I’ve had zero contact for years but not zero concern about running into him.
It got so bad in the end, still having phone contact as per joint custody agreement, that whenever I heard his voice I vomited.
When I say I never want to see him again, I mean it.
Yet he continues to live just a few minutes away, in my home town. This I know.
It does make me unwilling to go to certain shopping/ cafe/ restaurant/ bar venues as I don’t want to do anything that may result in contact with him.
Not so much from fear of,
But disgust of and repulsion at & it took me ages to forgive myself for ever allowing THAT near me and I don’t necessarily want reminders of my past naivety.
All this may be easier for me to process/ deal with if I wasn’t raising and coping with my two children who are also badly affected and no matter what, come first in priorities.
