Apologies for this overly long post…there is a question for HG Tudor or others who know his work very well…

I work in a CMHT in the UK. It is an assumption of our team, that we usually end up seeing the victims of narcissists, but, for reasons you have explained and discussed, hardly ever will a narcissist make it into secondary mental health services. Not so currently. COVID19 is bringing the anxiety and depression out of the creature inside, as you’ve said, and leading it as far as our assessments. Can you imagine this happening under normal circumstances? Not in a million years. How dare anyone label a narcissist..

Interesting to me is, that when I discussed the assessment of this particular Dr Narc ( PhD, works for the state) with my team, people couldnt see it. Sense of entitlement and resentment at not receiving it, anxiety and annoyance about having to live with other people’s anxiety, rage at the level of government control..screamed Narc to me, before we even ventured into the ‘past relationships’ that I must ask about. (And sure enough..).Yet others – really experienced others- said: are you sure this isnt autism? Er, yes. And Dr Narc had already self diagnosed as a ‘highly sensitive person’ (HSP) ..so theres another category – if one is aware of it- that your kind may seem to fit into..

I really couldnt have understood what a narcissist is and does, without a) experiencing it as the wife of one and b) reading your articles. I wonder if it’s possible to get this across in the way only you can, to others who havent had these pleasures? I know your writing is based on your own framework which is outside DSM, but bollocks if anyone thinks we operate exclusively to that….😁 So, HG, does any of your work fit into the remit of ‘information’ for mental health teams ( just to explain, secondary mental health is a generalist service that is usually first point of entry for anyone referred by their GP). Thank you.

Thank you CL-E, interesting observations. I have numerous doctors, psychologists, therapists etc who make use of my work, either in terms of referring their patients to me or using my terminology in explaining things to their patients/clients. I do not fully understand what you mean by “remit of information” and wonder if you might expand on that please?

Oh those bloody frekkin’ superstar 8th wonder State Epidemiologists📈📉📊, HG! With their perfectly sculpted 5 o’clock shadows. Make them stop!

Let the summersun end the virus and end the fuel supplies of people’s worries and second guessing “Ooooh how should we interpret this new vague statement?? M-m-maybe finally a small suggestion to employers to provide safety equipment to healthcare workers? Oh not today yet? Not enough fuel?” the Almighty ones.
