Right on. My ex Narc has always gotten away with most things his whole life. Mind blowing truly!!! 😒 But there will come a day…. there is always a day 😃
I was always blamed when id get upset over certain behaviours. Hed reassure me that it was only me and said i was insecure. I was insecure and with good reasons. The gaslighting mainly his sweet and accomidating nature made it difficult to see i was correct to feel that way. Most narcs are great actors
Adele, you are so right about the gas lighting!!! It was always just my insecurities showing. My narc even had my own attourney convinced I was crazy for a little bit!! Thank God he finally figured him out and is doing a fantastic job for me now.

Ah but the catch is, it is not really free.
You have to pay to get out of jail. You have to pay for us to stay. You have to pay to get the Golden Period back, if you are lucky enough to warrant a repeat visit to that coveted time and place.
Since finding HG, what I pay now is pennies on the dollar. Immaterial. If I didn’t find him, I would totally agree, BE.

I do believe, and HG please correct me if I’ve got this wrong, but that “Get Out Of Jail Free” card is for us, not for them. It means that we will get away with anything and everything that we have done, and you will always be left with the blame for the consequences of our deeds. This will be true in the eyes of others, as we will see to it, and sometimes even in your own eyes as well.
Indeed Triad and by blaming them we get to use this card repeatedly.
I did not take it that way since our kind does not need a “get out of jail card free” since we are never in the wrong or at fault.
Only those at fault or in the wrong need a card like that in a lame effort to try and save themselves.
Quite right, B_E. We have it, but we don’t need it. They need it, most desperately, but they don’t have it. Sounds about right to me.
Does this mean we can escape, or that you are going to put us in jail? I like Boardwalk and Park Ave property.

on the other side I was repeatedly saying: one day when I will have enough and will need to run away I take my kid’s toy gun and go to bank, pretend to want to rob it, wait for the police just to be put in jail… away from him…safe and free… I will never forget this idea of mine!
It is curious that many of us victims prefer to go in the jail (a punishment to ourselves) rather than alienate them and go back to being free and living our own lives. As if the guilt was so deep within us to continue to protect our executioners who are guilty, but not feel it (them free, we in jail).
but yet we are free… not even isolated as in jail You work see others… not scared of him coming back from work. .. or entering the bedroom…
That’s odd, HG. My card has the same picture but the words are slightly different. The top part has “Escape from Narcatraz” and the bottom part has “BREAK OUT”. It’s the strangest thing.
