I’m sure I also found this very educational the first time I read it.
However, it is especially powerful now that I read it in the context of my new boss, who told me the story about her abusive first husband AT MY JOB INTERVIEW!!!
Oh, and it doesn’t stop there. Since that November interview, there is regular mention of the abuse (of her and her children—some of whom work for her) at least once or twice a week.
Mind you, she divorced him about 10 years ago (and they still own property together).
I found this very educational the first time I read this. An excellent piece of learning and very useful for those who have difficulty in understanding the concepts of relationships with other people, including non-intimate friendships – especially when one is meeting new people ie in social (public) environments. Great to re-read it. Thanks, HG 🙂
