    Dear HG,

In the book CHAINED you write “they (the CoD) is an arrested form of our kind (the narcissist).”

On your post titled THE EMPATHIC SUPERNOVA you say “Whereas the Co-Dependent has strong and many empathic traits with little and low narcissistic traits…”

My question is: if CoDs and narcissists are born of the same “soil” and share a kindred “seed”, did the CoD’s
narcissistic traits and the narcissist’s empathy become the proverbial “collateral damage” of a failure to thrive scenario with regards to a person’s collective personality?

Thanks in advance if you are inclined to answer!

    1. HG Tudor says:

Hello E and L, the CoD started out life as a narcissist but rather than become one, they in a sense, became the opposite of the narcissist yet need the narcissist extensively for the reasons explained in Chained. They sailed so close to becoming a narcissist but then diverged so they became more or less an opposite yet hugely drawn to narcissists. Their N traits became sacrificed, they are still there but not as extensively. With regard to the narcissist, the empathy did indeed become the collateral damage as in the loss of it or the failure for it to even develop to begin with.
