HG Tudor explains why the narcissist engages in sudden rapid and obvious blinking and does using film footage of Harry´s Wife so you may see it in action.

It hit me today what it is about the eyes. There is no affect there but instead a constant watchfulness for how to keep things going the way they want. And for fuel opportunities I suppose. The “dead eyes” and the smile that isn’t quite right just became clear. It makes sense now where the intensity comes from, a predator watching their prey and almost trying to hypnotize them into compliance. And also the reactions happening just behind the event, with no real change in the eyes. It’s actually pretty creepy. I can think of it with relation to all my main narcissists.

Oh wow! And now Harry’s Wife 77.8 is released! Clear reinforcement!

I hated that book and movie, Christina’s story hit way to close to home and yet I both read and watched with some horrified fascination. I felt so bad for her, and I remember wondering how her life would be, having had such an awful beginning, wondering how one goes through life when no one has loved you.

I get it now! Wow! My husband has had that look too. Mommie Dearest really help me realize that. Every time I turn around, I figure something else out.

Leigh, I just saw this comment, I left you some about the eyes elsewhere earlier today, sorry! Glad you figured it out and yes, we are always learning! 🙂

Hahaha I love you HG and how you don’t say her name. You are so funny.

I’m guessing, HG…just guessing, that Greater narcissists don’t “rapid blink”?

    1. HG Tudor says:

      You are correct.

Ah, bless, HG, your usual wittiness applied as you describe MM’s ‘behaviours’ had me giggling. Absolutely wonderful.

Can I just ask you, HG, in relation to the narcissist’s blinking (as on this video), is it also a form of ‘attention seeking’? It comes across to me as if she is also showing ‘what about me?’ type of body language (in my view).

You talking about the narcissist’s anxiety and reduction of fuel levels – is it this a typical instance where the narcissism is actually causing the fuel levels to drop quicker and further because of the added anxiety? I suppose this could also lead to an almost ‘panic’ kind of response?

When she is speaking (around 11:15), she is also shaking her head – is this an example of her showing some kind of ‘WTF’ expression on her face, as if she is thinking ‘I am seriously annoyed’ and not yet ‘recovered’ from earlier ‘incidences’ that caused her wounding etc?

This was a really good and insightful video in relation to the narcissist blinking (this ‘robot’ has malfunctioned, laughing). I really enjoyed reading this, HG. Thank you for your continuous support to empower those with this important education into narcissism.

The first narcissist always yawned when he lied. He was concerned. I knew immediately that he was lying.

“My” narcissus hid much better. That sweet innocent face 😊
