A Letter to the Empath

A LETTER TO THE EMPATH

What if you could go back in time with a message?

A message to you?

It does not matter where you are in your bid for freedom from the effects of narcissistic entanglement, there will still be something you will want to write to yourself. You may have recently arrived at my blog and you are voraciously devouring the material, educating yourself and nodding as each article, bulletin and package brings you added insight. You may have imposed a No Contact Regime and are dedicated to maintaining that. You may have avoided several hoover attempts. You may be battling the narcissist still as you seek to escape. You may have kept the narcissist at bay but you are embroiled in fighting The Enemy Within, namely emotional thinking.  You may be enjoying the fruits of No Contact and feeling stronger, calmer and clearer.

Wherever you may be in that journey, take a moment to consider writing to yourself. If you were able to send a letter back through time to yourself prior to the narcissistic ensnarement or just as it began what would you write? What words would you convey to yourself? Warning, fortitude, practicality, encouragement, chastisement? What would they be?

Write a letter to the empath and send it to narcissist1909@gmail.com for consideration for publication on the blog in a forthcoming series.

The subject line should be “A Letter to the Empath” and include a suitable name for recipient and writer.

HG, your words “If you were able to send a letter back through time to yourself prior to the narcissistic ensnarement or just as it began what would you write?”

    What would I write? Errrrmmmm…..let’s see 😉

Well, the truth is, I have already written. Loads. By writing aspects of my past and present on your blog, I no longer have a need to write A Letter to Me, Myself and I.

It was only by coming to your site, KTN, was I able to see ‘Me, Myself and I’, comprising the different and various coloured sides of the ‘polished’ prism that makes me what I am now.

For that, I am eternally grateful to you, HG, thank you, hugely xxx

I wouldn’t listen to me, but I wish I could have listened to you. I’d send myself a copy of Sex and the Narcissist.

Oh what a lovely picture! Another winner, HG!

Now, this is a fascinating idea and it has come at a very apposite day for me. There could be many points in time I could choose but the one that stands out right now is precisely 5 years ago today when the UMS and I officially separated and I moved out.

So that’s what I’m doing today!

This is a great idea HG! I wish I am a good writer as I would love to come up with something. It is a very emotional thought to be able to write to myself when I was in my darkest times. I’m so thankful for being able to survive all of that. I wish the same way for all of the kids who are going through something similar or worse right now. I am looking forward to reading the submissions to you.

What a great idea and healing! Ill write one!
Off topic but i watched a movie last night called “the occupant” on netflix. I wont spoil the ending but it so accurately depicts a psychopath. Worth watching!

This is a wonderful idea !
As is the letter to the Narcissist, but I am not ready for that yet – too much Emotional Thinking still.
But this, I will give it a shot.

I tried. It seems it is too early for the Letter to the Empath too.
It will be a year this Thursday since I first met *him*. Dammit, I wish I could forget.
Any chance of “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” becoming real ??

I still want to give the letter a try at a later point in time.
