  • What wounding actually is
  • What they think is wounding, when it is not

This results in repeated errors being made and No Contact Regimes failing.

    HG,

    Accurate material.

The wound definitely needs a FIRST AID KIT

One of the strangest things I’ve learned about narcissism is that narcissists can get PTSD from narcissistic wounding. There have been studies done on this. Most of the narcissists who have ensnared me have presented obvious PTSD symptoms, like anxiety and hesitation to enter relationships, that masked their narcissistic traits. My little empath heart wants to make them feel safe and love them, only to find out that they are snakes inside. At least two of the male narcissists I’ve known were virgins late in life because sex or its precursors had led to severe narcissistic wounds when they proved to be disappointing. The trauma from that prevented them from going back for more because their need to protect their egos trumped their physical needs. In my opinion, traumatized narcissists are by far the hardest to spot. Maybe material for future articles?

I have never come across any narcissist that has suffered PTSD from being wounded.

A narcissist may experience a fuel crisis from being starved of fuel and repeated wounding which may give the appearance of PTSD, but it is not.
It is not the trauma that prevents the narcissist from returning to be repeatedly wounded, but rather the self-defence mechanism that is narcissism.

This is very informative and accurate. I was able to pin point more precisely that my mom was a Middle Lesser and not a Lower Lesser because of the examples of behaviors for each school of narcissist. The description of reaction to wounding was an accurate illustration of her behaviors.

Is this different than Look Who’s Come to Dinner?

    1. HG Tudor says:

No, just made it clearer what it appertains to.

Thank you for clarifying HG. It worked well on Thanksgiving Day. Not so much in February!

        I appreciate this clarification.
