Power. Absolute Power.

th (8)

I crave power. I want it more than anything else. It is the product of  requiring all attention to be directed at me and upon me. The sensation of impregnability and might is epic in its effect. I want power. I want it over others and most of all I want it over you. The degree by which I shall pursue power is only limited by what I believe I can get away with. I take the view that owing to my special status I am above rules, codes of conduct, conventions, procedures and laws. Since I find myself unshackled by these hindrances, I am free to pursue my quest for the attainment of power with utter and total conviction. What I require is complete and total hegemonic domination. Hitler ? His invasions were Sunday afternoon walks in the park? Stalin ? He exercised plenty of power but where did it really get him? Genghis Khan? He showed promise. My single-minded focus goes beyond those men and is a never-ending mission to obtain power.

This power is best obtained when you are prevented from defending yourself. Yes, I want you to bend over and take it and thank me for it afterwards. You are not allowed to protest. You are not allowed to demur ,complain or heaven forfend put up and kind of fight. I want you disarmed and defenceless. That’s why I embark on such a savage campaign when I devalue you, that you end up completely confused and disorientated. I want you swaying, punch-drunk and eyes glazed, urging me to put you out of your misery. Once I have reduced to this state I know I can do as I please and that I have attained absolute power over you. Then the next victim will loom in my sights…….

  1. The powerful pace at which you churn out new material of late is mighty impressive HG. Talk about stamina- sheesh!

You like power, some of us are compelled to hand over our power…your kind doesn’t appreciate our self determination.

At the end of my relationship he said “I never ever could quite catch you or get to you.” It was a powerful testament to his frustration that…when push came to shove…I still had enough spirit to break free.

It’s the nicest compliment I ever heard from him.

  2. Well yeah, you need absolute power…over everything and everyone. And you will lie, cheat, and manipulate to obtain/maintain that power. What I don’t understand is why you don’t seek public office…running for/being an elected official would give you such power over so many (and yes, I’ve mentioned to my mother that she would do well to seek public office).

  3. Its is addictive and powerfully addictive. A poweraddicted will not stop even if he sees everything is comming down and power is scaping him. All is valid for regaining power.
I see this on how the high money making industries are managed. All about power and competing for power.
On the relationship level is pretty much the same thing. Very well explained. Disarm, make defenceless, reign and conquer.
The other one has no chance.. Is lost because by the time its realized -if it happens-its too late. The other person is caught and even biochemically.
Very good posting. I saw its from the past.. I did not remember having read it.

  4. I’m glad you said the “sensation of impregnability”, rather than the fact of…. You definitely are always thinking ahead. For even the unsinkable Titanic…sunk.

  5. Yes you do need complete power and control over everyone and everything in your life. It must be exhausting and stressful. But where does that need come from? I would suggest it is because you do not have full control of your own self!

    1. I neither find it stressful or exhausting in gathering fuel and exerting control. I find it exhausting when fuel runs low as my power wanes. I also find that if this condition is prolonged it is stressful. Where does the need for power and control come from? The need comes from the necessity of extracting fuel by means of controlling an individual so that they both provide fuel and remain bound to us. This need also is necessary in order to assert our status, our superiority and our sense of entitlement. The need for power and control is required to keep the treacherous traitors at bay, to isolate the primary source of fuel from those who might interfere in the provision of our fuel and also to maintain the façade. The need for power and control is such because there is always a slight element of concern that it could all come toppling down like a house of cards if we allow chance to play a part to too great a degree. Naturally I don’t have that concern, given the control and scheming I exert but it is there for others. Those are the things which necessitate the power and the control, but what lies behind that. Is it because we do not have control of ourselves as you suggest? There is merit indeed in what you suggest. The need to control and have power over the creature could be regarded as being at the hub of the need since it must be kept imprisoned, beaten down, chained and silenced. At times, that can take considerable effort.

  6. That is exactly what I was driving at HG, thank you as always for a very comprehensive answer. It seems to me that the creature is contained but not controlled.
