A Very Royal Narcissist – Update Part 12
Following the “Sandringham Summit” a number of matters have been decided on with regard to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Here is the further analysis on the ongoing saga. My observations are in bold and italics.
1. Buckingham Palace Statement
Buckingham Palace released a statement. This is produced below with explanation as to how this relates to the behaviour of Meghan Markle to enable you insight into the workings of the narcissist mind. Remember, the establishment of her being a narcissist was achieved based on a whole host of material in earlier articles (much of it before she became the Duchess of Sussex) and therefore the analysis is based on behaviour and reaction through the prism of narcissism.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are grateful to Her Majesty and the Royal Family for their ongoing support as they embark on the next chapter of their lives. (False Appreciation and Facade Management – you have given us (me) what I want, which is control and although this need for control is unconscious this then allows me to be apparently gracious in response. This is a benign form of manipulation – similar to the paying of a compliment, buying a gift, taking you out for dinner when it is performed by a narcissist. The act of paying a compliment does not meant that someone is a narcissist, but when a person has been established as a narcissist through the analysis of a pattern of sustained behaviours, then everything they do is either a Benign Manipulation or a Malign Manipulation. These are necessary to enable the narcissist to control people, either in a good way or an unpleasant or even horrendous manner. The Duchess of Sussex needed control and as explained in early A Very Royal Narcissist articles, this meant leaving the UK under the “stepping back” arrangement. This has not been stopped. Therefore, Miss Markle retains control and this allows her (and Prince Harry who toes the line as an Intimate Partner Primary Source who is in the grip of control) to express gratitude. His, as a non-narcissist is genuine and has no ulterior motive other than thanks. Hers is a manipulation and is unconscious and instinctive. “You have done what I want, have a reward, I will be nice to you.”
“As agreed in this new arrangement, they understand that they are required to step back from royal duties, including official military appointments. They will no longer receive public funds for royal duties. (Agreement Only As Control Has Been Achieved – be under no illusion you will never have any guarantee of making a narcissist do something that you want. If it happens, it is because the narcissist wanted it to happen. If you think otherwise, this is an honest mistake borne out of a failure to understand what narcissism is and the impact of misleading Emotional Thinking. The Sussexes wanted to step back from royal duties so stating that “they understand they are required to step back from royal duties” makes it sound as if they have had this imposed on them, they have not. It was a requirement of the assertion of control of Miss Markle. She has got what she wants and therefore has no issue with such an observation. What about no longer receiving public funds for royal duties, surely that is a blow to the grandiosity of a narcissist (note not all narcissists operate with grandiosity)? Not in this instance. This is because of Grandiosity and Magical Thinking. The Grandiosity will be that the Sussexes do not need public funds for royal duties and and will be allied with Magical Thinking that they will be able to generate a host of income streams from a variety of commercial means (part of the purpose of stepping back from royal duties) and do so extensively and successfully.
“With The Queen’s blessing, the Sussexes will continue to maintain their private patronages and associations. While they can no longer formally represent The Queen, the Sussexes have made clear that everything they do will continue to uphold the values of Her Majesty. (Facade Management and Future Faking – again, since Miss Markle has got what she wanted and feels in control, it is easy enough to state that they will uphold the values of Her Majesty. Moreover, a narcissist will state that they will do something in the future as a means of controlling the NOW which is what the narcissism operates to do. Whether the narcissist will ever carry out the future event, is largely irrelevant, because the purpose of the stated intention is controlling the moment and by the time the future event arrives, the narcissist´s position with regard to control will have altered. The narcissists sense of entitlement, lack of emotional empathy and lack of accountability means that the future event might be delivered, but again, only if that serves the narcissist´s need for control. More usually, having obtained control, the future event is never fulfilled.
“The Sussexes will not use their HRH titles as they are no longer working members of the Royal Family. (Again you might think that not using the HRH titles sounds like some form of demotion and ordinarily, that would be a matter of concern for a narcissist as it would impact upon the notion of superiority and feel, to the narcissist, like a threat to control. However, in this instance the Sussexes chose not to be working members of the Royal Family, the non-use of the HRH titles is in accordance with and ratifies what they want, therefore control remains intact.)
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have shared their wish to repay Sovereign Grant expenditure for the refurbishment of Frogmore Cottage, which will remain their UK family home. (Future Faking – this is nothing that is set in concrete. It is merely stated as a wish which sounds useful to state now, for the purposes again of asserting control and for Facade Management. Since it is only stated as a wish this is as long way from being a cast-iron obligation and will only be undertaken if it suits with the narcissist´s need for control. The potential outcomes are either it is never repaid, it is repaid by Prince Charles for example on behalf of the Sussexes (he has provided them with significant financial support in the last year so aside from the refurbishment, their call on the Sovereign Grant was approximately 5% of their income) or they secure the jackpot of commercial deals, chat show appearances, book deals, after dinner speeches etc so that repayment is hardly an issue. Once more, the control remains intact.)
“Buckingham Palace does not comment on the details of security arrangements. There are well established independent processes to determine the need for publicly-funded security.
“This new model will take effect in the spring of 2020.”
The content of the statement merely demonstrates that its content accords with the sense of control which Miss Markle has at the present time, control which continues to assert itself over Prince Harry so that he acts in accordance with the stated intentions, believing and misled by his Emotional Thinking, that this is the right way forward. For now, the control remains intact, but for how long?

Kate’s expression looked so relieved and relaxed, compared to the tight, stressed look it’s had. I have a feeling she never entirely understood MM’s resentment and constant efforts to compete. Kate knew that in the BRF, you may have material perks but very little power over policy. You get to wear expensive but often uncomfortable clothes while you shake hands with people in North Bumblefuck-on-Tyne or some foreign dignitary you may find personally repellent.
Meghan has been acting as if this were one of those high schools where you can be prom queen if you get enough votes. She wouldn’t enjoy BEING Queen Consort, especially not if she had to set the kind of example the Queen Mum set during WWII, which involved being jeered at and having trash thrown at her when she spoke to people after the bombings.
Two famous remarks by the Queen Mum:
On being advised to send the princesses away from London:
“The children won’t go without me. I won’t leave the King. And the King will never leave.”
After the palace was hit:
“Now we can look the East End in the face.”
She won the people’s good will to such an extent that the WWII generation, at least, forgave her her excessive spending and alcohol-chugging in her later days.
MM has no concept of this kind of royalty. If she realized that only if every member of the Cambridges died would she and Haz move up in the rankings, it only made her wonder if there was a way to arrange that. Many British citizens have begged the Cambridges to stop flying all together on one plane

Lorelei: no, she did exactly that. Some people said she was “a breath of fresh air,” but I remember thinking, “okay, nylons suck, but she could definitely afford silk now.” Can you imagine having an excuse for silk stockings and NOT using it?
OTOH, I don’t think she knows very much about fabric. Her choices both for herself and for the “capsule collection” show that. Odd that she intends to be a fashion icon.
I don’t accept it is my age making me old fashioned—she’s not a ton younger than me and I’m glad I wasn’t incorrect about the stockings. You want to look classy you wear them and keep jewelry classic. Understate your makeup and hair. Period. I purposely straightened my hair and wore light makeup for a professional photo. It’s common sense. And you don’t complain.
I second the brilliance of this NA. Unfortunately, Harry doesn’t have a broom and dust pan because he doesn’t know he needs one. This is quite sad, we’ve all been there.
HG, will you explain about the notion that narcissists are increasing in the human populace. I feel like I have actually watched this happen on social media, particularly Facebook where people can be semi-anonymous and become armchair experts and critics taking off all filters to freely vomit their unconsidered and unsubstantiated opinions and impose them, sometimes violently and even abusively, upon others. What is the mechanism or trend which is creating more narcissists? Or, if narcissists are hard-wired for the condition, is it merely genetic in nature and as the population expands, the percentage of narcissists is expanding too?
I will be writing about this in more detail but in broad terms :-
1. Narcissists arise from GPD and LOCE. The more people there are, it follow that there will be more narcissists in terms of number.
2. The usual support networks that operate through empathy are exceeded more and more with the result that more and more LOCE have been created. Previously, someone may have the GPD to narcissism but not have the LOCE and thus they do not become a narcissist. Now, there is a greater likelihood of them being in a LOCE environment and thus becoming a narcissist and thus more narcissists are being created.
3. Narcissists usually control the narrative and influence the behaviours of normals (and to some extent empaths) who therefore engage in more narcissistic behaviours (although they are not narcissists) owing to the herd mentality of human beings. A brief example would be selfies. Somatic Narcissists use these a lot, these start being used extensively, some non-narcissists see this and think it is the way to behave on social media and thus copy the behaviour. They are not narcissists, but they engage in a behaviour embraced by narcissists and start to cultivate an appearance of even more narcissists.

I’m very protective of the janitors where I work. One is an educated teacher from Ghana. Her name is a letter in the alphabet and she makes me happy when I see her. It’s not the job one has but they smile they do it with! Several of our assistants who do “dirty work” were also nurses in other countries and the education does not transfer.
WC, it was a jab at Harry, not the janitors. My mother-in-law, a university-educated person who had a stellar career in her field, used to be a janitor during harder times, and my husband helped her during teenage years.
Dammit, the janitor comment is the second one I made on this blog that may seem offensive to someone. First one was “dining out or AP” from the other thread; and I still feel bad I unintentionally hurt someone’s feelings by that one.
I think I should stop commenting here and just read instead.

I thanked you for the laugh! …it was after I sent my comments in that I started thinking…oh wait – *I* didn’t want to offend anyone…I am university (and other wise) educated and took that job, at the time, because you do what you need to do for your family (or what you perceived you needed to do for your family at the time).
You can attribute my back-pedaling likely due to an oversensitivity (on my part) to offending anyone because the trend of some here being so easily offended – lately.
But, fuck no – I am not that easily offended and I needed the laugh! (Court yesterday.)

If people try hard enough they can be offended by anything. Picking a janitor or mailroom job as the basis of a joke or comment is as old as the hills merely because that’s where people were expected to start in a business and work their way up. People in those jobs are as hard working and deserving of respect for what they do as anyone else.
Obviously it was meant as a joke. We all know it’s lawyers at the bottom.

Actually…I have to qualify that comment (before someone accuses me of being unempathetic towards Canadian janitorial staff). I was sort of laughing at myself too…and then it became quite sobering…because towards the end of entanglement I took a cleaning job (despite being highly over-qualified) because:
1. It was all I could manage, cognitively.
2. It was right beside my other employment, so it worked logistically.
3. It was out of the public eye – which was preferable.
4. I had to support a child and a narc on “stress leave.”
5. All the money was gone.

I just saw The Sun article about Harry being an undesirable candidate for immigration because he never went to university, has a shady employment history and is in a dangerous age group. Beware, Canadian janitors! There’s an unskilled immigrant who came to steal your jobs!
Harry is now in a very different situation, living in a different continent, more or less as a ‘commoner’, not required to project the earnest traditional image of a royal family member.
His new lifestyle will probably be exciting and new at first, like setting off on a new adventure and seeing how life feels under new circumstances with his new wife and child.
I wonder if the excitement will wear off after a while and whether he’ll start to miss his ‘old life’ and having his family around? Or will he revel in his new found freedoms?
Meghan strolling through a park followed by two security guards looks staged to me. She is looking straight at the cameras while smiling broadly. She actually looks pleased to see the cameras there. It’s obvious that she knows the cameras are there. And, wouldn’t you know it, there was a large gathering of African heads of government and other leaders at Buckingham Palace the same day.
I think Meghan felt the need to get her picture in the papers to upstage the other royal event, just so that Harry would have a reason to launch a legal warning against the paparazzi. What an absolute farce! She is the queen of photo opportunities.
Meanwhile poor little Archie looks like he might drop out of Meghan’s baby carrier at any moment. He looks very uncomfortable with his legs dangling and only narrow straps and one of Meghan’s arms holding him up. Meghan couldn’t care less though while she parades …sorry …strolls and beams at the cameras.
Seeing Archie like that irritates me more than anything else. It looks like Meghan cares more about having trendy hiking boots and a designer baby carrier and smiling for the cameras than she does about properly supporting her baby. Archie is big enough to be in a stroller when out walking. And this is outside in full view of cameras. Who knows what she’s like when they’re at home alone? I think poor Archie means little more to her than having a fashion accessory.

Your comment on intelligence of the narcissist vs. their victim struck me…I can see now in the entanglements around me that usually the narc is the less intelligent one but has honed in (instinctively) on the vulnerability of their target in a moment in time. (And I have heard this more than once in the stories of others.) I know when I met mine I was actually on an upward trajectory with regard to my life, my independence, my career etc. (and I was definitely brighter than him) but I was emotionally vulnerable.
Their timing to pinpoint a vulnerability in potential victim is spot on…poor Harry.

The next period will be interesting, as the attention should naturally abate from now on. That will relieve Harry but may be unbearable for MM. Yesterday’s announcement by the Duchess of Cambridge about her early childhood initiative is now (deservedly) getting publicity. But once again she has had to share the limelight with the Sussexes, who issued a legal warning about pap shots. If MM had staged the video, all she would have to have done is plant it just in time for Harry’s return, knowing that it would press all his reactive buttons. Then, voila! Spotlight moves directly. back on her, just in time to upstage Kate.

A news headline on DM from today: “It’s the best thing that could have happened to him.” There’s no way to tell if Meghan actually said it to her friends about Harry leaving behind his family, his long royal lineage, and his culture, or not. However, if she didn’t, it seems to me that she would have wanted to say it. Grinning into the cameras who took images of her walk with lopsided Archie (no good mother would think those narrow straps cutting into a baby’s behind and legs could be comfortable, where is the padding, oops, where might be the empathy) and her dogs. With her security behind her. Looks like a Cheshire Cat smile to me.
Do you think it’s possible that MM ‘accepted’ the HRH title dropping because the Queen ‘showered her with compliments’ (told the world MM did a great job as a royal)?
The new videos that have surfaced from the LK red carpet are interesting. H begging Jon Favreau for a job saying they’d do anything and then MM jokingly saying the only reason they attended was to pitch, followed by a “just kidding” and fake laugh.

I am certain Meghan hired the photographer for the following reasons:
1.) the quality of the images as well as the fact that she looks straight into the lens several times suggest he stood very close to her and she could see him taking photos. Even a long lense would not produce this kind of high quality footage that is especially visible in the video of her. It is also unlikely that he would have just “gotten word” of her going for a walk in such a remote area at this precise time, he would be more likely to have been called to take her picture
2.) walking two dogs on a leash while handling a child in a carrier is not only a safety hazzard, but also very uncomfortable and unusual. She would likely not be able to do this for a prolonged time or on repeated occasions. It does however make for a great “wholesome” photoshoot
3.)one of the bodyguards is on his phone while walking behind her, the entire time.
4.)in relation to that, why are both bodyguards behind her. It would make sense for one to walk in front of her in case someone comes charging out of the woodwork and especially so given the remote area she is walking in. But then he would be in the picture and we would not have gotten that portrait shot of her.
5.) Meghan is covering the carriers’ brand name whilst holding her son, but the Dailymail already knows which exact model she used to carry Merchie and how it can be worn in several different styles:

suggesting she might have been paid for the exposure, as was the case when Merchie wore H&M.
There’s also evidence this picture was not taken in Canada to begin with:
1.) there was supposed to be snow in this area only two days ago but it seems to have melted rather quickly, leaving no traces behind
2.) one of the shots shows a parked car and while it’s license plate isn’t visible, you can see that the plate itself is yellow. That would suggest that it might be a british car.
3.) the fence next to the car also has a sign on it that seems british in style
4.) she has already been shown to edit the pictures of her picking up one of her friends at the airport few days before this, as well as on another occasion where she was seen boarding a plane (they were likely taken in december)
Meghan has now declared that she will take legal action against the photographer (that she hired herself) because he kept invading her privacy, also claiming that he tried to take pictures of her in her home. This act would serve a multitude of purposes, but will certainly motivate Harry to be doting and protective as ever, since they wont even leave his wife alone now, that she’s on another continent (she will play the victim in this case). It might even reaffirm to him that what they did was necessary.
Response to video Desiree shared. I had the creepiest thought after watching it that she seemed to be aware of the pap and didn’t mind It. I guess if they were using a long lens she wouldn’t know.

Yep, and now the Sussexes (read: MM) are issuing the warning to the press over these “paparazzi” shots! Does she take the whole world for a fool? Everyone on the planet except Harry realizes this outing was staged and she orchestrated the pictures herself. WTF?
What bothered me most about that outing wasn’t that it was pathetically see-through set up by MM; or the way she was dragging a poor overgrown child in a newborn sling; or that Archie was suffocating and probably felt severe pain in his hips because his mom needed to keep him out of her face to smile for the camera; or that there were two bodyguards – one English and one Canadian policeman – on duty and we still don’t know who pays the security bill; or that a woman who ran away in order to get privacy chose to walk in a public place instead of on the enormous grounds of the multimillion dollar estate she’s staying in; or that it’s unsafe to carry a baby and lead two dogs at the same time; etc; etc.
No, what bothered me most was this: how was she going to pick up the dogs’ crap in such circumstances?

There has been speculation that Archie was safe with the nanny while MM did her pap.walk with a doll. This would explain the lack of squirming, the arm tied to her shoulder, and a wedgie that would indicate an absence of diaper (nappy), details my resolution isn’t high enough to see.
Either that, or she had the poor kid sedated so he wouldn’t ruin her big moment.

you’re right and she also aligned her outing with one of William and Kate’s engagements yet again. Hogging the limelight is all that matters and be it with these terribly staged images of her son almost falling out of the sling while she’s grinning straight into the camera. The video footage of this is entertaining although it does make you wonder if Archie is ok.

What I find telling, is that on all the recent pics MM is beaming. This says lack of empathy as on the other side, everybody from the Queen to the Courtiers is scrambling under intense media and public pressure to find an accommodating solution. Plus sadness is the word that dominates. The british people are sad, Her Majesty, Prince Charles, William , and the public at large as well. Yet miss Narc-le skippedy hips and hops, smiling, seemingly without a care in the world for the chaos that I believe she has caused , from day 1.

Hello HG Tudor, thanks for your posts and blog it helped allot when I first discovered the truth last year. Is it your opinion there is an increase in cluster B personality’s such as NPD? Or are we just more aware now? I had an interesting experience finding two in my life a girlfriend and a friend. I know the two were self aware because I figured out when the girlfriend hoovered me a 2nd time they identified each other. How often do you spot them in real life…(not online etc) Lastly im thinking its about 8% to 10% of the population…do you agree?

I was so relieved when I read that because post working out what my N was slowly, slowly I started seeing Ns everywhere but the official stats were less than 1% it just didn’t make sense. I thought I must have it all wrong and seeing things which weren’t actually there which wasn’t helpful when you’re already feeling a little nuts from all the gaslighting etc. When HG confirmed how high it actually was it was an incredible relief.
Realizing that no one asked for my opinion, I am going to give it:
I do not see him leaving her. I can’t tell if he is happy or not, but think maybe he likes her bossing him around.
He looks like a little puppy when he is with her. I would prefer to see him looking like a man.

Its incredible to see this happening. There is no doubt in my mind I recognize her moves, eyes, and that fake smile. How long? I give it a year….. when he does everything then catches her cheating.

Oh, I don’t know. I can see that morphing into ‘Til Tuesday’s “Voices Carry” video: hot, controlling yuppie tries to turn rat-tailed punk girl into polished society arm candy, knowing perfectly well that whether he can successfully transform her or not, he intends to dump her.
In the meantime, he causes endless conflict, as she struggles to understand why the qualities which appeared to attract him in the first place are the very ones he is repressing now. Perhaps long after, as she struggles to recover, the music which is her true self will still suffer.

I am reading Hamlet right now, and watching the film with Branagh portraying Hamlet, at the same time. The film is over four hours. So I watch about ten minutes, and then I read that portion of the play, to make sure I am hearing and seeing everything correctly, because of the oldish English. At this rate, I will probably finish it by next week. And then I plan to watch it straight through and then read it straight through. I am enjoying it all. The production with Branagh is magnificent. Seems to have been very costly to produce that dramatization.
No spoilers, Violetta! Even though I am probably the only person in the world that does not know how this play will end. Hahaha.
PSE: no spoilers. You might want to try another version after this, just so you can see how differently actors can interpret the same words and characters. The Mel Gibson one is also good, and I found the Kevin Kline one from 1990 to be one of the best in terms of clarifying the language.
