I am super enjoying this. Thank you so much for this series.
I really enjoyed watching the way the others interacted with TOW.
Hilary was the least rude to her, even though she walked away.
“Do you think you could make me a senator?” “NO!” — I laughed.
Katie was the most obnoxious to everyone…but that’s to be expected, given her school/cadre.
Jolie was the nastiest to TOW (keeping it just between the two of them). I thought that might have been more about her psychopathy than her narcissism. She doesn’t have the same fuel needs–and she maintains her facade. Madonna was completely dismissive and didn’t mind others hearing it…but she was content not seeing the reaction of TOW or the others to her blatant rudeness. So it was more about control–I would guess.
I found the differences between Madonna and Jolie to be quite interesting. Madonna is far more bold in her rudeness to TOW and Price. Jolie agreed, but given her quite public sexual fluidity–maybe Jolie is looking for something else with Price. It’s interesting that neither of the greaters interacted with Clinton.
Not surprising that Amber and Katie were able to latch on to each other the most quickly. Limited intelligence and classless. (Not that Madonna showed classy behavior.)
Not funny. I only got about halfway through and switched off.
This is gratuitous and misogynistic. Especially so in relation to independent women who have earned their own living in male-dominated fields. It’s just more of the same-old same-old. Boring.
From experience, my working life was made extremely difficult because of sexist bullying and abuse like this.
The thing that stands out the most to me is the author(s)’s fixation on sex.
I think it would be more helpful and funny for many more people worldwide if this focused on the likes of very prominent male narcs who are making life extremely difficult for millions of people.
I should imagine that there will be numerous men (and women) who would maintain that their lives have been made difficult by these female narcissists. You seem to forget the in your haste to label this misogynistic.
Sex is important regarding these narcissists, after all, most of them are of the somatic persuasion (or did that point pass you by?)
I’m sure the Ukrainian and Russian mothers, wives and children grieving their sons, husbands and fathers couldn’t care less about Katie Price or the latest ex-footballer to have succumbed to Katie’s obvious charms. I don’t think they’ve even heard of Dwight Yorke either, and therefore would have no opinions about him abandoning his own disabled child.
I’m also pretty sure the parents in Gaza watching helplessly as their children grow thinner every day from preventable starvation are not contemplating the latest developments in Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s multi-million dollar divorce proceedings.
It’s safe to say that the doctors in Gaza hospitals are not ignoring the rationing of dwindling medical supplies due to being more interested in media puff pieces about TOW and Harry’s frozen todger. I think they’re too preoccupied with treating growing numbers of children who have lost limbs because of bombs that killed their parents and wiped out the rest of their families leaving their home a pile of rubble.
As for the population of Taiwan, I don’t think they’re waking up every day wondering where Amber Heard is now and which rich older male is indulging her whims. I think they’re more concerned about the looming threat of their country losing its sovereignty.
On a more serious note…
As you have advised, HG, the ‘holy grail’ for those being abused by narcissists is ‘no contact’. Once you know, you go. Get out and stay out.
The women who need to get out and stay out also need safe homes, trustworthy services, and the financial means to do so. They need to be able to earn a living if that is how they can be financially able to ‘get out and stay out.’
If the continuous narrative about women – in general – is that they are easy targets of male abuse in whichever arena they find themselves – in their own home; in the workplace; in economic situations; in policing and authority situations; in the media; in movies; in everyday discussions, etc – then where will they be safe from abuse when they “get out and stay out”?
This Narc Island narrative is fuelling more abuse towards women in general. It is making the Andrew Tates of this world feel justified in framing and displaying the certificates they paid for from Hustlers University.
I can’t… She just placed herself next to JK Rowling…
Not so long ago it was George Orwell. She came up with it on her own, out of nowhere and accepted her own nomination:
“If I am being accused of being in a “camp of rebellion” even remotely on a par with George Orwell, the author of ‘Nineteen Eighty-Four’, then I will happily accept the accusation.”
The absurdity of it — it was on the thread where she whinged about being forced to wear masks, not being able to be authentic and honest because of all the narcissists around her (and the narcissist(s) on the blog), she needed to hide under a mask. But then boom – the conclusion – she’s Orwell! Now it’s Rowling… How this grandiose mind works though.
You criticised Narc Island and Annabelle, both of whom you didn’t watch till the end but took the immediate opportunity to shoot out your critical opinion on both.
You wrote about Narc Island: “This is gratuitous and misogynistic. Especially so in relation to independent women who have earned their own living in male-dominated fields. It’s just more of the same-old same-old. Boring.”
But you didn’t applaud Annabelle for trying to be an independent woman with her own business.
On the one hand you defend independent narc women (Narc Island participants) who have earned their own living in male-dominated fields, regardless of how they did it and what impact it brought on society, but on the other hand you criticise an independent woman who sits in her little chamber and tries to make it in the psychic industry and has a different view on astrology (learning about it) than you.
Katie Price, Madonna with their grotesque depiction of woman’s sexuality and fixation on sex they based their careers on, making a whore like behaviour a trend which only supported sexist bullying and abuse towards women as it became popular and an expectancy to be sexy all over the place — is okay to your feminist logic, but Annabelle with her differing view on astrology — OFF with her head!
Got ya!…Something doesn’t add up.
Firstly, I didn’t say that it’s “okay” that women like Katie Price and Madonna base their careers on a “grotesque depiction of women’s sexuality and fixation on sex”?
Secondly, why do you think that somatic female narcissists would do that?
Thirdly, I would like to reply to the rest of your comment if and when HG does a Narc Island series that focuses only on prominent male narcissists. If HG does that, I would be very curious to see which male narcissists he chooses and the ‘lens’ he sees them through to describe them.
Also, I didn’t say anything like “OFF with her head” about Annabelle in relation to her views about astrology.
Jordyguin,
The ‘arguments’ you have made in your comment are, to me, black and white. It appears that you have read my comment without considering contexts or more nuanced details.
In relation to your comment about the depiction of women and women’s sexuality, it reminds me of a TV program I watched this week about the depiction of men and male aggression.
The TV program, Four Corners, is a weekly Australian investigative journalism type of documentary. This week, the program focused on the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship).
The UFC is an American-based mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion company that organises and promotes cage-fighting.
Four Corners focused its program on the way the UFC uses the fighters as poorly paid ‘appliances’, even though the promotion company has made billions of dollars around the world from promoting fights and selling tickets to events.
The fighters risk their short-term health and longer-term well-being while the UFC uses them as contractors. The fighters can’t make a living wage unless they continuously win fights and become well-known, which only happens to a small number of them. Meanwhile, every fighter needs to be well-trained and skilled in top athletic form. This consistent training and focus is costly and time-consuming for the fighters. In order to be contracted, they spend their own money, taking out loans if necessary, to train and hone their skills.
When the fighters get older and can’t compete and win, they often suffer debilitating health problems like brain damage, broken bones, torn ligaments and mental health issues to name just a few kinds of injuries. The UFC, which makes billions of dollars in revenue due to the fighters that fans come to watch, essentially abandons them to face their health problems alone.
(By the way, there are women UFC fighters as well, so it’s not a solely male sport. The premise of aggressively fighting an opponent is a male-based activity though.)
The UFC’s CEO, Dana White, is a good ‘friend’ of Donald Trump. The US president is a ‘fan’ of UFC and has been an avid audience member.
Dana White is also on the board of directors for Meta.
The UFC CEO has also been associated with the Tate brothers, inviting them to UFC matches and making them prominent ‘guests’ at televised events.
Jordyguin,
I think the UFC is a barbaric kind of exploitation of men and it disgusts me that this so-called ‘sport’ is so rampantly popular. It is being shamelessly and crudely promoted especially by targeting young men.
My views about exploitation are not solely centred on female exploitation. It bothers me also that men can and do get exploited as well.
“making a whore like behaviour a trend which only supported sexist bullying and abuse towards women as it became popular and an expectancy to be sexy all over the place”.
I have a bit different view of Madonna. When she started jumping on the stage with the cones on her breasts, I was a bit too young to comprehend it. But later, I understood what this was all about, at least I think so.
I like her, despite her being a narcissist. I wish she wins Narc Island, if it’s going to be finished.
To me, what she did is not to promote a whore behavior, she was promoting the fact that women also have sex desires, breaking the myth that women are monogamous and other society imposed norms, and that there is nothing wrong to want someone and show it, including the same gender. Women love sex, too, and they want to have it the way they prefer – I think was her message. I know gay people used to like her, I don’t know about nowdays. Lady Gaga probably replaced her. Maybe her provocations were sometimes over the top, but it was the only way to change mentality.
But I agree, there is a downside to it. Some men get it wrong. For example, a girl decides to “express herself”, feels sexy, wears a short dress and goes to a club. Does it mean she wants to be groped or raped? Absolutely not. Sometimes, a woman even doesn’t need a short dress to encounter such men. Recently, I was in Tokyo, me and my friend went to a dance club, where mostly foreigners go. We passed security, he went to bathroom, I was waiting and three wasted guys appeared, Europeans, surrounded me, screaming smth to me over a music, and one of them with a word “Kurva” hugged me, grabbed my bottom and was trying to kiss me on the neck. I was like : WTF, f..off and was pushing him away. Security man saw and intervened. They left, but it spoiled my mood, and I regretted I didn’t kick his balls. I was wearing black jeans, black top, belt and black leather jacket. Nothing “sluttish” to suggest anything. I just came to dance. And I’m sure every woman has experienced smth similar many times. I’m wondering if such behavior from men was before Madonna or not. Probably was, but not to the extent how it’s now. Maybe it’s not related to her even.
And I like some of her music, not my top musician, but still albums like confessions on the dance floor, MDNA, Amercial life. Love to sing in Karaoke or to dance to them. Masterpiece is my favorite of her songs. My daughter doesn’t know who is she though. She likes Billie Eilish etc, but she knows Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody, because everytime she is calling me: Mama, Mama, Mama, I would start to sing “just killed a man….”
Hi Lilu,
There is one thing I found out to be interesting about Madonna. When HG did the Blake Lively analysis about the incident with the Norwegian journalist Kjersti Flaa, I browsed through Flaa’s channel and clicked on a random video called “The celebrities we don’t want to interview again” she collaborated with a colleague. At one point they mentioned Madonna:
“I never interviewed Madonna yet it still could happen although I don’t know what the hell I’d want to talk to her about. Now I heard they had a press conference with her and someone at the press conference said “Oh my god I’ve admired you my whole life and you’re like such an idol” and she was like “Well, I feel really sorry for you.”
I like the truth of this statement. But I also like how HG did her in Narc Island. I don’t mind if she wins. I find them all amusing together. The parody and the purpose of it is just so excellent!
Those clubs, Lilu. A narcissists’ hunting grounds. Watch out.
Off with her head is an equivalent of you cutting off the interview right away, not even listening to it all but agreeing with Leigh that “she is full of shit” (“full of it” by your wording) because Annabelle didn’t fit in with your idea of astrology. Whilst Leigh at least provided some more examples from the whole interview and why she decided that Annabelle is a narcissist, you only cared about astrology and did a whole f*ckn lecture on it nobody asked for. Which didn’t answer HG’s specific and most important question AT ALL, remaining shady as it was, be it Annabelle’s explanation or yours.
Secondly, you didn’t say that: it’s okay that women like Katie Price and Madonna base their careers on a grotesque depiction of women’s sexuality and fixation on sex.
You worded it differently: “This is gratuitous and misogynistic. Especially so in relation to independent women who have earned their own living in male-dominated fields.”
You made a statement in defense of the so-called independent women who factually all profit from men, men audience, men contacts, using men, needing men in all fields in order to build their “independent” careers, including the somatic’s pathway of sexuality as a vehicle from their narcissist tool kit, depicting sex-absorption over and over again and manipulating men (and women) with sex and arranging their so-called independent careers on screen and off screen.
You accused and blame shifted on the author: “The thing that stands out the most to me is the author(s)’s fixation on sex.”
You accused the author by likening the series to abuse: “From experience, my working life was made extremely difficult because of sexist bullying and abuse like this.”
You invalidated and belittleted the author and his work: “Not funny. I only got about halfway through and switched off. It’s just more of the same-old same-old. Boring.”
You berated and lectured on what to do: “I think it would be more helpful and funny for many more people worldwide if this focused on the likes of very prominent male narcs who are making life extremely difficult for millions of people.”
You deflected, blamed, shamed and invalidated the author and his work by triangulating with Ukraine/Russia, Gaza, Taiwan, and you made the Narc Island responsible for women’s problems in the world and creation of abusers: “This Narc Island narrative is fuelling more abuse towards women in general. It is making the Andrew Tates of this world feel justified in framing and displaying the certificates they paid for from Hustlers University.”
You’ve triangulated and compared yourself to JK Rowling, to whom you can’t hold a candle: “I bet you wouldn’t suggest my ‘morality’ was defective if I happened to be JK Rowling…or maybe you would if I was JK Rowling before she became a famous millionaire who received an OBE?”
You threatened further morality postings and indicated on a “lens” through which HG would depict male narcissists in the series. As if he needs to watch out now and prove to you that he is a good boy who has listened and will do as you’d like to expect: “I would like to reply to the rest of your comment if and when HG does a Narc Island series that focuses only on prominent male narcissists. If HG does that, I would be very curious to see which male narcissists he chooses and the ‘lens’ he sees them through to describe them.”
You deflected from your original statement and rolled out a story from the bag of your stories which you like to push down people’s throats trying to reposition yourself and repair your facade of caring: “…it reminds me of a TV program I watched this week about… My views about exploitation are not solely centred on female exploitation. It bothers me also that men can and do get exploited as well.”
It didn’t bother you to begin with that men were and are exploited by female narcs who are depicted in the series. You solely attacked the author/men and defended narc females who are manipulators and abusers. It only dawned on you later on that your superficial morality display must be made equal after HG’s, Allison’s and mine comments.
Hello Jordy,
About Maddona. Yes, I can easily believe what was said about her. I have never been like a die-hard fan of her, but I did admire her in some sense till I have visited her concert. It was in Oslo, and it was close to her birthday, Aug 15. We had fanzone tickets, very close to the stage. I’ve been to many concerts and always prefer standing ones, cause I like to sing, dance, scream and jump. Plus the energy from people around you is amazing, invigorating (I think HG’s word). So normally, at concerts, as you know, there are warm up act. I don’t remember, but it’s either wasn’t there at all or it was too short. So then we were waiting in silence for at least 2 hours for her to appear. She was late by two hours!! And there was no announcement, so you don’t know when it starts, so you can’t leave (to buy a drink or bathroom), cause you don’t want to miss the beginning and possibly lose your spot. As I said, Ive been to many concerts and festivals, but it was the only time when I had to wait for so long. And when she finally appeared, she even didn’t say sorry. And the concert itself, I don’t know, something wasn’t right. It was too performative like a show, not about music. She was almost naked, topless at one point and though her body was great for her age (over 50, btw, her breasts were not two sacks, at least, back then) it was just felt not right. I can’t explain. I didn’t feel connection. It was like she didn’t care about fans, just doing her own thing on the stage. Plus her singing wasn’t impressive. I was very disappointed. I stopped being her fan after that, though I still like some songs of hers.
P.s. I’m currently swimming through those hunting grounds, actually. If I start to drown, I will call Personal Jesus, and hopefully, he would answer and save me. So all good. I’m having some fun. I need a distraction.
Your comment about Madonna made me think about her earlier songs. In particular the following part of your comment:
“To me, what she did is not to promote a whore behavior, she was promoting the fact that women also have sex desires, breaking the myth that women are monogamous and other society imposed norms, and that there is nothing wrong to want someone and show it, including the same gender. Women love sex, too, and they want to have it the way they prefer…”
When Madonna first appeared on the music scene, it was the early 1980s. At the time, I was in high school. I remember the first time I saw her on TV. It was on MTV which was popular at the time and it was her music video for the song ‘Burning Up.’
I vividly remember the way she was laying and crawling around on a road in various provocative poses while wearing a tight white dress and singing the lyrics:
I’m burning up, burning up for your love
I’m burning up, burning up for your love
Do you wanna see me down on my knees?
Or bending over backwards, now, would you be pleased?
Unlike the others, I’d do anything
I’m not the same, I have no shame
I’m on fire
At the time, this kind of obviously provocative behaviour along with the lyrics was something that stood out to me because other female pop singers were not this ‘out there’ in the same way. The suggestions of being “down on my knees” and “unlike the others, I’d do anything. I’m not the same, I have no shame” were not considered ‘mainstream’.
There was something more provocative about Madonna. She pushed the envelope and her writhing around on a road singing “I have no shame” was more like soft porn. It stood out at the time, mainly because it wasn’t something that was often heard or seen on mainstream TV.
Lilu,
I can see why you say that Madonna’s music and image made you think that her message was that “she was promoting the fact that women also have sex desires, breaking the myth that women are monogamous and other society imposed norms.”
The way I see it though is that ‘normal’ healthy women don’t think in ways like this about their sexuality:
“Unlike the others, I’d do anything
I’m not the same, I have no shame”
This is actually sending a false message to women and men.
I think Madonna was a pretty, charismatic young woman at the time and she captured a kind of iconic 1980s fashion and aesthetic. Her provocative songs were seen as cutting edge rather than desperate and tacky views of sex.
How many women do you know who would happily crawl around alone in the middle of a public road in a white dress pawing at themselves and singing those lyrics? Does that sound sexy to you? It sounds desperate and dangerous to me.
It’s also a message that caters to male sexual desire rather than women’s sexual desire. I think most men would like it if a desirable young woman came up to them in a tight white dress and said “Do you want to see me down on my knees? I’ll do anything. I have no shame.”
I think most men would think all their Christmases had come at once (haha this unintentional pun made me laugh).
The problem is that men saw women in that way and thought women actually would do that. Well, maybe a female narcissist would do that while in the golden period. Most normal healthy women who like sex and believe there is nothing wrong with liking sex would not do that though.
Maybe Madonna had to shock and provoke in order to hammer the message home that women had the right to enjoy their own sexuality. The way she did it though sent some very distorted messages that created problems. She may have changed people’s attitudes to female sexuality but the kind of attitudes she encouraged made things go in a direction that made attitudes worse in some ways.
Hi WiserNow,
You, actually, precisely expressed in words, what I was trying to say. “Pushing envelope”, “cutting edge”, “hammer the message” – love those phrases.
“Burning up”, I have just watched a videoclip. I haven’t heard or seen it before. Looks pretty innocent to me))) But I understand where you’re coming from. It looks like you probably haven’t experienced a burning desire and being on fire. I have. I can relate to song’s words. Well, if it makes me not “normal” and not “healthy”, so be it. I’m an Empath afterall, not Normal. Plus, if you have ever been entangled with a narcissist romantically, you know, a narcissist corrodes your self-esteem and does make you desperate/drives nuts. A victim is not herself and could do/say things, which later might regret and be ashamed of. Can normal person behave in “no shame” mode? Idk. And Narcissists for sure can. Probably Meghan, when approached Harry said smth along those lines you mentioned “Do you want to see me down on my knees? I’ll do anything. I have no shame.” We can see now where it has led him.
“The UFC is an American-based mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion company that organises and promotes cage-fighting.”
Your post is interesting and it made me think of applying it more directly to narcissism. It got me thinking about the brain, motivation, personality, etc. I find that MMA is a great and instructive distiller of people in the amateur and especially the professional realms.
Since learning more about narcissism I’ve been reviewing so many of my past relationships. My past thinking was that pro fighters were most likely narcissists because professional MMA is part of the entertainment industry and that industry calls to them. But I’m reconsidering. I used to know a male pro MMA fighter (he fought in a local promotion and in Bellator but knew Dana White and was trying to get into the UFC). Through him I became acquainted with some others, including men who enjoyed much success in the UFC. I was also neighbors with a female pro boxer. How they responded to losses, to really having the shit beat out of them in a devastating way, makes me think they were most likely normals, perhaps with narcissistic qualities they could tap into. I detect no empaths in the group.
These days ‘m leaning more towards normals and narcissistic people because of the amount of truth they have to face in the cage. Absorbing a Muay Thai kick to the liver would seem to be too much reality for an actual, pure narcissist. Not that they’re not in the ranks, but now I’m thinking the process of being in the fighting game and being prominent in it requires a level of honesty about oneself and actual ability that would be rare among narcissists, especially with most being mid range. I’m thinking a pure narcissist might not be able to fight through getting a real ass whipping; too many mental defenses. The false reality wouldn’t matter in the face of their record or an elbow to the face. If the trash talk and mental construct can’t be backed up with wins you’re not long for the sport.
It seems like situations like the UFC, Bellator, ONE, etc. would select against pure narcissists becoming successful as fighters. I suspect that any narcissists that do make it to the top would also have some other personality or mental disorder on deck as well in a significant way. Now, on the promotion and the business side that may be different.
You’re right–from what little I saw it’s a brutal, exploitative business. But in spite of the exploitation, there is something beautiful about a cheering throng watching a perfectly placed spinning wheel kick to the head or the breaking of an opponent’s will through a rear naked choke. It has a primal, gorgeous quality to it that I find irresistible. And the fighters I knew were lovely people overall, at least to me. Except when they needed to break someone.
My son is a boxer and into the martial arts since age 13. He boxes everyday. He loves his sport, books about it line his walls but he would be the first to say it is about “ the mind.” Of course you must be fit but he believes the best are of course fit and skilled in the sport like any sport but…. mentally strong. His military training was the same. Mental discipline.
The last people looking for a fight would be a professional boxer or MMA . They would be the most capable but the last to resort to fighting unless no other choice. I don’t think it makes them a narc, normal or empath it just makes them highly trained in the art/sport of boxing and MMA.
My son fought in Iraq. He is a trained killer. He is a Marine. My son has boxed since 13 and takes various MMA. He has a picture with Connor Mcgregor as he trained at his gym, the American gym run by vets. My son definitely relies on logic. But he is also compassionate, loyal, brave, humble, polite, hard working, thoughtful, charitable etc…. Even as a child he stood up to bullies …:for others and he got an award for it. Being part of boxing or UFC or MMA has nothing to do with narcissism. It’s a sport. End of. And you have a choice to not watch it.
Tonight I could watch documentary after documentary about war, famine, poverty ….or I could watch a silly comedy.
HG has a plethora of serious videos and articles and books …. but Narc Island was meant to be funny!
HG doesn’t need me to defend him. It’s HIS website, I am just a guest… like you. We can choose if we want to watch or not. But I think your statement about Narc Island being misogynistic like Andrew Tate or somehow harmful in anyway to women is harsh and unfair.
It’s like comparing Schindlers List to Lilo and Stitch. Or saying since Stitch looks like a Frenchie, the movie is causing people to purchase Frenchies and ignoring dogs at the pound leaving them to die. Bad people for watching LILO and Stitch and causing all those poor dogs to die. And for HG for orchestrating all the doggy deaths….
Your attempt at a causal link between Narc Island and Andrew Tate harming young men with his influence fails …. it is way beyond a FAR stretch and it is absent of any causal link whatsoever.
It is ok to chill, and laugh…:) not everything is meant to create societal change… bad or good. Funny can be simply funny and Narc Island is hilarious!
That’s why I shall happily wait for HG’s Narc Island series that focuses solely on prominent male narcissists in the world today. If the narcissists are prominent male narcissists in the current political arena, that would be even better.
If this was the case, I would be the first to watch, chill and laugh from start to finish.
I was looking for a place to be controversial and it’s about No Contact. Here goes. I get why No Contact is the BEST choice for a situation that will not change and to protect oneself…. But for me, I could not do it as I need to burn. I need to be in the flames and be able to not feel a thing. It must be true, absolute and pure. It must come from deep within. I need the light switch to switch off so that if he were to contact me in anyway shape or form, it would not cause me even a flicker. First I set a boundary. I said I will never live with you again and years went by. I meant it. I don’t waiver….but it wasn’t enough …. I needed to address the lingering emotions. I still had lingering feelings. So, Part of my trip that I took last month and this month was to go to London and Taunton to see my friends and to take a cruise but also to go to all of our favorite places and to face all the memories up close and personal. And they flooded me …but I got closure. I found that I was happy despite it all. I knew then and there, I didn’t need or want him ….not even a little bit. The light switch inside me closed. There is nothing he could do or say now that will ever change that! And I didn’t go no contact externally but internally. The door shut. I am not saying that no contact is wrong. It is the best choice…: but for me…. I had to walk through the fire and emerge. I had to feel the pain and stand before it. And it was not automatic. It took time. It was a risk. Perhaps and rightly so ….un-necessary ? but it was how I got free. Totally free. Un-shackled. And I know I will never go back. And I feel empowered. Weird but true. …
What do you have against men? Also, what field is Katie Price in that is male-dominated? Scratch that–what field is Katie Price in?
How is the series an example of bullying by HG? Can you expand upon what aspects of this connect to your own experiences at work? I’m assuming you mean bullying not among the contestants.
To me women tend to make the more terrible abusers. They don’t evolve past the high school clique. The relative physical weakness compared to men causes them to flock and then peck at you. With a woman everything is a novel when a tweet would do, which includes their bullying. I still like them, though.
I had to laugh about female bullies. When my children were little, my son had a fight with his best friend Simon and Simon punched him in the stomach. 5 minutes later they were laughing and running around together. Now that same day for some reason my daughter had a fight with her best friend, there were tears! I hate you! You aren’t my friend anymore! It took a whole week where they probably spoke to their other friends about each other before they patched things up! lol I know we aren’t supposed to assign stereotypes to children but this is what I saw. And yes I told the boys, we “don’t solve problems with violence in this house” and yes I told the girls that they “were missing out on the friendship through their pride” ….Narcs are 50/50 and in between. All sexes can cause harm. Narcissism is very democratic that way lol
But back to UFC or American football or any male or female sport that involves physical aggression… people love physical aggression in sports…it’s a knock out! or women or men in Hollywood or any entertainment promoting sexuality. Ummm the outfits, the music… the roles?? Sex sells.
Apples and oranges.
What does any of that have to do with Narc Island? It was meant to be comic relief. Sports are sports. Sexy is sexy. Sex sells. Watch a perfume or cologne commercial. You can be an empath, normal or narc in any of it. I don’t see the overall connections or harm in any of it. In fact, I enjoy aggressive sports and sexy songs and funny videos.
But I don’t like violence, war, bullying, hate or poverty ( unless it’s St Francis or Jesus choice of poverty).

It is about narcissists who happen to be female.
The degree and scale of ‘difficulty’ is relative.
WiserNow, careful about that moral high ground. The fall is steep.
Allison,
I bet you wouldn’t suggest my ‘morality’ was defective if I happened to be JK Rowling …
… or maybe you would if I was JK Rowling before she became a famous millionaire who received an OBE?
Allison,
I can’t… She just placed herself next to JK Rowling…
Wiser,
Somehow this confuses me…
You criticised Narc Island and Annabelle, both of whom you didn’t watch till the end but took the immediate opportunity to shoot out your critical opinion on both.
Jordyguin,
Firstly, I didn’t say that it’s “okay” that women like Katie Price and Madonna base their careers on a “grotesque depiction of women’s sexuality and fixation on sex”?
Jordyguin,
In relation to your comment about the depiction of women and women’s sexuality, it reminds me of a TV program I watched this week about the depiction of men and male aggression.
Hello Jordyguin,
“making a whore like behaviour a trend which only supported sexist bullying and abuse towards women as it became popular and an expectancy to be sexy all over the place”.
Hi Lilu,
Your comment about Madonna made me think about her earlier songs.
Hi, WN–
Hey Allison:
One more thing:
Hi Wisernow:
Hi Contagious,
Yes, it’s ok to chill and laugh. Absolutely.
That’s why I shall happily wait for HG’s Narc Island series that focuses solely on prominent male narcissists in the world today. If the narcissists are prominent male narcissists in the current political arena, that would be even better.
If this was the case, I would be the first to watch, chill and laugh from start to finish.
Hi Wisernow:
Hi, WN–
What do you have against men? Also, what field is Katie Price in that is male-dominated? Scratch that–what field is Katie Price in?
How is the series an example of bullying by HG? Can you expand upon what aspects of this connect to your own experiences at work? I’m assuming you mean bullying not among the contestants.
To me women tend to make the more terrible abusers. They don’t evolve past the high school clique. The relative physical weakness compared to men causes them to flock and then peck at you. With a woman everything is a novel when a tweet would do, which includes their bullying. I still like them, though.
