  1. Asp Emp says:

David Bowie ‘liked’ his songs to awaken the ghosts but not the demons……

Douglas Adams (author) – says in an interview when he wrote this 5th book, he was trying to ‘distract’ himself from what he was experiencing at the time of writing…….

Guy de Maupassant (author of ‘The Horla’)…….

Stephen King (author), apparently wrote to drown that scariness of his mind……(he had a childhood trauma but did not remember what happened, he had a serious accident as an adult)

I am not suggesting all these are narcissists, or even psychopaths, but they all had one thing in common – their mind seemed to be partly something of an anathema to a degree. David and Stephen talked about their addiction to ie drink /drugs. Ok, maybe it was partly to assist ‘quietening’ of their mind? To ‘dull’ what they were trying to ‘stave’ off? Or, they ‘used’ as a means of inspiring themselves to increase their creativity ie to open up, partly the subconscious to “relax” a bit? None of these individuals appear to have the ‘quiet’ and therefore may not have been the type of people to sit there and relax, they had to keep themselves occupied. So, in some way, for these people, their minds may have both been a blessing (produce really creative pieces of work) and a curse (the need to be using their mind all the time).

So, in some way, these people were trying their own “method” of exorcism.
