You are so right, privatejourney60, the rate of feminicide in France is a disgrace, and the government has cut down funds for associations and shelters helping those women who try to escape before it is too late!
Even the calls the women make to the police are not always taken seriously, as happened recently to a mother who was killed in front of her children by the man she had decided to leave (they no longer lived together, and she hadn’t obtained a restraining order yet).
Spain used to be worse than France, but they took firm measures in Spain years ago and it seems to give good results.
