Yep remember that a version of it at least…I would hear “when did that happen?” Or I would hear “what are you talking about that’s not what I said?” “You took that all the wrong way …well I meant it this way but your being all sensitive damn cant nobody say nothing to you without you taking everything so serious”… “goodness gracious when did I say that …I didnt not say that”
How do I share these?
This is my mother always gaslighting and revising history. Its annoying when you talk about memories or relive something only to be told it happened differently and 9 times out of 10 she wasnt there. Always being made to second guess yourself which is the desired result. It wouldnt matter what i brought up she would tell me her version of how it really happened. The most upsetting is when she does this in front of others. I always stand up to her but it leaves an awkwardness after and im sure thats her intent to sabatoge the get together.
I feel a level of anxiety whenever i have to be around her and now take a shot of cbd oil which helps so much. The constant conflict with whatever i say has ruined so many occasions. If it wasnt for my kids id not bother inviting her.
