Very sad and well observed in the children-parents dynamic. Parents are never wrong or have the duty to say sorry only because they raised you. (I despise that perception, narcissists or non-narcs involved, as a child and as a parent). I believe in respect and appreciation born not out of fear but out of a parent’s good example and the child getting the idea (in years). If that won’t do, nothing will, that means nature overcomes nurture.
I was seduced by an old British pen pal from 20 years ago. Upon discovering he omitted the fact he lived with his IPPS and their children, I immediately apologized for the role I had unbeknowingly played and ceased contact. He said he slept in a separate room and begged me not to leave him. He never apologized for leading me on or betraying them but was angered at me for my apologies. I felt more guilt than him for participating in deception I had no idea I was participating in.
Dear Mr Tudor,
It’s like they “burn within” at the very thought that we should expect an apology .. how dare us !! The almighty does NOT say sorry!
( I’ve seen the look in their eyes, that loooooong hatred stare, at the very thought)
If someone doesn’t say sorry …. it’s gotta be a narc … haha
