Radio HG

Hello good readers,

Thank you for your continued involvement and debate, I do appreciate it all. Some of you have heard me speak and others have debated whether that is my real voice or whether I employ an actor. I can understand such a suggestion but you ought to realise that I like my voice (how could I not I hear you say!) and therefore I would never let anybody steal my thunder in that respect. Any doubt that existed on this point can be firmly put to bed by tuning in to my recent interview on Out of the Box Radio as per the link below as well as hearing what else I had to say, so I thought I would alert you to this forthcoming broadcast. Thank you in advance.

  1. I’ve just listened to the ‘Out of the Box Radio’ interviews. I know, I’m coming to the party late… better late than never though ha ha.

HG, after hearing you describe how you were “created” as a child, albeit in relatively broad terms, I am fascinated to learn that we appear to have had a very similar upbringing and parenting experience. However, the coping mechanism I used to protect my ‘self’ led to me becoming an empath (I can’t decide which of your empath categories I fit into, as I identify strongly with them all. However, my empathic traits are sky high). We both created a false self as a means of survival. We are on opposite ends of the spectrum, yet we seem to be two sides of the same coin. I too am chameleon like (mirroring). The empath in me instinctively knows what someone wants/needs and I change myself accordingly to fit. Of course, I only use this ‘talent’ for good as far as others are concerned, but it is to my detriment because I lose my sense of self in the process. I would say that it’s done on a subconscious level initially, then later I realise what I’m doing, but don’t want to stop (fear of abandonment). So, I guess that’s a relationship doomed to fail too because it’s also built on an illusion. I’d be really interested in hearing any thoughts you may have regarding my epiphany ha ha.

p.s. “Weaponising empaths” … oh, I love it!

p.p.s. Your lovely accent starts to come through when you get excited

  2. HAHAHAHA, what are the chances of this being posted on my ex-narcs last birthday?! Actually was right about the time I really started to seriously question what the heck was wrong with him seeing as this was the second argument with glaring red flags, the first having occured just two weeks prior, and with many many more to come.

It truly must be a sign of destiny and fate! Stardust and such lol magical!

  3. I concur!!! Fantastic interview. I should of listened before I sent you my email. I hope you have an honest clue how powerful an impact you have on helping people. I’m grateful I found your work.

  4. H.G., you may or may not think this is cute. But my daughter heard me listening to some of the podcast Fri night when we were settling down for the night. She then asked who was the man who sounded like a British Darth Vader. I told her you were an author who I’ve read several of your books and I follow your online “book club” and you were getting to do a radio interview. She said, “Wow, that makes him famous like Dr. Seuss!” There ya go…a Greater Elite side by side with Dr. Seuss.

  5. Hello Dear HG, it’s been a while, I’ve been busy but still check in occasionally to read your wonderful and insightful posts, this one interested me the most so here I am.

Well I’ve just listened to your radio interview, first of all well done all good promotion for you, secondly, your voice is nothing like I imagined, it doesn’t fit with the image I had of you at all, so a little disappointment from the outset.

Yes, you sound charming and articulate but hearing the words rather changed my perspective of you, the written word is much more powerful than speech. The confidence that exudes from your words did not have the same impact when spoken. Just my opinion.

What I also heard was desperation, pain, emptiness, loneliness, lack of love and affirmation as a child, yes sad and pitiful. You felt all those emotions growing up no wonder you are what you are today. You described perfectly the same things I heard from ‘him’. I’ve mentioned that before, he told me of all the put downs, expectations, that could never be fulfilled, the rejection that caused so much pain. I just heard the voice of a desperate and lonely man just now, yes a well educated, successful man, but an empty shell filled with hatred. I hope the ‘good doctors’ help you find some peace… one day.

  6. Congratulations on a successful and charismatic interview and getting the message out as you desire. HG! Have you always enjoyed ” public” speaking, seeing as you revel in an audience of any nature?
Do “speaking” engagements relating to your profession, as well fill you with anticipated and successive fuel? Do you ever feel any anxiety over anything? Other then the creature?
Do you think there will ever come a day in the near future where anonymity will not be necessary, the need to hide will be obsolete? You can simply be who and what you are feely and openly? With no public or professional recourse. That is my desire for you HG, total freedom from the inside and out.

    1. Thank you. Yes I was captain of the school’s public speaking team and competed at local and national level. All audiences are an opportunity to garner fuel, whether an audience of one or an audience of thousands. As long as I want to continue with my profession then anonymity must remain in place. The arrangement suits me. I achieve my aims in both arenas.

      1. You are most brilliant HG, no one can deny that of you. You will always succeed.
I admire and appreciate all you do here and the knowledge you have imparted to me in my journey,

    1. That’s where the station is based, I was in the UK when interviewed although a trip to Beverly Hills would have been good. Maybe next time.

      1. You will be here soon enough. It was an excellent interview just like your writing. Bullets on the subject were on point. It was flowing naturally and gracefully. You will hear more voices. No, I’m not love bombing you.

  7. HG,
Thouroughly enjoyed that interview. That’s your voice I agree, you are filtering it though. Unless my Audi A6 is the problem. On my way to ask Joe Elliott if he knows you. If not I will ask Boy George Sunday. My work is never done. I am catching up to you. Wait til I get to England ❤💙💚💛💜

      1. Audi is 2016 so doubt that. I only say that because some bass echo detection…your computer/phone settings are giving it. U should have in my files that I know something of sound and music and I travel alot…fitting pieces together? Your slippin’ my friend. Maybe I will listen in bed tonight in the dark through beats headphones…I’ll get a clearer sound and hear your voice in my ear in bed where it should be. 😗

      1. Steeviann….believe me, his bark is bigger than his bite. Don’t put me back on the leash HG, please?

      2. Do you imply this because you know him or because you have the safety of the internet space between you and HG?
I would feel a bit frighten to go near him for fear he would fool me. ;- )

  8. I listened and your voice is deep and candy to my senses. I was very happy to hear of you working toward confronting the demons and writing a book on this.
I am very sad that my Narc can’t be in my life as I don’t think he wants to be better.
Will you ever FEEL love? Do you want to FEEL love? Do you want to learn to FEEL love?

I hope you do many more of these talks. I think you should do seminars.

    1. Thank you Steeviann, that was kind of you to write as such.
Will I ever feel love? I have had it directed towards me even if what I have returned is different. Do I want to? Well, I have a notion of love already and that serves it purpose.
I have been asked to return for further interviews. There are some tentative plans for interactive platforms as well.

      1. Love, in the normal sense. The emotion of love. It can be a warm and fuzzy feeling.
You did not answer the 3rd question. Do you want to LEARN to feel love? I understand if you do not want to answer this question, perhaps the idea of “feel” is too foreign to you right now.
Know I hope for you to “feel” at one point in your life. But HG, I am the first to say that at times being able to “feel” is very painful. You know this. I wonder who is the lucky one, me or you?
        You rock!
P.S. I realize all the admiration you get from us, the victims of narcs, is fuel for you. But you are really doing a great service to us Minions (that is me being sarcastic). Without you and your books, I still would be crying. I liken you to DEXTER. (perhaps you have caught the series). This is said with my upmost respect and admiration.
        XXXX = hugs

      2. Your normal is not my normal.i operate a form of love different to yours. Do I want to love in your manner? No. Will that change? Possibly. I’m not ready to do it and therefore I remain unwilling. Thank you for your kind comments they are much appreciated. You are right, not being able to feel certain things does provide an advantage.

      3. HG What is the norm in the world of “love” for you (narcs) My Narc said he loved me but did not want to be with me. Then he said he loved me as best he could and felt it very much when he was with me. He said he did not want to use me sexually or financially. He wanted to try to keep some sort of respect for a connection. He out right said he used the other ones but will not use me for his gain.
What is truth? All of it? None of it? Or possible somewhere in between there are words of truth because of the love he tries to feel?
I ask you because he is on the lower end of your scale, in my assertation of the situation, so I was wondering if you ever felt that you did not want to destroy someone to the point of no return because you might have felt something different for them.
Just your opinion is asked here, not a diagnosis.

        Your very loyal fan,
One and Only one of me,
        Steeviann

      4. It is all stated in order to draw you close to him and keep you there. All devices.
I never destroy anybody to the point of no return, that is self-defeating. I want to be able to come back repeatedly and drink of that delicious fuel again when it starts to pool again.

      5. But why does he want me close? I am work, trust me. I am told by my therapist that I would be a bit much for a narc in the end. Now he has to play by my rules too. When he spins out with his words, I have learned how to not fuel them. We talk about his upbringing and what he has experienced. We actually have like experiences. he is not doing a mirror or perhaps I am the one who mirrors. No I think not. I get him to talk about things that he might not share with anyone.

      6. I suspect he is playing a medium term approach here and this offloading is being done with a view to a greater goal. You may of course not be giving him fuel during these exchanges but he will be getting it from somewhere.

  9. So excited for you. I’ll keep watching your page views grow exponentially. If you are ever in the Midwest…I’ll make sure I’m in another part of the country. 😉

    1. PS. Did get to listen to some of it (well done!) and wasn’t surprised by your voice. Deep baritone (at least to me). Do you sing?

  10. HG,
So excited to hear about this!!! Thanks for telling us!
Look at the fuel! Just think what you could do if you started fracking!
I have another VIP event tonight with Joe Elliott so I hope you will put it on YouTube because I don’t want to miss out on anything! So happy for you! 👏💙💫

    1. Who knows So Sad, Clarece and T appear to be trying to lure me to the good old US too, but I think they are just going to kidnap me and force me to spill whilst tickling my feet with feathers. I know their game.

      1. Haha.. !!

On a serious note HG well done!!

Domestic abuse is still a very taboo subject so the more information that gets out the more victims can at least educate themselves and make decisions . Perhaps like me they know somethings wrong in their relationship but just don’t realise it’s abuse .
Keep up the sterling work HG .. !! Looking forward to the podcast today , will you be adding it to your You Tube Channel .. ?I think you should 🙂

      2. Thank you So Sad. Yes it is a different way of this information getting out there although this will be filed under fascinating/repulsive but I suppose you might adopt one of my doctrines namely the end justifies the means. Thanks for the kind words, I think it will be on YouTube anyway but that’s a good point, I shall have to work out how to add it to my channel, thanks.

  11. I am new to all of this so I just want to say Hi HG. I have read some of your books and you have me hooked. You know exactly how these type operate because you say you are one and yet you want to help people? x

    1. Hello Rapunzel, thank you for your message and I’m pleased you’ve found the books interesting. Helping people is not the primary intent. I am putting the information out there from a rarely read perspective to allow people to gain understanding and then make the appropriate decisions for themselves.

  12. I will definitely tune in, looking forward to putting a voice on these helpful in depth thoughts and elegantly formulated sentences 🙂

  13. I only suggested the use of an actor because I knew the possibility exists.. I grew up doing that work and was the voice for many characters… I have also learned not to trust anything… Looking forward to the broadcast!

    1. I say always abide by ones intuition. We are taught to ignore it too often. My ex did voice overs too, Evan. He is a master of voice disguise and accents.

      1. Yikes! I always thought I was someone that listened to my gut… It was screaming to me when I first became involved with G and I sadly, ignored… Never again…

      2. You probably do hear it and then dismiss it for various reasons, especially when told that it is wrong, paranoia, et cetera. I am learning that it is my barometer of truth, as I always knew it was.

  14. Interesting, is this a Uk radio show or American, HG? How were you approached for this opportunity or did you do they soliciting? It is radio, so you are speaking from a separate location or are you in the studio with the host of radio show?
Sounds exciting, more exposure for you, aka fuel. Best of luck during interview, I assume it is live? If we cannot Listen live, can it be heard following as well?

    1. US. It has already been recorded. They approached me. It is broadcast live but is available via iTunes and catch-up. It has been picked up by the iHeart network as well.

      1. Is this one of the readers who was able to reach out to you professionally for this opportunity? Or how did she hear about you? Did she prepare you ahead of time with questions she would ask, or was it fly by the seat of your pants? Very exciting venture!!

      2. Yes it was. No, I did ask for questions in advance but she conducts the interview as a free flowing conversation so it was a by the seat of the pants production.

      3. No doubt you will see a surge in hits and book sales. Good for you!

      4. We shall see, it will be interesting to see if it brings new voices to the blog which is always interesting. Thank you.

      5. I’m glad it’s a station here in the U.S. I was just about to say my prayers and then afterwards watch my daily dose of Peaky Blinders and use my Thomas Shelby solutions on my narcs except that i’m a lady lol…but then I said before I watch TV let me go onto my computer … I managed to check my email and find this. I just wanted to say congratulations on your radio debut. I’m going to make sure that I tune in and if I miss it I will definitely set aside the time to the rerun of the recording. Best of luck to you!

  15. Hi! The information you share is very valuable. It has helped me understand so many things. I am freshly discarded by my npd ex and feel like I’ll never recover. Your writings have helped me put things into perspective but I don’t know how to get over it

    1. Hello Tbryant thank you for your post and your kind comments. You will recover if you focus on yourself and evade the N who discarded you and ensure you are not ensnared by others. The key is to increase your understanding and I would suggest that along with what is written here as well as the contributions by the commenters, you read No Contact, Devil’s Toolkit, Fuel, Black Hole and Exorcism to assist you increasing your understanding and building your defences. With those in place you can tackle the other works as you see fit.

  16. It is on my calendar! I am excited. Voices are important. My narc said my voice is like candy to him.

      1. Well, I can say this about my voice, most know who they are hearing when I am on the phone. They say it is very recognizable. It is a lower voice due to the fact I have a vocal cord that is partially paralyzed and when it is 100% paralyzed, the women tell my voice is sexy. I don’t like it when this happens because it is actually painful. I can’t project my voice.
        I do not smoke.
I suppose to some it is a nice sounding voice and to others maybe not.
Do I think my voice is like candy to him. HELL NO. Just the syrup on his bland words to try to get me to drink them in.
It is a voice, this is all.

      1. This made me laugh, I forget that mute was a type as well. As you know, based in location, I can only be a Trumpeter. The mute is much more aggressive in nature. That is lovely that you see me as a Swan. They are beautiful creatures. Although some can turn quite viscious when provoked.

      2. NONE OF IT. Not because you do not have a wonderful voice or laugh, it is because he is not able to love anything.
