The Futility Of Your Feelings
Feelings are an unnecessary burden and thankfully I have been relieved of many of them, being left only with those which are deemed necessary to enable me to pursue the harvesting of fuel. Feelings blur and weaken. How many times have you heard your alarm go off in the morning and you have rolled over feeling like you do not want to get up? Many times I should imagine. That feeling of apprehension about what the day holds for you, despondency at what has happened to you and dread about what you have to do weakens you and holds you back. You spend much of your life in the pursuit of this notion of happiness but are you ever truly happy? Do you look at what you have and wish you had more? Do you look at other people around you and imagine how happy they must be and you wish that you were more like them? All you achieve is bitterness. Perhaps you do feel happy but as the empath that you are you see those who you regard as less happy than you and you wish that they could be more like you. All you achieve is vanity. You spend so much of your time seeking to be happy and then you worry about whether it is fleeting in nature. You express concern that you just want to be happy and spend more and more time trying to achieve this state of nirvana. You suffer from feeling sadness which leads to paralysis and indecision. You feel frustrated which sucks up your energy and leaves you feeling spent. You take pride in your ability to feel and to be able to feel on behalf of others yet all you are doing is allowing yourself to be burdened. Why bother pursuing those feelings which are regarded as positive, such as joy, happiness and elation? Is the effort truly worth it when you get there only for it to be a fleeting moment which then casts you into despondency? What was the point of that? Why allow yourself to be mired in upset, misery and dejection? You achieve nothing as you slowly sink into a quagmire of such negativity. Your feelings deceive you, press down on you and above all else allow us to manipulate you. It is because you feel this array of emotions that you provide us with emotional reactions. Of course you know that these emotional reactions create my fuel. Your feelings are to blame.
I never acquired these feelings. This is because the pursuit of fuel cannot be distracted by these cumbersome emotions. They serve no purpose and thus were never developed. I am built for the acquisition of fuel and nothing else. I am an efficient design, single-minded and driven. All excess baggage was not jettisoned, it was never stowed on board to begin with. I am not wholly without feelings. I have been developed in a way to allow certain feelings, those that aid my purpose, to come to the fore. I feel fury which ensures that I can exert control over other people and thus extract fuel from them. I feel envy which drives me on to strip away those traits from other people which I need to create my construct. If I felt no envy, I would not want these characteristics – thus this feeling serves a purpose. There is no superfluous feeling connected with me. I feel jealousy which again causes me to strive to better that person by lauding my own achievements and prompting a reaction which garners positive fuel or by berating the person of whom I am jealous and thus I harvest negative fuel. I feel hatred. This allows me to see everything as it truly is. Hatred hones and brings into sharp focus the reality of this cruel world and thus I am better able to navigate my way through it. Hatred is visceral, it is not fluffy or amorphous. It does not cloud or blur. It is direct, straight to the point and electrifying in its capacity to allow me to always go forward. All of these feelings and ones of a similar nature have been fashioned around me to assist me in my quest for fuel. Each one discharges a method of enabling me to gather fuel so that I can feel the ultimate emotion. My pursuit of fuel is predicated on the use of these various emotions with the sole purpose of allowing me to feel that emotion which I prize above all others.
I feel powerful.

Darwin refuted his Theory of Evolution. He adamantly professed that the sample size he used was too small and that he discovered that he had erred. The powers of his day told him to shut up, that the Evolution train had left the station, and for him to go and bother around with something else, and here we are, with people still believing in that colossal error of `scientific thought,` and perhaps people are still still teaching it, (I have no idea if that false theory is still being taught), but many parents have protested that theory being taught to their children, the last I heard, years ago. Many other people have rejected it, but are silent, while many still believe in all that. lol.

in science there is no such things as believes, there is either enaugh data and then, the right word is knowlege, or there is no suffuscient data, so we say that we don’t know. it has nothing to do with what one wants to be true, it is about facts that can be verified, tested an reproduced.
Liza. Yeah. The scientific consensus has always interested me. And many theories that have been pushed in the name of proven scientific data, has interested me. People have been destroyed and even killed for going against established, believed to be factual by the most renown authorities, but false, `scientific` data. Scientists, in many fields, are a busy lot. And there is still much science, floating about, falsely called. And, I am sure we do not need to start a list of all the scientific theories and data that have failed, in many fields, despite how much they were admired and propped up by those of scientific authority, and by those of scientific expertise and aided by their promoters and their protecters, many of which had great wealth and power. Many accepted and promoted scientific theories are still failing. Many scientists have lived their entire lives and and then died believing many errors and falsehoods in their science, some of their own making. Observe but do not absorb, as much as possible. Buyer Beware, even of the latest `Science`.

look when a scientific theory is published, it is only after being reviewed buy other scientiist who are competent in the field, the protocole used is perfectly discribed and other scientist can replicate the resultes, when the resultes are replicated several times and they are matching then we can accepte it as true, untill we can do better. it is not about a dogmatic position.
Liza: The Earth is Flat is one of those theories in a certain discipline, that finally was disproven, against so-called `hard science.` And if one disagreed, and said the earth was not flat, one was called an incredible lunatic, by the renown, respected and applauded scientists. Liza, I hope that you can find a few, or know about a few, once famous and `proven` but erroneous theories as well, in any discipline. Or, anyone else can chip in. Once a list of that sort of failed once-agreed-upon-theories is started, where will it end. And even when some theories are proven to be erroneous, like The Theory of Evolution, some people have dug in, and absolutely refuse to let go. Also, because some of these falsely proven theories go along with how many people feel and give them standing, for their bad behavior: Greed is Good. Yes, says The Mean Girls. lol. And remember, Lisk, politics, and economics, psychological manipulation, social manipulation, false pride, competition, hatred, etc. are also involved in what `scientific theories` get the go ahead by those that have the power, and which ones are buried, in all fields. The same sort of people, many call them `The Elite,` work together across many disciplines. So they come up with The Theory of Relativity in Science, and then likewise they say that Everything is Relative in other disciplines like Ethics and Morality especially in the case of Good and Evil: That there are no absolutes. And no absolute Truth (they hate truth, most of all), especially, or as they love to say: `it is all relative.` That was not a grass root catch-phrase. It was a result of the push of the Theory of Relativity. All of these `Elite` people work together across these many disciplines, saying they are riding the horses of Science, but really are galloping for their own goals to groom and control on behalf of themselves, the minds of the populace. To control the populace is to cope with the populace, for these types. Many good theories and inventions are destroyed and smeared, along with the people that attempted to bring them forth into the mainstream, because the powers over such progress, are against this for their own self-serving reasons, while many erroneous theories and bad theories and unimportant theories are knowingly pushed forward and set up instead, as science, in many disciplines, And many people, although not `The Elite,` go along, for whatever their reasons, even when they know the science is wrong. Not all, of course. And the line of polarization in much that has has been called `science` has been drawn: Those that will believe these people and a lot of their `science,` can not be moved. And those that see through them, and a lot of what they call `science,` can not be moved. And many people that are caught in the middle, actually do not know. Many people caught in the middle have unknowingly worked and are still working on `scientific,` experiments and pushing erroneous scientific theories, in many disciplines, that will cause there very own personal physical and mental destruction, etc. A tiny, tiny, tiny example: I saw this movie once, and some scientists were working on something very bad in the Lab. And while I was watching the movie, I was thinking to myself, why would some people want to develop something so awful like that??? But, then something went wrong in the lab and the experiment broke through the isolation protocol, and those scientists were turned into ravening monsters, as they became contaminated by this product, that they were developing to be used against other people, and using other peoples` money, and I laughed: Schadenfreude.

you seem to mixe between many consepts and deciplines, i will try to address your answer step by step.
_ the earth is round you will not finde a single scientist who will tell you otherwise, and you do not have to believe anyone, you just have to study to convince yourself.
_evolution is not some shady theory that extremists hold on to, it is a solide theory that allowed us to make many predicitons that turned out to be true, and the predictions where both on the potential fossils we can expect to finde and pential species we can expect to discover.
for hard sciences it is actually verry easy to prove the effnciency of it, because the results are concrete, to site Dawkins “it’s works bitches” ( i’m realy sorry for the vulgarity, i gave the expression as it is).
you also talked about good and bad, elites and social ranks….ect, these have nothing to do with science, it is a field named moral philosophy, i don’t know much about it.
note that science is not prescreptive, it is descriptive, it will tell you about a phenomenom, discribe it, give it’s proprities but, do not expect it to tell you what is good or bad, or what to do or not do.
now, when a politician or journalist or any media is talking about science, please understand that their use of science is the same as humpty dumpty’s use of words, it will mean what they want it to mean, if you want the real information refer to scientific literature not to biased and politicaly oriented medias.
i get that you are telling me to have critical spirit, and i 100% agree. but critical spirit is about asking for proofs, explanations, verifiying the sources, and accepting to change ones minde when presented with sufficent data. if you systematically reject evryhting, is not critical spirit.

Like religion, science is a human construct that is trying to get to the “truth.”
I doubt humans will ever get to *the* truth. They will only get to a bunch of ‘true enoughs.’
A scientific conclusion/theory/whatever is only as good as the dataset. And no one can capture all the data.
Hence, why there’s always a new discovery that beats the pants off the old one.

And just because a section of a faulty formula works out for you, does not mean the entire formula is correct. Including Darwinism. Darwinism failed. Just because I use a faulty map or GPS and still find the nearby grocery story, using a part of that faulty map, does not mean that the faulty map will take me to my destination, at end. Even if the faulty map is a best seller and celebrated as being correct. And yes, respected scientists used all of the methods that you discussed and still came up with a faulty conclusion that the world is flat, and other scientists that disagreed were ostracized. And even now, scientists in various disciplines, that develope the theories approved of by the powers, in many disciplines, including Politics and Sociology and Economics and Psychiatry and Politics, etc. will be propped up. Those that go against the theories of the powers, will not find funding, will be smeared, will not be published, will be ostracized, will be destroyed and banished and muzzled and even killed, etc. This is not new. Just like in NYC where I live, the Environmental Scientists that were propped up by the the Powers, said that said it was safe to work down there and to clean up the debris after the obliteration of the famous Twin Towers located in the financial district. I said, while listening to the many press conferences, WHAT???? SAFE????? I did not go back down there. Then, many men fought for the contracts to work down there and clean up the degree from that colossal obliteration. And did part time work. And volunteer work. Now those people are now dying, including the firefighters and the police officers that investigated and worked on the salvage part time, etc, and they also have became very ill and have died and are fighting for the money from a fund that people demanded to be set up for them. Some are trying to be labeled for PTSD, but because it was ruled to be safe down there, the PTSD status is difficult for them to obtain, in some sort of circular politics versus psychiatric battle and legal and medical precedent concerns. Those ill people are like clowns in a circus jumping though hoops trying to obtain that money for their illnesses, and their families for their estates, once they die. All for listening to those propped up Environmental Scientists with their false agreed upon reports and faulty experiments and bad tests and faulty conclusion and incorrect ruling that working down there was: SAFE! However, the scientists that said and tried to get out the message that it was not safe could not do so, and tried, but to no avail, because they said (in their exposes` years later) that they were blocked. They tried to get the info to the public that that area and place was a stew of poison, some of the type they had never seen before, and they reported years later, that they were shut down and afraid from threats by powerful people, and they were locked out from the media, and that their scientific reports were buried and they were told to shut up and they were muzzled about their stance that that area was not safe. Science and Politics and Economics and Psychiatry, and Sociology, etc. co-mingle and often are influenced by each other to serve the various aims of powerful people. So, I am not mixing up concepts and disciplines like you say I am doing. They are already mixed up together, in reality, whether I say so or not.

Liza. I am sure that you know that you can do some searches and find failed scientific theory throughout time. But, that is up to you. So, it is your choice to do so or not. So, there really is nothing mysterious or esoteric about that fact to debate about. There is plenty of poison to pick over in that regard, if one so desired to take a peek into it, if one was unaware. And, scientists are also Politicians, etc. And have preferences in what they want to work on or not. And are subject to their own biases, in every discipline. They do not exist as supreme beings that can not be naively or willingly deceived, as well. And are subject to coercion. And promote the coercion of others. I know many scientific theories that are currently wrong, but are very controversial, and would definitely set off the blue touch paper. But like they say in Star Trek, keep the prime directive as much as possible and let people believe what they feel solid about. I take that stand also, to protect myself and to be wisely pro–social. That is why I gave you the example of the faulty belief that comes and goes that the earth is flat. It is a pro-social example. That will not cause me problems from others. Anyway, many scientists also willingly deceive and falsify experiments and remove any person when they can, that find out that there are flaws in their theories. And scientists like anyone else, can only do what is within their individual personal and mental capacity. And If you want, you can probably google failed scientific theories that were once thought to be true by scientists all over the world that is false. But, only if you actually want to look into it. Your choice. Depending on what mood google is in on any given day, info. is available for you. And Darwinism has failed, and Apes still will not turn into people. And survival of the strongest has failed in Darwinism in the way it was supposed to work. Even Darwin said so, but he was told to shut up, and that the evolution train had left the station, with flying colors. And many love the theory, for a variety of their own reasons, in many disciplines. Perhaps time is the only thing that will show this to you, that Darwinism has failed. He was told to shut up. And, Big Bang became the new rule of the day. Anyway, Liza, If Apes could turn into people, why did they stop doing so? They got bored? They did not like the concept of income taxes? They had a meeting to stop turning into people, in a No More, sort of movement? They just said, NO? and yes, there is theories that have been proven to be false, but note that they were recongnised as suche when sufficient proofs had been provided.

I believe the theory is that we share a common ancestor with the great apes before all became separate species. We are also a type of ape closely related to the other apes, so they won’t become people just like a gorilla wont become an orangutan because each species took a different direction and it was working for all.
I say “was working” because human disturbance is leading to the extinction of the other species of ape.
Liza. I am not offended. I am enjoying myself. I always do when I talk to you. Because you never come with malice. And, I never said for you to research the Theory of Evolution per se. I said to research failed scientific theories, if you were unaware of the heaps of them, even though they were once thought proven to be true by renown scientists. They were still false. And maybe google can show some results, if you are interested, or even the Library, etc. . And that Theory of Evolution and Big Bang, is not even one set thing, as it is constantly being redone, because it can not stand. Like an old faulty door with a million layers of new paint. If many are still into it, they have the right. I actually did not know that people still believed in it. So, that is interesting for me to know, and I will not be blindsided in the future, if someone places that theory before me. And I will then quietly remove myself somehow from debating it with them, these days. Because, there would be no point. In all seriousness. Anyway, frankly, I am working on some tax papers right now, and maybe the Apes were right, when they stopped turning into humans, when they heard about all the taxes they were going to be subjected, including property tax, and income tax, and death tax, and wage tax, and window tax, and estate tax, school tax, and inheritance tax, and investment tax, profit tax, utility tax, and cable tax, transportation tax, and tax tax, etc. Maybe Taxes killed the dinosaurs, as well. With just one look at a tax form, the dinosaurs all perished, right then and right there. They lost all desire to continue to evolve. They evolved all the way from tiny birds, to huge dinosaurs, and then with with one look at a tax form, and they saw the end game, that they they were heading to, in their evolution process, was just to be taxed? They angrily, just said, NO! They gave up altogether, in one fell swoop, and died right on the spot. Who could blame them. I wish the Big Bang would blow up some of these tax forms on this planet. Where is the Big Bang when one needs it. I think a redo is in order.

Yes they keep working on the Ape theory, and say maybe it was a special sort of Ape etc. And blah, blah, blah, and Whatever, because they adamantly refuse to say that the Creator created mankind. So they have their hands full with their theories, and their photos of people finally standing up straight after they evolved from apishness genetics, and all that, and they have that right, and those that believe them have that right to follow along with them and believe them. Freedom of thought and belief. I just did not know that people still believed in it. And the fact that many people act even less than Apes, even these days, is probably a delight to the scientists that push Evolution and Big Bang on whomever will believe them, to this very day.

Hello PSE and Liza, just for the sake of accuracy, science offers neither truth or falseness. Scientific research offers support of hypotheses or the lack thereof. It puts forth theory based upon prevailing, available research. These theories are always, by definition limited, because we never possess all data or the resident knowledge to fully and with complete accuracy, process such data at any point in time. Even math is only absolute to the degree to which the axioms allow it to be absolutely true.
It seems we humans tend to narrowly define things to increase comfort, reduce uncertainty, to serve ego and/or an agenda and/or to assert control. Media has nothing to do with science and even when reporting on science, often fails miserably at accurate representations. Media always has an agenda. It is up to us to seek a better understanding of any prevailing theory and the science behind it, so we do not fall prey to someone else defining our thoughts and reality for us. It seems like you both do this from different perspectives.
PSE you are spot on about the twin towers. Any particulate matter inhaled overtime will destroy lung function and can ultimately lead to death. (This happened to a relative of mine). This has been known for many decades. False assurances are dangerous. Also to your point, funding of research is agenda driven. Politicians, corporations and foundations drive those agendas, so yes, power and politics have an influence.
FYC: Some scientific Researchers in all disciplines often have unfair and bad agendas as well. And have justified destroying many people, in many ways, in the name of science and bad science and biased data. And they will pull out a million charts and formulas to justify their bad doings. I will not let such scientists sneak quietly away from this discussion. And many scientists have willingly also backed information that supported their faulty biases and many have brought forth information that supported their faulty biases and have also smothered data that did not support their biases, and even falsified data, and all this still goes on in science. There is plenty of science, falsely called. So, it is not only the media and all, that misuse science. There are many scientists that knowingly misuse science as well, in all disciplines. And from childhood, it seems to me now, that the populace in general are groomed to see or hear the word `science,` and then all of their logical and critical faculties stop working: Like a form of sleeper-cell hypnosis. `Oh, Don`t talk bad about Science,` they practically shout at one, without realizing it. Well, I am talking bad about a lot of it. And a lot of bad comes from a lot of it. You know what I love to see, FYC? I love when I see children break apart theories that adults live and swear by. LIke when a child asks, about the Big Bang theory: `How does something come from nothing?` And then asks, `can you show me how to create something from nothing?` Hahaha. I find the question interesting. And children ask questions like, `When will my pet bird turn into a dinosaur. I want to tame a dinosaur.` I would like to tame one, as well. Especially, many of these dinosauric false and bad theories propped up by bad and faulty science.

Witch: Your question is incredibly important. And there is no easy answer on how to tell a Truth from a Lie in various situations and regarding various information. And there is no one answer on how to tell a truth from a lie. And on top of that, all people are not supposed to know the truth about certain things. And, also, some people have a gift at getting at the truth of a matter, and some people do not. They have the gift of the spirit of truth. And even when someone that is ever so eloquent is before them, such people with the gift of the spirit of truth will still see the Flaws and Errors and Lies, when applicable, in what such eloquent and sophisticated people are saying, and will not be hypnotized and seduced away from the Truth by fine speech and a multitude of charts and equations and books and pamphlets, etc. And even on top of that, Truth reveals herself to certain people and hides herself from certain other people. But, just by knowing that there is a such thing as The Truth, and that there is such a thing as A Lie, as you have shown, in my opinion, by your question to me, you are already eons ahead of many people, especially the people that love lies. And I wish for you that Truth reveals herself to you more and more over time, in areas of your concern.

A grape used to be the size of a watermelon. People lived very long and looked very beautiful for a very very very long time. People can have all the personal Truths that they want. But, their personal Truth is either True, or their personal Truth is a Lie. Truth is. A Lie constantly has to be propped up, and the propping up has no end: Until The Truth, finally at some point in time, destroys the Lie and puts and end to the Lie. The person speaking such stuff may be sentenced to the Psyche ward for the criminally insane and imprisoned there instead of with the general criminal population. But, they will still be imprisoned, despite their personal Truth. All this odd sort of talk, that the populace in general are being groomed to speak, just will not work on high levels and in serious circumstances.

I was raised to believe in god. My dad was raised as a Jehovah witness as well as my step dad. I have to reflect on that point. Before I miss some progress that I may be making, because I am looking the wrong way. And, yes…it is frustrating.
You are making progress—it’s just a different brand than it used to be. I really became dampened cognitively. I kinda slumped about two years before we separated—it was like I had nothing left. I had zero anything left and that is when I slept constantly, gained weight, couldn’t manage anything.. I think HG describes a co-dependent crashing similarly but I just stayed crashed. I only bring this up because I thought I’d never be ok again, wasn’t sure why but I had that thought constantly. I am differently ok now and think even this will be more refined and better. I’m excited about teaching and couldn’t even put two and two together a year ago.
Oh Lorelei: I am so glad you found something to be excited about. I am thinking of joining a coed softball league this summer. Only 2 women are permitted on each team. So, it is mostly men. I like playing sports and being on a team, and I have some athletic ability. I want to be around more men. I think I have been around women just too much, and that is one of the reasons that the N. stood out so much for me. But, on here, I realize that many women are around a lot of men, just in their normal life. So that is what I plan to do. And, I may obtain more balance just by being around the opposite sex more. And, ironically, I was closing in to joining a league around 3 years ago, and then I saw the N. for the first time. BOOM. Unbelievable.

Hi PSE, I don’t want to engage in the Theory of Evolution. I just want to share to you that I have these Christian based Science books that I am using for my kids to add or supplement to what they are learning from public school. These book are so interesting and amazing how they tie up science with the scriptures and also compare and contrast Intelligent Design versus Evolution. I have to say that there are indeed logical flaws to the Theory of Evolution. I know that my kids will be taught the Theory of Evolution in their school so I think it is nice for them to learn about the other side of the argument from our home and they can make up their minds what to believe.

I noted the article said something about it being protocol not to touch service animals, so in that way it’s fair enough, but Pence didn’t observe that. The usual rule with service dogs is you don’t pet them when they’re in harness, because they are working and shouldn’t be distracted. Out of harness, they may be quite pettable, but it’s best to ask the handler (which Pence may well have done).

This one had no special training, but he was a Great Pyrenees, and they are bred to protect flocks from predators. I had to wave at him and let him eat at me through the window every time I went in and out or he’d keep barking. They can be very nurturing: there’s footage on YT of a Pyrenees gently nuzzling a baby goat recovering from some kind of medical treatment.

My MRE sister was very much into dogs and all of the dogs that she had were very loyal and devoted to her and even most dogs seemed to like her as she was very sweet to them and always had a treat for them. Haha PSE my MRE sister did look a little bit like her dog. They both had blonde hair (her dog was a yellow lab) and for some reason they seemed to move the same way too. She bought sweaters for her dog which were similar in fabric and color as some of her sweaters. The poor dog just puts up with it. The dog really didn’t have a happy face everytime she was wearing a sweater or a costume which was kinda funny. I don’t think that I had a dog that looked like me. My previous dog was a white German Shepherd and he looked like a wolf. I’m only 5’3” so we looked funny together. He was always up to my waist. He looked like he was half horse. I didn’t realize that he was going to get that big when I bought him. A guy went to the bank that I was working at and brought these little GS puppies in a box and was selling them to us. Most of them were brown, some were black and one was white and looked like a baby polar bear. He saw me looking at it and he took it out of the box and put it on my arms. From that moment I couldn’t give the puppy up, I had to have it. I didn’t know anything about German Shepherds but thankfully it turned out well for us. He was an amazing dog and he was so tolerant to our little kids. Now we have a cockapoo puppy and I don’t think that she looks like me either. So amazingly sweet and devoted and she seems to like me more than anyone in our family.
Birds that talk can be really funny. I remember when I was young there was a little general store where the owner had a parrot that talks. The owner likes to show off and makes the parrot say silly words to us. They also had a pet monkey who got into their cash box and ate their money. The monkey also bit my cousin one time which left an ugly scar on his arm. I can’t remember why the monkey did it. I remember that monkey also liked to remove lice from the heads of the kids in our province and then he eats the lice. They say that the monkey wouldn’t let them leave until all of their head lice are gone. I never went near that monkey though. I was never that brave with unfamiliar animals.

People should be aware of the way in which a dog is wagging it’s tail. Tail down and quickly wagging is happy and accepting. Midway or straight and slower is assessing. High and stiff can mean unsure and mounting aggression. These are not 100% in each case but a general guideline as most people think just because the dog’s tail is wagging, that you’re safe. No so.
I liken it to the behaviour of narcs in the Golden Period, Stranger Zone, and Devaluation. If only they had (visible) tails. For a Mid R you can forget about the tail. It’s generally the one in the corner cowering or dribbling pee on your foot.

There is also no evidence that Empathy is something that can be “bred out” of the gene pool and the narcissistic characters you are describing prefer an empathic partner to support them, hence it would not just be narcissistic people and narcissists procreating.

Empathy is being taught in schools and colleges now and encouraged in many companies in order to sustain a healthy work environment. Needless to say, narcs can’t survive without Empaths. We, however, can survive without them, many people in this blog are proof of that.

The teaching of empathy sounds like a good idea, but I cannot help but wonder, keeping in mind HG’s writings: if empathy is being taught in the classroom or in the conference room, are these students simply acquiring Cognitive Empathy?
Lisk, that is a very intelligent question. In my experience and little knowledge of the topic, most neurotypical people are always taught empathic ways of dealing with others, what we have always called being nice and respectful. Empathic traits in the workplace are those behaviors we used to call norms of etiquette, which seem to be less and less present in the corporate world. For example, ghosting candidates to a job post even after having interviewed them. Practically speaking, you’re not gonna work with them and probably never see them again so if you’re not gonna offer them the job why bother to let them know? Thinking empathically, however, allows you to walk yourself in the other person’s shoes and make the effort, albeit a very unpleasant one, to communicate nicely and respectfully that they have not been selected. Even if it is cognitive empathy it helps make the world more humane. That’s my opinion at least.
Lisk, I also realized this: in my workplace there is a guy that is obviously a MRN. I’m no expert and I already know he is, so obvious is his case. Both of us have been the boss at different times. When I was the boss, the other employees came to me constantly to consult ideas, offer new proposals for innovation, just talk in general because they felt comfortable… my department grew and blossomed. Now that he is in that position, people come TO ME to complain about his despotic behavior. Most of the employees have left and our department has decreased. I believe narcs can see the logic, but they can’t empathize with people and in most cases, that makes a big difference. Everyone can calculate numbers, but not everyone can do that while keeping people happy, supported, and feeling that they are worth something.

I notice how they gravitate to one another and form little alliances, and they appear SO dysfunctional to me—I never saw this before. I’m still in awe at how open my eyes have become. Lorelei, I know. In my field, that is very common. I have always been very individualistic in that sense and I stay away from cliques, even since I was a kid. I had to go to a Walmart at midnight and buy absolutely everything down to socks. I was tired and they told me their dressing rooms were empty but they let me in with a sob story as I had no pants/shirt, etc. Walmart is very handy when you have nothing.

I did a project supervised by our equivalent for Dolores Umbridge. She understood none of the particulars, but by golly she stuck by the finest minutiae of her preferred procedures, even when they didn’t fit the individual case.
I was initially relieved when she was kicked upstairs.
Now I found out that my usual supervisor reports to HER.
When my original supervisor left, he privately told me to get out while I could, because the place was going to down. If it does go down, Dolores Umbridge may see signs that her kind of mismanagement was a major contributing factor, but she will never accept it.
OF COURSE! My work narc will NEVER accept he is a mediocre negligent useless piece of furniture. But he still is.

That’s interesting Desiree, a self-regulation difficulty is central to most attachment disorders and the more I learn about Narcissism the more I think it is an extreme attachment problem – anxious or ambivalent attachment impacts on personality development and that’s pretty widely accepted. Narcs can’t be happy in their own skin, on their own and can’t self-sooth. The fuel giving a feeling of power that HG talks about seems to be akin to the kind of arousal (not sexual) that children with attachment disorders are constantly seeking, by provoking reactions and pushing boundaries.
It’s the soggy potato chip (crisps for you Brits, not the ones that come with fish). Nobody really likes a soggy potato chip, but if it’s that or starve, you’ll take it.
Kids need attention. They’d prefer positive attention, but if the only time they get attention is when they act up and get the ultraviolence going, that’s what they do.
By the time they encounter someone who offers them positive attention, they are suspicious and/or contemptuous.

I definitely believe empathy is essential to our survival as it allows us to support each other during crisis by forming community. I helped someone recently who I believe is a narc but nonetheless if it wasn’t for my help she would have been out on the street in the rain facing all kinds of risks. If my accommodation burnt down tomorrow I would definitely be dependent on the kindness of others. We evolved to have empathy because forming groups and depending on each other benefited our survival. Without empathy we might as well be reptiles.

I get your point, however I do have people in my life who would do the same for me.
The narc mentioned finds it difficult to sustain relationships due to her overbearing personality. She would be hard pressed to find someone who would take her in again if she ended up in a similar situation. Her support system is scarce which puts her at a disadvantage. It depends on the type of narcissist as some are more skilled at manipulation than others. Most end up with a worse fate as they get older. No one wants to be around them.
I agree with you Witch, the human race would have to devolve in order for empathy to be lost. Our evolution has been driven by it, I think. Although HG might say that Narcs have been instrumental in taking the species forward, but then he would ; )
Not necessarily. Empaths try harder to keep their kids alive and sufficiently socially-adjusted to mate and produce more empaths.

I have wondered about something similar, too. That Empaths are on their way out—-because what does it really get them in the end but a lovely Golden Period (maybe) and then a long (or short, if they’re lucky) ride on a Wheel of Misery?
By that logic, it would be the end of Narcissists, too, since their supply of fuel will have dried up.

Many empaths have been carrying this traumatic and heavy and painful burden for a long time, from the way we have been treated, by some of our families and our loved ones and our friends and our coworkers, etc. So, I agree with you. And I am including the empathic men as well. Many of the empathic men as well are becoming cold. I haven`t reached the point of becoming more cold, but I am turning on more sophisticated alarm systems. And that is a good thing for me to do, before it is too late to salvage my true personality and before I end up turning into some form of a mutant.

We see the succesfull examples of N everyday. Narcissism is tolerated, there is no answer against it, nor legally, nor formally.
But, I hope you all are right and empathy is not dead!!!

Starve narcs of their fuel while you go off to find other empaths/normals and keep the good guys going.
There definitely good folks out there who’ve had good, loving upbringings—they may be rarer and hard to find at the moment, but they are there for you to find and befriend.
I’m intrigued to know what people think in terms of those who have had loving caregivers to bring them up. I can only think of a very small handful of the people I personally know. I interact with people from a diverse range of backgrounds. It really does appear to be very few indeed.
Alex: I had loving caregivers, including my Grandparents. It is easy for me to give someone the benefit of the doubt. But, I am becoming tired over time, lately. I have to set up more alarm systems. Because I want to stay healthy, and I want to live as long as possible. What brought me here, workplace Narcissism, was a turning point. I am sure the matter sped up, because I dealt with a Narcissistic group, so the matter was more concentrated, and so I had to really stop, after 3 years straight of it all, and really figure out, what in the world is this madness all about? I found out what it is about : It is about aware and deliberate Border Time, for me. It is time for me to set up many more Borders. And, I have to learn how to do that in the most intelligent manner. Even setting up borders is a skill. How to best go about it. That is what I am learning on Narciste : HOW to best go about setting up borders as well as when to set them up.

This idea has puzzled me a bit as I’ve read all HG’s work (or surely most of it by now). I had a loving upbringing too. Sibling rivalry, I remember as one of 5 kids but my mother was an incredibly kind person whom everyone adored. My Father was a grump at times and worked hard, definitely ignored us when we were playing up, but I never thought of him as abusive. He was always supportive of what we wanted to do. My eldest sister is a french fry short of a happy meal and always has been, selfish and manipulative, so maybe a Narc but I don’t think so. I’ve not done an ED as yet, all I know is that N-ex targeted me for some reason and it’s been devastating. I don’t think anyone who knows me would think I’m ‘normal’ so I’m either Narc or an empath – why though? Dunno!

at a guess I would say you’re an empath of some description. You sound thoughtful and caring keen to understand and move on. and if you’re questioning whether you’re an N you’re probably not.
Your mum sounds lovely and it’s hard to say re your sister but she could well be an N. My sister (on the surface of it) appears to be one of the ‘nicest’ people you could meet and is very easy to get along with. Noone would ever suspect her, I’m sure of it. But having read all of HGs work she is definitely an UMR and married to a LMR so at least as far as IPs go, they have each other and not hurting anyone else in that regard.
That’s really interesting though that you don’t believe either of your parents were an N. Do you think your mum was an E?

I don’t think I’m a Narc either really, I take on too much of what other people are feeling at times and have to remind myself to not let them take too much of my energy, that’s always been the case for me. My mother was an empath I believe, although I understand that is subjective. One of my earliest memories of her was her kneeling in the road in white trousers cradling the bleeding head of someone who had been knocked down by a car in her lap. There was never a dull moment with her, there were always people knocking on the door asking for her because of some drama or another. She was a nurse, but it was more than that I’m sure, everyone talked to her and I can’t ever remember her turning anyone away. My 2nd sister Cyn was also that kind of person, who people turn to, and would always respond kindly, even when it was none of her business, you know?
Alex, I constantly say on here that I am ignorant on schools and cadres of both Empaths and Narcs. lol. I marvel that HG sorts though it all. Oh! ~`And I left that job. It hurt, but I am feeling much better in many ways now. I am around 7 months GOSO. Thank you for inquiring. But, I have no friends now. I had not realized that they were all intertwined so much in the overall N. dynamic. So, I also lost a lot of feeling or drive of ambition that one needs. So, it is very different right now. I have a tiny bit of drive coming back, but not nearly enough right now. So I am a little afraid. Having drive is good, and I have very little right now. Maybe I am in a sort of denouement period. I will be glad when it goes away.

Dealing with Narc and Co every day at work was very draining on you and it takes time to come back to yourself. Everyone is different in the timing. As you regain your energy, your drive will return and you will engage in things that dealing with them left you too tired to enjoy. The connection with other people will come with enjoying those things. You mentioned decorating. Perhaps you could take a course (not online) that will have you engaging with like-minded people and spur your drive on. Pretty soon you will be telling us that PSE Got Her Groove Back.

I’m pretty sure one of my grandmothers was a contagion she would have done anything to take someone else’s pain away. Hmmm except if they were being sick, then she’d be sick and my aunt likely a codependent would take over but we’d all laugh about it after. Both beautiful people with the kindest of hearts.

And this rain soaked female entered a castle and her name was Princess Super Empath. I believe it was Sue, instead of Su for the Super part. your reasoning is subjected to the survivor bias, there are indeed narcissists that succeed, but you only see the ones that succeed, you don’t know about the thousands or may be millions of narcissist that have failled.

I wonder if zwartbolleke is *also* talking about the narcissists who have failed. Regardless of how unsuccessful in life a narcissist may be, he/she often seems to succeed at doing plenty of damage that might be construed as “winning” by the damaged party.

by succeeding, i mean the general idea of success, damaging someone’s life is not a real success, it brings damage to the victim, but apart from gaining fuel, there is no real gain for the narcissist.
The narcissists themselves don’t think they’ve failed, and that’s the revenge many people want. To have the narcs feel like failures, because that’s how they made us feel.
Others want to narcs to feel the hurt they’ve done, and learn from it.
What we need is not to give a shit what the narcs feel, good or bad, except for strategizing to GOSO.
Wonder if I’ll ever manage it.

it was a stupid middle schooler thing.
we were classmates, she was always the topper, i had always been either 3rd second or 4th, i have never been competitive, and ididn’t care, but she was always picking on me, comparing herselfe to me, and repeating that i could never beat her, so one time i decided to take her place, and the day we got the results, she was crying and looked defeated, and i wasn’t happy, i got it that this first place was verry important for her, it meant nothing for me, i just wanted to prove that i can.
I guess she thought it was all she had going for her.
may be, i don’t really know her we have nerver been close, we have to keep in minde that she was only 13 or 14 at the time.
any way she got back her top place the next trimester.
empaths and narcissist will always exist., here is why:
the peolpe who are called normals, have a healthy mix between empathy and narcissism, enaught empathy to be group oriented and help the species survive, and enaugh narcissism to self preservate, what i’m trying to say is that empathy and narcissism are a part of “normal” they are both already selected traits, empaths and narcissists are anomalies, the dosage of both traits is unbalanced, and anomalies occure with all the other traits.

Hi Zwart, it does seem like that if I look at the news and see all of the narcissists leading the world. However in my daily life I have only met two narcissist that are successful, they are UMRs. One of them is a family member. And even though he has all of this wealth, he never looks happy. He is very revered and in our family everybody really respects him and has everyone’s attention during family gatherings and everyone laughs at his jokes and he leads the direction of the gathering. However his dynamic with his wife is weird. It seems to revolve around respect and tolerance. He picks on her all the time which I can see sometimes get to her but she just ignores. Unlike my dynamic with my husband and kids where there is always laughter and real happiness even though there were sometimes losing the patience and yelling at the kids or punishing them, the 95% of the time is real genuine happiness. I would not trade that for multiple expensive homes and the power that that couple has. All of the other lower functioning narcissists (including my intelligent MMR half sister) that I have seen have a life that has no direction and has eventually alienated a lot of people because of their inability to empathize and understand that those people are also busy with their own lives and do not revolve around them. They are also usually terrible with money and budgeting with spending more than they could afford.
Empathy is also a very important ingredient in success as it gives us insight to what other people need or want. An empathic businessman for example will have a very high chance of being able to figure out what kind of service or product is needed by a lot of people. Although for that, highly functioning narcissists like Steve Jobs also do very well because they have high cognitive empathy and sometimes even better cognitive empathy than real Empath’s or normals. So I don’t think that empathy is not needed. If we are all narcissists there will be self destruction in the human race.

He has created a monster, together with Zuckerberg and others. Their cognitive empathy was developed to the point to feel and feed the needs of people, to stimulate everybody’s narcissistics traits and make everybody a slave of their narcissistic trait, and what have we now… people craving for likes: see me, like me, I am special, I am better than …
A totaly crazy world on FB, IG, millions of pictures of faces are shared daily, 75% of all the photo’s (daily) are pictures of faces, can you imagine (I study marketing as a hobby, that’s where I get the numbers)?

I agree. I’m not a fan of them either. Although social media has made it so much easier for me to keep in touch with relatives and friends from afar, I agree that it has made a really big impact on our society and a lot of it are not very good.

Receiving barely any sunlight in the morning and seeing gloomy skys makes me not want to get out of bed or leave home.

I need the vitamin D. I have a vegan/vegetarian diet 99% of the time. My skin looks so much better under the sun. If I lived in a hot country I would very rarely wear any makeup because my skin would forever be tanned and glimmering.

Heard an interesting story today on the way to the vet to drop off my cat. A woman in Ohio called 911 and asked for a pizza, wherein the dispatcher at 1st chided her. ‘This is not the number to call if you want a pizza.’
But the woman insisted. ‘Yes, I would like a pizza. Pepperoni.’ Then she gave the ‘delivery’ address.
The dispatcher caught on. She was actually calling because her boyfriend was beating up her mother and she was masking the call.
‘You need medical?’ He asked.
‘Yes, I want a large pizza.’
The cops came and abuser was arrested. Very clever.
Bravo to both her and the dispatcher.
