When I read your comments I can sense a deep wounded soul. I do not know what you have been through but you are certainly in deep pain.
If you read the books and the posts provided here you will understand. I am not justifying abuse in any way. By learning you at least will find answers to your questions being the starting point of moving on.

It is a fact that they are among us. Due to a combination of genetic traits and /or life circumstances( abuse during childhood).
They do not have empathy,remorse,sense of guilt, conscience.
What choices do they have? It is hard to say if they do have a choice. Those who are aware and could have choices perhaps do not see the need of doing it. How could they if they do not have the ability of remorse for what they do?
Wouldn’t it be better to ask yourself :
What choices do YOU have? : learning, being aware of their existence, protecting yourself and staying away from them.

I know there is the debate on nature vs nurture with narcissism but in the cases where it is extreme childhood abuse, especially from birth or inflicted daily I tend to think this creates someone who only knows how to function each day by ensuring no one around them carries anything resembling hope either.
