Mr. Tudor–
1. Are you composing and playing the music for the outros you’ve begun adding to the end of “The Ultra in Conversation” series? (I’m guessing you are.)
Regardless of whether it’s all you, your taste is exquisite. They’re glorious.
Loss and hope describe the second piece on “Tarot by Andie” to me. It’s hypnotic. It brings tears to my eyes. It gets to the end, and I wish it wasn’t over. I’ve listened to it many times already, those last three minutes…and it’s the same perfect incandescent beauty each time.
2. When you’re composing, how do you begin? Do you consider first what you want your listener to experience or is composing a wholly intellectual exercise of chords/tempo/etc?
3. Do you ever convey your feelings through what you’re composing (I know that you don’t have the same range of feelings…you don’t feel happiness, etc. But you have a range of feelings.)?
4. Does anything you’re experiencing or have experienced ever end up coming out in your compositions or performances?
Thank you for your time. Thank you so much for all that you do.
1. Some of them, yes and thank you.
2. I decide what I wish to convey.
3. There will be times where feelings will play a part also.
4. Yes.
HG, reading your answers of # 3 & 4 reminded me of what Douglas Adams said when he was writing his 5th book of the series. I do not know what he is, yet I enjoyed his books. I also remembered David Bowie’s quote regarding the ghosts, not the demons when he composed his music.
Hi Asp:
God I love Bowie. Did HG do a tudorscope on him? Narc?
Bowie was influenced by the memories, spirits, and echoes of the past rather than being driven by darker forces or inner turmoil and he had inner turmoil from his past and drug use, death of his brother and a mother that reminds me of HG’s.
Bowie drew heavily from lots of genres ever changing like a chameleon ( thin white duke, ziggy stardust, sexually fluent? Sober loyal hubby) such as the blues, rock ‘n’ roll, jazz, soul, and electronic music and pretty much everything.
Bowie was an intellectual who was influenced by authors such as the works of writers like William S. Burroughs and philosophers such as Nietche ( narc). I read a book by Jean Genet as Bowie recommended it.
His music often reflected the societal and cultural shifts of his time, capturing the spirit (“ghosts”) of the era.
Narc or not, a fave!
HG mentioned somewhere that Bowie was a Greater and upon that I watched the documentary about his wife Iman. She adored Bowie and adores him still. That made me think… hmmmm a relationship with a Greater went well, interesting.
Contagious, Jordyguin is correct about Bowie’s school. I watched a programme about Bowie and because I knew what he is, it made the viewing of his interviews, interacting with other people and so on, more interesting to observe. Some behaviours observed were obvious, other behaviours were more subtle – like ‘operating from the same book’ and ‘found in translation’.
Thank you, sir, for answering!
I would love to have more videos of your music.
1. What sorts of experiences are in your mind when you afterwards receive compliments on emotion from those in attendance at your concerts or when you self-evaluate a recorded performance as more emotive?
2. Do you play instruments more when the prime aims are in play (someone is with you) or just for you?
You’ve said that you can write an article for narcsite in an hour.
3. How long does it take you to compose a song?
Dani: Does anything you’re experiencing or have experienced ever end up coming out in your compositions or performances?
HG: Yes
4. Would you share a composition and performance with us, then what was on your mind during the composing and playing?
5. What are common threads in what you find yourself wishing to convey through your compositions?
It would be interesting to watch you play, to see your eyes, your body language, your face as you play…particularly if it were a situation where the prime aims were not originally in play. What are you like when it’s just for yourself. If the prime aims were in play, it would be a different kind of intensity being experienced. I know that we can’t have parts of that right now, and I understand…but I found it very special to see you playing guitar in that short. It was lovely.
Thank you so much for your time. I really appreciate it.
1. I do not perform at concerts.
2. It varies.
3. It varies.
4. Possibly.
5. Various things.
Thank you, sir!
Dani: Would you share a composition and performance with us, then what was on your mind during the composing and playing?
HG: Possibly.
*looks hopeful*
1. If you are playing for someone, do you ever let them pick a song they want to hear?
2. When you play for people, do you like to see them for fuel and control purposes?
3. What schools of narcissist musician would sit with their back to an audience? Is that be a weird sort of “assertion of control via withdrawal?”
Thank you so much for your time! Much appreciated.
1. Yes.
2. Naturally.
3. None in particular.
Thank you, sir. Much appreciation! It’s so good to have you back on narcsite.
Mr. Tudor–
You’ve said that your appreciation of music is intellectual, rather than emotional. You play multiple instruments, guitar and piano (maybe more?).
1. With music that you appreciate, when there are vocals, are you more interested in the way the music is put together (chords/rhythm/main instruments/etc) or more in the meaning of the lyrics or is it something else?
2. Have you ever genuinely acquired an appreciation for a band/composer/piece of music/etc that started as a need to control another person (by agreeing with them about liking that music)?
Thank you so much for your time. Much appreciated.
1. The content of the lyrics.
2. The appreciation would not be genuine if it arose out of a manipulation.
Thank you sir! Much appreciation.
1. Are there common threads to the content of lyrics that you are most drawn to?
2. Have you ever used music to foreshadow things to come with an IPPS?
3. Have you written any lyrics?
Thank you so much for your time. Much appreciation.
1. No.
2. Yes.
3. Yes.
Thank you so much for answering.
1. When you’re at a concert and the audience begins an impromptu (or prompted by the lead singer) sing-a-long, do you join in usually?
2. Is it usually a huge rush of fuel to a narcissist or a threat to control to have the audience join in (unprompted)?
3. If the answer to 2 varies based on the school of the narcissist, which are more likely to revel and which are more likely to be annoyed?
Thank you so much for your time! Much appreciated.
1. I usually sing at concerts where the work is known to me.
2. If the narcissist is the lead singer, it is a massive amount of fuel having the audience respond.
Thank you, sir. Much appreciation.
Dani, they love using music 🙂
They create a mood (of various types) and smuggle a message – a leading thought.
I also happened to be punished through music (N1 sent one music file – with the annotation: “For punishment”). And it was indeed very unpleasant – as if he had slapped me + revealing the true nature of the sender + my gag reflex.
It was some Spanish garage rap, dripping with nudity, sweaty bodies and male aggression.
Punishment is also done with an image.
Mr. Tudor,
I know that you like Depeche Mode, and that you go to see them multiple times when they are on tour.
1. Do you listen to specific albums and/or songs more frequently than others or do you like to go through the entire catalogue of songs by Depeche Mode before re-listening to one?
2. Do you habitually listen specific songs to during specific activities or do you enjoy switching to different songs on a daily basis? (Working out music or other situations)
3. Do you typically listen to just Depeche Mode or is your playlist more eclectic? (I know you’ve said for live music it’s Depeche Mode only, because you know their work so well and seeing them is worth dealing with the people.)
Thank you so much for your time. Much appreciated.
1. I listen to certain albums more often than others.
2. I listen to music when I work out, sometimes when I undertake certain types of work, when I undertaking my hygiene regimen, when I am driving, sometimes when travelling.
3. I listen to a variety of different types of music from different artists, this includes classical, choral, pop, EDM, techno, trance, rock and indie. The various artists are too numerous to list.
Thank you, sir.
1. Do you compose one genre of music more frequently than others?
2. What type of music do you prefer playing yourself, if on your own and playing an instrument is what you’ve chosen to do?
3. Does the genre of music you play/compose vary based on what instrument you are playing?
Thank you so much for your time! Much appreciated.
1. No.
2. Classical.
3. No.
Thank you, sir.
Have you ever written a song for your IPPS?
Thank you so much for your time! My appreciation as always.
No.
Thank you, sir.
Mr. Tudor–
1. If every time you entered a room for the rest of your life, the same song played in the minds of all others present…what song would you choose for them to hear?
2. If every time people came into your presence for the rest of your life they had to hear a song (different from the first, please), what song would choose for them to hear?
Thank you for your time! Much appreciated.
Imperial March from Star Wars.
True Faith by New Order.
Thank you, sir.
Mine are:
Wonderful Land by Mike Oldfield
The Power of Love by Frankie goes to Hollywood
How do you like these two songs?
The artists are both British 🙂
