I’ve recently understood that Hoovering By Text also means ringing, maybe one signal then hanging up. So that I see a textmessage on my phone: “1 Missed call from X at Y o’clock.”
Then he can gauge what to do from my reaction, whether I try to phone back, will he then answer etc.
Haven’t blocked him yet, he is the godfather of one of my kids. She has hopes for him and she is a believer. But I think I should.
Appreciate the understanding that it is a means for the narcissist to create a bridgehead for further manipulation.
Can’t keep a good narcissist down (apparently).
My favorite, obvious projection that my narc would say is, “it’s all about Heather” or call EVERYONE else selfish. I would always counter in a very monotone, cavalier way “so which is it, I m a people pleaser or selfish?” It would send him reeling.
