Wow you can feel the doom and gloom in this household. A very unhappy envirknment, which leads to the mystery if the characters! What happened to Heathcliffs wife and his son?? I had to laugh at how the daughter in law gets Joseph going with her threats of hexs lol Joseph seems a real sweetheart lol
There are still folks who think Emily didn’t write it, although:
A) a computer word algorithm supports the likelihood that she did (https://www.irishtimes.com/culture/books/who-wrote-wuthering-heights-1.4305162?mode=amp);
B) an incident Charlotte out in Shirley, where a female character cauterizes her own dog bite wound drawn from an actual incident with Emily, so we know she kicked butt.
I just finished chapter 1 and this will be fun because i don’t remember a lot of the story.as it’s been many years since i read it. I found a site and it summerizes each chapter and has a glossery to explain the wording. Very interesting! You add such a vivid picture of the characters and atmosphere HG! Can’ t wait to listen to chapter 2 and 3!
