    I got top grades in a communication class for identifying all these and more. You forgot denial, minimisation, discounting, distraction, and blaming. You focused only on derailing.

    You nailed it. I can relate to almost all of them. Number 2 is his favorite. He would use a list of previous partners as examples or reasons. By the time he made it to partner 3 or 4 I couldn’t even remember what we were talking about.

    Doesn’t matter. If he ever gave me the courtesy of a straight answer I’d think he was lying.

    Never any nastiness. Just….vanishing into ghost-like thin air. He would never want to damage that whole nice guy churchy piano facade. An angel with a dirty face. But always a polite gentleman.
