HG’s words in this comment. I benefited from the Angel Assistance Fund. I also have been putting back. Monetary and other support (not a great deal, but at least it’s something).
HG does a great deal, he works so hard. He also has his other professional work. If that pays him more financially, then, he has the right to choose that over the blog. The amount of work he put into the last month’s books readings and creating the videos, then moderating the comments, has been phenomenal.
The man behind the pseudonym ‘HG Tudor’ is a human being, he has the right to choose how he spends his time without anyone making little ‘digs’ about him not “being around” on the blog need to think about their own “donations” (monetary, or otherwise). What do they give to AAF? What do they give to the blog (in real terms)?
As HG suggests in his comment, some people give (some do very generously, thank you to those that do). Some people don’t give anything. HG gives more than he takes (my observation from his work on the blog, YT etc).
Volunteering. If anyone who has not done volunteering in the real world, then they have no true understanding of the concept of the word. I don’t do it for “Prime Aims”, nor Fame, nor Fuel, nor Control. I do it because I genuinely care. Yes, I may have become more selfish about who I give my support to, very few would understand why. Others will not “see” why. I am not financially ‘flush’, yet, had I been, I would have had no need to apply for assistance from the AAF when I did 2 years ago. I certainly would have created and paid a monthly donation to the AAF.
