Doug is right; it is the most important subject, and, in my opinion, not nearly discussed enough in connection to world events and politics. HG, anticipating with trepidation your predictions on Putin’s behavior. I fear we are on the verge of a World War, and you can read him better than anyone.

Thanks for saying so, and it’s a phrase taken from General Ulysses S. Grant when on the battlefield at Shiloh. The Union army officially suffered a significant defeat and this one of Grant’s thoughts shared with General William Tecumseh Sherman at the end of that first terrible day of fighting. He was not prepared to give up. It suited my mood when I joined.
I’m not likely to give anyone the notion of “licking me tomorrow”, especially on a public forum, but I’m sure it won’t be the first or last time my username is read that way 😛 Glad I could raise your spirits 🙂
