG Tudor says:

      Yes, you do.

  13. K says:

Defiance (narcissistic trait) syncs up with my truth seeker (empathic) trait and I have almost no control over what comes out of my mouth (challenge fuel) and I love it!

    1. Violetta says:

      K:

“I have almost no control over what comes out of my mouth”

      I resemble that remark!

      1. K says:

        Violetta
        Hahahahaha…it’s an empath thing.

It all makes perfect sense, both our empathic and narcissistic traits are corrupted by our ET. It’s a recipe for disaster.

    2. Lorelei says:

K—I can’t digest more of what is wrong with me right now. Not this week! Ugh

      1. K says:

        Lorelei
There is nothing wrong with you! You are perfect just the way you are. You just need to work on your ET.

        1. Lorelei says:

          Don’t I know! F*^%!!

    3. K says:

      Thank you HG!
That was great! ET hijacks my Narcissistic trait of Pride which syncs up with my Truth Seeker Trait. Hahaha…no surprise there!

The balance is fantastic: light and dark, yin and yang, Scully and Mulder (X-Files), Jedi and Sith.
If I were a cookie, I would almost be a half moon cookie (first or last quarter).

The spread of narcissistic traits is pretty cool. My inner Narcissist battles with my inner Empath, however, my inner Empath usually wins.

      1. HG Tudor says:

Glad you found it useful and interesting, it is something that many people will benefit from and the outcomes are very interesting.

  14. fox says:

Ooooo, gonna have to do this one soon.

    1. HG Tudor says:

      Sensible step.

  15. njfilly says:

Oh, very interesting. I will be purchasing this tonight. I want Mr. HG Tudor to analyze my personality traits.

    1. HG Tudor says:

Jolly good, you will find it very enlightening.

  16. WokeAF says:

Oooooh! Fun. This is on the list

    1. HG Tudor says:

More than fun WAF, an essential defence!

  17. CandaceMarie says:

Is this like the empath detector?

    1. HG Tudor says:

      Different.

      1. Gina says:

Different from the empath detector, so you will not tell us what type of empath we are during this consult?

        1. HG Tudor says:

No, the Empath Detector tells you if you are an empath and if so, which school and cadre.
The Trait Detector tells you which traits you have, both empathic and narcissistic, the strength of those traits and which ones are at the greatest vulnerability to exploitation from ET. It is very carefully constructed and will be a fascinating outcome and interesting in itself as you work through a very comprehensive questionnaire. Don’t delay, join the others who have obtained it.

      2. CandaceMarie says:

Thanks HG. This is definitely something I will have to do!

        1. HG Tudor says:

          I agree.

      3. FoolMe1Time says:

HG it’s different then the empath detector, so the information I have from both detectors will help in discovering even more of my many issues? I don’t know if I can handle anymore? But I’ll give it a shot anyhow!

        HG, is that your eye?

        1. HG Tudor says:

You will find it most enlightening. It is not so much about “issues” but providing you a comprehensive break-down of the relevant and extent of your empathic and narcissistic traits along with which ones are most susceptible to exploitation by emotional thinking.

          1. FoolMe1Time says:

Thank you HG. I will be purchasing this on Friday, as long as the stores are open to buy a new gift card?

            HG, is that your eye?

          2. HG Tudor says:

            No, its not.
