We never act alone. All through your entanglement with us we will utilise the services and dedication of those who are loyal to us. Before we have even spoken to you we will be compiling a dossier of information about you by contacting those who know you. We will utilise our lieutenants to approach you and gather intelligence which will all be passed back to us for the purpose of analysis and subsequent application. Once our seduction of you has begun you will be taken in by my butterflies. The butterflies are those who do my bidding and they always do, who always appear and please you. Like a beautiful butterfly he or she will flutter around you, making you smile with his or her pleasantries, charm and general goodness. Like a butterfly with striking colours and that delicate movement they have been sent to enchant you on my behalf and alongside my own endeavours. My butterflies will only ever say pleasant things to you, repeating and consolidating the charming words which I have sent your way. They will flutter around you complimenting the things that you dp, how you look and who you are. They will remark what a wonderful couple we are together and how they can see it lasting forever. Primed with all the speeches, sentences and rhetoric that we use, these butterflies will remind you of all our magnificent attributes and thus reinforce how fortunate you are to be with someone like us. They will point out how happy you are and confirm that you make us happy too, far happier than that other harpy that came before you. You must watch out for her by the way, she is a trouble maker and will want to split you and us up. These butterflies will primarily be friends of ours but over time we will want to recruit your own friends and family to be our butterflies as well. Not only is such a recruitment a massive boost to our egos, it also means that there will be added credibility when they fly around you issuing their compliments about us both. When you are told time and time again how wonderful you are, how sensational we are and how magnificent we are together, any doubts that you may have had, any degree of modesty about such over compliments will soon melt away as the array of fluttering butterflies transfixes you.

Real butterflies only live for somewhere between one and five weeks and like their real-life counterparts my butterflies have a limited shelf life as well. This of course is down to you because as usual you always end up spoiling everything. If you maintained my interest and ensured that the high-grade, positive fuel you have supplied for the last year or so was maintained then my butterflies would have continued but your fuel diminishes, it turns stale and is not at the required level we demand. Accordingly, the selfishness you exhibit in behaving in this manner causes those beautiful and mesmerising butterflies to fade away. Your lack of loyalty and treachery means that these beautiful creatures become replaced by my crows.

Noisy, dark and petulant my crows will descend on you as I commence my devaluation of you. Remember you have brought this on yourself so you cannot expect any sympathy from my dark minions who have been recruited, brainwashed and controlled in order to further my own malevolent ambitions. My crows act at my command as they, like you, relish any opportunity to gain my favour and attention. Like some medieval king I will grant them access to me and allowing the crow to bask in my radiant brilliance secures their loyalty. Like the butterflies my crows come from my ranks of friends and family but once again I shall seek to corrupt those from your support networks so that they might first appear as a butterfly before transforming into a squawking and mocking crow. It is even the case that some of my cast-offs, desperate to remain around me and be subjected to my wonderful largesse are recruited as my minions. Thinking that they will win my favour and more importantly keep you from it, they readily agree to carry out my will. Some of my minions do not realise that they have been manipulated into doing what I want. Instead they carry out my instructions in an oblivious fashion. Others are well aware that they act as my agents of destruction but they revel in this role. Their loyalty is without question. I have flattered and charmed them as I did with you. They recognise you as the enemy who has sort to usurp their king and therefore you must be destroyed. No wonder the collective noun for  crows is a murder.

My crows are unleashed to perpetuate the devaluation against you. My dark minions come forth in order to do my bidding. The crows flap around you, their dark wings making it difficult for you to see clearly. Their incessant squawking fills your ears as they scold you for your treason. My crows move quickly, announcing to your support network the terrible way you have behaved and before they can be struck down they fly away to flap around you once more, their cacophony of insults swirling about you. This near constant noise of insult and vitriol has all been fed to them by me. Like dark messengers they repeatedly assail you with their name calling and lies, making you anxious as you are under sustained attack. You try and swipe them to one side but they merely dodge your attempts and continue to mock you. As you grow weaker from these repeated assaults they fly closer and then begin to peck at you. Just as we control you through our notorious salami-slicing techniques this pecking from my crows steadily erodes your confidence, your self-esteem, your self-worth and your identity. The crows land on your shoulder and with vicious beaks peck away something more of you as you try to fight them off but the weakness that has gripped you makes this difficult. More crows come, ordered by me to continue this campaign against you. The deployment of my dark minions saves me energy and allows me to create my butterflies for my new target whilst you lie there curled up in a ball, the dark crows hopping over you, twisted beaks pecking at you, weakening you further. Those in my coterie, my lieutenants, my agents of darkness provide a fundamental role in both my seduction and devaluation of you. I cannot succeed without them and will always ensure that I have both a box of butterflies to open for you and a tree full of black crows waiting to attack you. Perhaps you need to find a scarecrow?

    I like that image.

    1. Joa says:

Oooh, beautiful!!! I love crow family! All birds of this family!

And I immediately admit, that I brazenly saved this image in my smartphone 🙂

Interesting. I’m pretty numb lately. Apart from soothing music, almost nothing attracts me or interests me. I don’t penetrate anything, I glide over the surface and keep going. I had to put it in my pocket my pride and frustration, swallow the rage, the humiliation, and the fact, that I had to submit to total, complexes idiots, weak and petty people.
      I focus on hard work.

And just at that moment, when very slowly, like fluff in the wind, I was losing my strength, this image washed me with a wave of positive emotions and energy 🙂 I felt so great again. Phew, I’m bouncing off 🙂
      Thank you 🙂

I don’t know how, but this picture worked wonders for me 🙂

      1. Asp Emp says:

Joa, good to see you 🙂 Interesting to consider that something can trigger one to ‘return’ to a certain ‘time’ in their past, and maybe, get ‘stuck’ there, until something else can trigger one to ‘return’ to the present. Glad to read that you ‘returned’ to the present. Always look forward, Joa 🙂 x

I have read your responses on how you recruit and employ crows to do your bidding but I am still confused as to how on earth you convince someone to bully a victim, spy on them, ostracize them etc. I can’t fathom asking a friend, no matter how loyal, to do to someone what has been done to me by my N’s minions. How can they be coerced into this?? Most normal people don’t enjoy destroying others on someone else’s commission…

    1. HG Tudor says:

Some of our Lieutenants are narcissists. It is done in subtle ways so that the Lieutenant or Coterie member forms a particular view of the target and then what is required of the Lt or Coterie member accords with their mindset (thus they are therefore far more likely to do it). Reward and threat may also be used.

  3. Anon says:

Thank for your heartbreaking and surreal choice of words, at least someone understands what happened to me and many of us, even down to calling the narc a king, as they do act and even sometimes call themselves as such. Much compassion and mercy to my fellow blood covered soldiers of love.

  5. Miss Fortune says:

Very insightful and beautifully written article. Thank you

How do you pick and recruit Luitenants?

    1. HG Tudor says:

      Thank you Miss Fortune.
Lieutenants are chosen for their ability to provide fuel, the residual benefits they may provide us, the traits they can give us and the fact they are highly susceptible to being charmed. We like to recruit from family members and then find people who fit those criteria who become our inner circle friends. I also like to recruit from the victim’s side as well, seeking our a family member and a friend, as a minimum. They are seduced in a similar way to the primary source and therefore we target them in a similar way to the way we target you.

      1. Joa says:

This is what my sister is going through 🙁 Attack from her husband and her own mother 🙁

“Mentally ill, fanatic, stupid, acts like a 5 year old, bad mother, bad wife, bad woman.”

I would like to add, that I do not know a better mother (she has four children) and another such a warm and very, very sensitive woman. When it comes to spreading good, I don’t even reach shes knees. I can only learn from her.

Dung! I no longer have a mother, after she mercilessly attacks my failing sister, echoing my brother-in-law. The vultures, that tear at her frail body! End. I don’t have a mother. She’s a monster, not a mother.

        1. Leigh says:

Joa, you speak about your sister in such glowing terms. She’s very lucky to have you. I’m so sorry that your mother isn’t treating her well. I hope your sister will be ok.

  6. luckyotter says:

Your writing excites me. I love the imagery used in this.

  7. centauride12 says:

Interesting post HG, but I have never experienced the butterfiles or the crows.

Would I be correct in thinking that the lesser of your kind do not always use this technique?

    1. HG Tudor says:

Correct. Their ability to have others do their bidding in such a way is much reduced.

  8. I almost feel as if I am living in some of your more recent posts and only because I am going through most of this stuff still…even post break-up. The excellent part is that it is not affecting me as bad as it used to, however I feel like you are my ex telling me exactly what you are doing…oddly.
Now, my exNarc does not have friends because he cannot trust anyone but he does have acquaintances. The way I received the butterflies and crows is more or less him in a metaphorically speaking way. He has given me the sweet dance of a beautiful butterfly numerous times since the break up but sent himself as a crow to attack when I don’t give him the desired action he wants. Sometimes I think his friends could possibly be in his head…maybe there are several and these are his little minions.

I do have to tell you that I appreciate your posts as I feel like I am being told the truth instead of the constant lies to get me to do what he wants. Still the same problem remains… I easily separate the two of you because he has a place in my heart…

  9. Cody says:

HG, do you ever triangulate your primary with MatriNarc? I’m sure you triangulate all of your primaries at some point with your ex-wife, no?

    1. HG Tudor says:

Hi Cody, I use MatriNarc to draw appreciation and sympathy from the primary source as a consequence of having had to endure this individual. I triangulate my primaries with one another repeatedly.

      1. mlaclarece says:

How has Mum treated your ex’s? Does she try to get on their good side or does she make them feel they’re never worthy enough to be with her boy or part of the family? I thought at some point, you said you never talk much about your childhood with a primary so how is it you draw their sympathy towards you? Just with how your relationship stands with your mom as an adult?

        1. HG Tudor says:

Early on she was all sweetness and light with them in order to maintain the façade but to me she would also tell me how they were “intellectually inferior to me”, “what she lacks in substance she makes up for in dramatics” (she missed the irony with that one) “clearly after money”, “comes from a dubious background” and so on. With later girlfriends she became more hostile and hated my ex wife because she had taken me away. I don’t talk much about my childhood with the primary sources. I don’t need their sympathy for what happened then. I do tell them how awful MatriNarc is towards me now and garner positive fuel from their reactions towards me arising from that disclosure.

          1. mlaclarece says:

Wow! So Mum planted the seed early on tainting each and every girl. She conditioned you to find fault with each girlfriend. What you may think is someone getting more comfortable you and lessening their fuel (which naturally could be happening) but you also have your mother’s voice echoing all these past flaws and since you’ve always yearned for her approval, all these gf’s eventually have to be cast off.
You know…as you were drawn to these women for their depth and emotions, I’m sure your mother coveted losing your attention to these women knowing they could expose what she lacked, in spades. Your job was to adore her, as her extension. How dare you fall in love with another woman.

          2. HG Tudor says:

More than likely that was the case Clarece.

          3. mlaclarece says:

As you continue to ponder this, I have too. I’d even go so far to say, that since you’ve blocked and don’t talk much about your childhood with your primaries, your mom still has you under her thumb with her tendril wrapped around you, preventing any relationship to grow and be successful.
I’m guessing as the years went on, her criticisms of your girlfriend’s always began with, “I didn’t send you to the best schools, pay for this extracurricular, be involved in whatever suited the purpose, to have this low class / socially awkward / drama queen / lush (insert negative adjective) impune her sterling image and worm her way into a solid family name. It was probably always how she did for you and this person will never measure up. So what happens? She continues to win. Not you. Her.

          4. HG Tudor says:

Her influence is waning. She will account for what she did. That is what is coming to her. I will win.

          5. mlaclarece says:

But was I on to something with her delivery of criticism when you were much younger?

          6. HG Tudor says:

          7. mlaclarece says:

I knew it. I always avoid the school moms or dance moms who talk that way about their kids, like the freakin’ plague!

Interesting post! The minions are the reason why the world could face a full-blown malignant narcissist as US President in just three months! Even is former ghostwriter says that if he´d have to rename the book he wrote for Trump 20 years ago (The Art of the Deal), he would call it `The Sociopath´. He describes how even back then, DT was addicted to attention aka fuel, had no attention span, and pathologically lied. Here is the article, it reveals all aspects of Trumps narcissim:

It´s really scary. What will happen to the world if this Narcopath wins the elections and becomes the next US President?

What is the difference between Psychopaths like Putin, Erdogan and Assad and someone like Trump?

    1. luckyotter says:

I am very scared of this man becoming President. Hitler won by general election too, and misrepresented himself as knowing how to “make Germany great again.” It wasn’t until he won the election that his true colors came out.

      1. Alice says:

@LO: Yes, exactly! Here is another article that describes how DT uses trauma-bonds and narcissistic abuse techniques to con people into following him:

I hope that US citizens will realise early enough what he really is!!! The most scary thing is that – unlike covered narcissists of the Greater categorie, or psychopaths (like Putin) he is not even able to control himself emotionally and obviously not able to act ‘as if’. Consider ing that he would be no. 1 and Commander in Chief of an atomic super power and all of our lives would depend on his reactions and “sanity” at any time, this could become a serious threat to mankind!

I understand that H. Clinton is not a very appealing candidate to many… but would a country as the US where narcissism is a known term really elect a A+ overt, irresponsible narcissist and digitale their own graves?

Europe & Germany have learned the hard way, but even here we are seeing an uprise of narcissistic leader in politics – the difference is that they are not deciding about unclear weapons on their own.

        1. luckyotter says:

I was/am a Bernie supporter but since he wasn’t nominated and a vote for him would mean a vote for Trump, I’m holding my nose and voting for Hillary. She’d just be more of the same, but more of the same is better than what would happen under Trump. Some German magazine even wrote an open letter some time back begging the US to not support Trump. Sure there are checks and balances but they don’t work well anymore and haven’t in years. This country is on a slippery slope to becoming a third world nation and/or a military zone with untold suffering and misery. I wish I could afford to flee the country if he gets elected. I’m just praying. Americans are idiots. Sorry.

  11. I love this post.

Butterflies can see green, yellow and red. Isn’t that helpful, HG? Green means go, yellow means yield and red, inevitably, means cease and desist. Brilliant.

I have always loved that a group of crows is called a murder. So fitting.

I always find something new and different every time I re-read one of your posts. I like to binge-read your blog often.

    1. HG Tudor says:

I did not know that about butterflies, but now I do. Thank you. I only see in black and white. Yes the collective noun for a group of crows is an excellent one.

      1. I see red too, but it rarely means stop.

        1. HG Tudor says:

      2. Alice says:

So no shades of grey, that´s surprising!

  12. Miss_stress says:

Butterflies to HG, crows to others. With the exception of gathering Intel for HG, they transform to butterflies and back to crows to devalue and smear. .
In my mind compliments won’t get you everywhere. I see them very clearly. The crows are always more prevalent, it is like. A bird sanctuary, at times. As well, the butterflies can transform Into crows….when they defend their master, when they devalue another for their master, when they intentionally harm and malign for their master. Recall with the Narcissist…The butterfly is merely a facade, an illusion, a mask ..there are really only crows and it is a pecking order. It is called minions of darkness, not fluttering beauty and light.
The real butterflies are in the beauty of nature and are in Human form those ensnared by the Narcissist. Not those employed or deployed by the Narcissist. Those crows are flying monkeys.

This is a exquisite piece of writing HG. I enjoy revisiting your writings from when I was previously on the blog. It is interesting to read them again and see what emotions they still evoke within me.
I love that image you used here as well.

    1. HG Tudor says:

Thank you. I repeat certain articles for two reasons. Firstly, there are those who only ever delve into that which is placed before them and therefore they missed the article the first time around. Secondly, it allows those who read it previously to find something new and different in it as a measure of the progress that they are making with me.

      1. Miss_stress says:

Yes I have yet to read articles still from 2015. It is good to see if ones view has changed over time and to be acquainted with your writings.

  13. 1jaded1 says:

Thank you for reposting this one. Valuable and another reason to trust no one.

    1. HG Tudor says:

      You are welcome.

  14. Brilliant HG

So…….. How do you get your butterflies and crows to be so loyal to you. Do they only get the flattery ? Or do they get small doses of devaluation to keep them trauma bonded ? Do any of them ever walk away from you ?

    1. HG Tudor says:

For the most part they receive the golden period. Occasional one is made an example of and the others realise they do not want to suffer the same fate and thus they are kept in line. The odd one may not function as I would prefer and thus they become the example that is made.

      1. That’s incredibly helpful HG – thank you 🙂

        1. HG Tudor says:

          You are welcome Alexis.

    2. Miss_stress says:

Excellent questions Alexis, I missed you on here. Hope all is well your way.

      1. All good thanks missy I’ve missed you too !! I’ve been messaging you, I think HG has been up to his old tricks again !! An N is an N is an N !!

        1. Poetic_Me says:

Thank you Alexis, I understand….I almost wanted to sing the ending….have wonderful Saturday. When I see your posts I will respond.

          1. An you’re so lovely missy !! So what’s with the name change ?

          2. Poetic_Me says:

You can still call me missy, I like it. It was suggested I change my screen name, I asked for suggestions and that one, stood out to me. Based in my long love affair with Poetry and Prose.
I have read on the blog since last weekend, so unsure if you have been posting.
Hope all is well and MN is behaving himself and you are keeping him in line xx

  15. Yo says:

Yeah my ex NARC always flirted witg all waiters, making jokes both with girls and guys.
I never could understand for what he tries ti show/make them the best friends

    1. HG Tudor says:

      Now you do know, Yo.

  16. Dear Alfred Hitchcock.
Do u have butterflies/crows on your blog? I’ll be watching the birds while awaiting your answer.

    1. Maddie says:

      I don’t think he needs them here Anna…or maybe I’m wrong 😉

    2. Miss_stress says:

      Are you being rhetorical?

        1. Miss_stress says:

I thought so 😊 just wanted to confirm. I asked this back into winter, Hg denied such. I am of another opinion.

  17. Maddie says:

Amazing and very metaphoric but that’s Your stye G. x

  18. Stephanie says:

My N had no crows, we lived in different states. Oh but the whole of my world, family, friends. saw this monster and never like him. He did not have a chance in my world for long.
The more I think of it, he was not a very good N. Pick a lane and stick to it. Low, Medium or High level N.
He has his sister to care for him when he is older. She is single too. They are going to celebrate their birthdays together. Oh I am sure they will.

  19. Fool me 1 time says:

I always liked this one HG! Good night. Xxx

  20. nikitalondon says:
