My current ex-narc was very patronizing about his ex-wife: he was sorry for her, as she was so “flawed”.
My ex-narc before that was friends with all of his exes though: with his ex-wife, his ex-girl before that and the one after that. And even with me for a while.
I’m not sure how he managed to do that, because he was just as abusive with women as my current ex-narc was.
He was very funny though and fun to be around, once you were out off the war zone, maybe that was his trick.
Thank you HG I was thinking of how reactions provide a “show” of why we are the “crazy” and/or “abusive” one.
Split thinking reminds me of when I walk into work I literally have to shut off a part of me and slip into a different mindset or so they are still trying to beat this into me with little success. I feel like they are trying to kill a part of me that makes me me.
HG does this concept also apply to the more involved the ex was the crazier she is like for example will an ex fiancé or ex wife be deemed crazier than ex girlfriends? I would think the wounding from ex fiancés/wives would be greater so naturally they would be smeared more but maybe I am wrong. Do you describe your ex wife as crazier than your most immediate ex or is your most immediate ex described as most crazy?
I am an ex-gf and am being smeared to kingdom come. However I did escape and expose him. Perhaps it’s all relevant to how much effort it takes to “cover their tracks”
Hi Jasmine. I escaped and exposed my ex. His wrath is frightening.
It’s not so much the character assassination because he uses that with people who don’t know me . . . it’s the hoovers despite the restraining order that gets to me. I know he can be violent. The end was not long ago and I am still raw. “Did anybody get the license plate number of the truck that just hit me???”

If they are crazy chances are the narc made them that way. Narcissists paint us black and white and a recent ex is pitch black.
“Crazy” ex seems to be one of the first lies they tell. Funny how “we” become the crazy ones.
HG don’t the narcissist long time friends ever wonder why everyone around the Narc is “crazy”?
No, because it isn’t everybody around us.
Would this be due to how “we” react after disengagement?
In part but also the split thinking with regard to you.
