I feel like boys are discouraged to be empathetic or emotional. And that it is contempt turned inward that creates shame and contempt towards outward that creates grandiosity. The mask of these males is strength but it comes from rejection, then revenge for rejection then shame and on again. The facade hides the monster or pain but it blocks any feel of joy. And yet I have met different narcs, different psychopaths. I never met one who is the same. Interesting.
