HG, I’m wondering if you’ve ever done a blog about literary characters who are obvious narcissists. The ones who immediately come to my mind are Heathcliff and Scarlett O’Hara. And, of course, the ultimate narc sociopath, Lord Voldemort — since almost all of Rowling’s characters are metaphors for mental disorders (Harry = PTSD, Hermione = OCD, Ron = inferiority complex, Snape = paranoia, etc). What do you think, Tudorites? Reads any good narcs lately? (Besides HG, that is.)
I am telling you that we are the kindly good doctor, the mother, the over bearing friend, the courageous cop, the demanding CEO, the brilliant surgeon, the bar fly, the dedicated teacher, your sister, your son, your father – we occupy positions you would not have believed until reading my work.
Yes, teaching is one of the jobs that would appeal to your brethren.
They can scapegoat half of the kids, have golden children. They get kid’s emotional attention.
