Kiss Me
The kiss is probably the pinnacle of romanticism from everything that I have observed. The couple who flirt with one another throughout the film in an attempt to create a will they or won’t they scenario, finally kiss and everybody smiles. The kidnapped child is finally reunited with his parents and is smothered in relieved kisses. The power of seduction that exists in that first kiss between a passionate couple which then leads to their love making. A kiss good bye on a steam filled railway platform. As ever, books and films have played their part in elevating the status of the kiss to near legendary status.
Like so much of what I do, the kiss is a weapon which I use to maximise the impact of my machinations. At the outset I shall use it to overpower you. You are unlikely to have much resistance to my overtures following my campaign of love-bombing but if there is any it will be obliterated the first time I kiss you. I have studied a thousand kisses. From Burt Lancaster and Deborah Kerr in From Here to Eternity to Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh in Gone With the Wind through to Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze in Ghost. I have viewed Audrey Hepburn jump from her taxi to kiss George Peppard in the rain in the film, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and the post-nuptial kiss between Prince Charles and Princess Diana. It is not just the famous kisses that have been subjected to my scrutiny. I have sat at railway stations and watched the greeting kiss, full of excitement and passion or the departure kiss which encapsulates longing. I have watched the almost frenzied and desperate embrace that arises from a man finally ensnaring his quarry in a nightclub after spending a couple of hours chatting her up. Whilst sipping from my drink in a restaurant I see hundreds of kisses between spouses, lovers, friends and acquaintances all delivered in different styles with varying emphasises. All of this knowledge is collated and stored ready for my use.
I have been told many times how good a kisser I am. I am blessed with full lips and therefore do not suffer the sometimes dispassionate affliction that can befall those who have lips of a thinner nature. From my observations I have learned to make my advance slowly, lingering just in front of the other person’s lips as I reach a hand up to cradle their neck and let my fingers lightly caress the back of their neck. My soft lips press gently against theirs and then I retreat slightly before advancing again and then retreating. I do this several times before allowing my mouth to press on to theirs and remain there as we lock our embrace, lips moving slowly together, each time moving a little wider until a tentative tongue gently probes and touches against hers. My tongue flicks back and forth as the embrace grows stronger. I can hear her low moan of delight and know that this approach is working. I reach another arm around her and pull her closer to me, bodies pressed against one another and now her mouth has opened wider, her own tongue almost battling with mine. I know that the tingle will be racing up and down her spine; I know that she will feel the churning in her stomach and that light headedness will be sweeping across her. I am well practised in the art of the seductive kiss and during our golden period I shall allow you to experience it often. I shall do it when we meet in my house at the end of the day, I will embrace you in that fashion when I lead you by the hand to our bedroom and I shall surprise you by grabbing hold of you in the lift and kissing you in this way.
What of course is all the sweeter about being able to embrace you in such a scintillating fashion is the fact that I will withdraw this marvellous kiss. You will take hold of me and push your mouth against mine only to find that my lips are set rigid and do not respond in the way you have been used to. There is no warmth or passion. You wonder where it has gone. The truth is that there was never any there to begin with. Like so much of what I do, it is an artifice purely designed to capture you and make the inevitable denigration all the more contrasting. I can see the confusion in your eyes as you try again to kiss me but the effect is the same. You look at me, eyes searching for an answer but I do not offer one. You ask me what is wrong and I look away and say that there is nothing wrong. I have a variety of responses which confuse you when you try to kiss me or expect to be kissed. When once I kissed you often and repeatedly I will reduce it to next to nothing. This reduction coupled with a lack of explanation has you flailing around for some kind of reason. You end up blaming yourself of course that is to be expected. I will do any or all of the following:-
- Remain tight-lipped when we kiss;
- Move my head so you kiss my cheek rather than my mouth;
- Put my hand up and block your advance;
- Hug you instead so that your kiss flies into thin air over my shoulder
- Just walk away
Where once my kiss was magical and uplifting, now it is cold or non-existent. You relished our passionate embraces and now you find yourself remarking how it is like kissing an automaton or a mannequin. I do not care. All I wish to achieve is your pained and hurt reaction to the cold front that I exhibit where once there was heat and passion.

Ah, youre no longer with him. Glad to hear as I was searching the Empath rule books and could find no evidence of having to go that far for you to display or prove empathy. Its enough he is a narcissist and all that entails never mind one with no teeth at his own doing. Perhaps HG has just not done an article thus far on that school or class of Empath and their dedication.
Kidding aside, given that they are known for sleeping around, my concern for you was that if his hygiene lacked in that area and he felt entitled that you should accept it, I wondered what other danger you could be in healthwise.
In future I hope that you accept more for yourself than someone who cares so little for himself narcissist or not. Im guessing you will have no issues with hoovering if on the initial hoover that you stipulate any further contact be based on a notarized report from YOUR dentist that he has been rigorously inspected, is in good oral health, and can grow back his own teeth.

Yes, he would shower but would never brush his teeth. I would constantly tell him to brush his teeth all the time, due to the over powering smell that would come out of him mouth. (he would get very angry) 🙁 I was playing the roll of mother, having to tell their son to brush!! He would brush, only when I reminded him. Being kissed was very gross at times. He was not like that when we first meet, but gradually I noticed he didn’t brush. I didn’t understand his behavior sometimes. Now he doesn’t have to worry about brushing at all. LOL Just use mouth wash, to clear the bad breath.
I have no words for this. I would rather stick a searing hot fork in my eye than kiss a mouth that was this full of bacteria. If you really knew or understood how downright gross this is.

My Narc recently got dentures, because his front tooth had fallen out. He’s only 43. (he never brushed his teeth) I remember him saying, he was going to look better when he got them. He said that in a very weird way, like it was only going to enhance his looks. Now, I realize it was for his own vanity. Well, two days into wearing his new set of teeth, he was feeling badly for himself! Bad decision, I guess!! The complaining never stopped, and I had to reinforce more sympathy. The “kiss” was never the same after that, because I can feel movement from the dentures. (weirdness) lol– Looking back at it, he should have taken better care of what he had, then he wouldn’t have lost his teeth or (his wife).

In reality, I used to hand out dental dams and condoms at AIDS awareness protests (it used to not be allowed to advertise them, even in windows of drug stores. My joke was not meant to offend anyone either but I certainly don’t feel and won’t feel ashamed for what I wrote. Taking sexual risks is an absolute gamble, hence my sarcastic joke. I do, however, have tremendous compassion for those that contract these types of diseases from a husband, wife or partner that they trusted.

Knowing a close friend who had to undergo treatment for HPV, it was absolutely traumatizing. Repeated burn treatments (with acid) in the affected area over a 2 month period that did not clear it up. She described it as feeling like she had a flame thrower on her privates for 24 hours straight until she could wash again. Her doctor ended up doing an outpatient surgery to remove the virus.
HPV is a virus that stays in your system for 2 years. If your immune system is the least bit compromised you’ll most likely get symptoms rather than have it go dormant.
It’s nasty ladies!! Statistics are very high that everyone who has sex has been exposed and/or a carrier at some point in their lifetime.
A test with a doctor would involve using vinegar along the skin in question and what manifests. Not a blood test.
I’m sorry about your friend Clarece. I can sympathize with people who have to deal with medical issues. I had a doozie when I was 19.
How is she doing now?
She is 110% back to normal and healthy but it sucked up about 6 months for her with doctor appts.
I actually came up with a T-shirt idea for her since it first happened around the holidays, which was “All I wanted for Christmas was a first date and I got this stinkin’ STD”. But then we decided that T-shirt would only be good for cleaning toilets and ovens.
In the heat of the moment not everyone is logically weighing that gamble though.

In my defense, as this is in reference to a conversation that happened a long time ago(months) that I started, the gluten/dairy free discussion was brought up in relation to healing from chronic pain and autoimmune disorders that are sometimes triggered from C-PTSD while being in a narcissistic relationship. (It is a well known co-occurrence now). It was narcissism healing related. I actually am actively healing from chronic physical pain and fatigue now, getting better too with time.

Hello E.B. and Sniglet!! What EB wrote is on point that it is all 100% HG. I think I read in one of your comments over the weekend that you have been on the site for about 3 months. If / when you have time, it is definitely worth your while to look back in the archives, especially during the first year 1/2 when HG was developing the blog and it was before email and phone consultations became available. You will find a lot of interaction with readers, who like EB says, when they first come on here and are typically in crisis mode (me included), there is a lot of HG’s perceptions and advice that are golden to have. He is spread thin now with the blog, book writing, YouTube videos, email consults, phone consults, live streams, a day job and a personal life.
What is always an interesting comparison is when he still referred to himself and readers addressed him as Malignant Narcissist like he was some alien entity visiting Earth. Watching him evolve with his personality and sense of humor with the readers over time and being HG, really humanized him.

I have seen many differences. You are increasingly gaining valuable insight into your behavior, what patterns you display, and why you behave a certain way.
It is not easy to analyze oneself with the precision by which you do so. I am borderline and i do not know why i do what i do – why i cry, why i’m so sensitive, why i sometimes create drama if i need attention (i know, i know it’s childish- didn’t even realize i was doing it until someone pointed it out on the blog).
You know v well how your behavior affects others. You have much cognitive empathy, especially after gaining perspective frm empaths here (though not all here are empaths).

When I first came here I went to the beginning. I read the comments, yours held malice, contempt, and venom. This was not in what or how you were writing, you have always been respectful and polite, it was the emotion (energy) behind them.
Your words still hold this, yet more in the background now. Only coming to the forefront when you are getting irritated. Which is very impressive in your control and redirecting of it. Not letting it dictate how you respond.
This is but one area I have seen change with you. Now I do believe when you unleash this it is a sight to see….
There is much more to you then what is seen, it is not my place to reveal that what you must discover on your own. I agree with what you said, when I first came on the web site I started reading from the beginning and noticed the length of responses tapered off as the amount of participants increased. I chalked it up to him juggling a lot of balls in the air, going along with what you said. There seems to be a Natural ebb and flow. An impressive amount of dedication, creativity and thought go into all that he does, but I don’t see a different person. Just a more improved version.

What is different now too and I know it is because HG is spread thin, but the time for him to moderate comments with more thought provoking questions takes longer. I have indeed read HG’s earlier and present blogs (in fact quite a lot – don’t let 3 months fool you – I am fast) and as you just pointed out, if HG has evolved and his awareness has developed through the help of doctor consultations then it would be fair to conclude that his writing style has changed even to the point that I was/am not quite sure if it is the same person responding. You may say it is him – and I suppose I could trust yours or others’ word. But I am not going to say that because I don’t know all of the details of people’s true knowledge of a person on the internet. In any event, HG made a comment with words to the effect of that if he is away he may get his brother to reply to comments or perhaps administer the site?! So with that little bit of information of-course my beliefs could rightly be justified.
I don’t care either way because I am Switzerland in all of it (ie neutral). I am having fun and I appreciate the knowledge imparted none the less. It is incredibly invaluable to many people. I had plenty of free time (when I found this blog), so I read it from the beginning also. Yes, the changes of writting mannerism and approach to readers are pretty distinctive and positive. The quality of content emproves with “every day”. And Tudor became more daring and open. Awesome!
What I find not “convenient” on this blog is an “uncategorized” status of posts. Sometimes, I want to re-read something and I don’t know where to find it.
It would be very helpful, if all post were categorized into particular sections – for example – “Narcissistic dynamic in general”, “Schools”, “Cadres”, “Empaths”, “Discard”, “Hoover”, etc. etc.
The “categorization” would be very helpful not only for “old readers”, but for “new readers” also. Many people come here having particular problem (silent treatment, devaluation, infidelity, divorce, etc.) and it would be very helpful for them to have an “immediate access” to valuable information they need exactly.
The categorisation is happening more if you look at more recent posts and some of the older posts are being catalogued too.

My ex wasn’t really into kissing. I think the only time we ever kissed passionetly was in the beginning. He did kiss me goodnight and good morning everyday though which is a must for me.
In the beginning of our relationship my ex sent me the song “are you going to kiss me or not”. I would listen to that song over and over…ugh. I was such a fool.
I like lip kissers. Using the lips is more important to me than having a tongue in my mouth. It has to build up to this and it is not done in a span of 90 seconds.

I found it interesting how you watch people kiss hg. I know its mentioned repeatedly how narcissists study emotions and actions and copy it but to watch people kissing and replicate it really illustrates that.
I think the narcs art of giving and taking away is passive aggressive anger coming out. They build it up sky high so they have leverage thru taking away. By rejecting their partners advances it is their way to punish and relieve that anger pent up. They want someone to pay for how they feel so what better way than to take something away that person really loves. A kiss is one of the most intimate acts and to refuse that is a slap in the face. Its a way to hurt that person and make them feel emotional pain and unworthy. It also messes with their self esteem. Instead of working thru problems its easier for the narc to punish them and make them pay by retreating. Very passive aggressive behaviour indeed!
I know you were speaking to HG but you are so spot on. (in my mind) My daughter always says her dad, my ex, is passive aggressive. He would never argue with me, he would just go out to the back yard and pull weeds or sit in front of his computer. I used to do things just to piss him off so he would fight with me. He never would. The last picture I deleted of the narc was of him laying on my bed naked, lips all full and puffy from kissing me so long and hard. That was the best night. The only time he withheld kissing from me was when he told me he had a cold sore that he got from his wife and he couldn’t kiss me. (I knew he was lying) He said we could have sex but no kissing. I declined. Sex without kissing is nothing to me. When he walked out my door, I got the silent treatment for 3 months. It was not the first time. God! 1. Lust is caused by testosteron and estrogen (high levels).
2. Attraction (falling in love) is caused by adrenaline (high level), dopamine (high level), serotonin (low level).
3. Attachment (bonding) is caused by oxytocin and vasopressin (high levels).
Sooo, increase serotonin, decrease dopamine and oxytocin levels and you’ll be “free”?
By the way, Prozac (and other antidepressants) has “love and bond killer” side-effect. But, getting rid of love feeling, you have a high risk to become a “hater” instead. I doubt that other members of your family (especially kids) and friends would be happy to see this side-effect.

You are correct about the chemicals associated with the various aspects of animal bonding and sex. I think the other side of it is that our cognitive process also impacts how those chemicals impact us as well, from what we have learned from past love experiences too. It’s all so complex. I do like your train of thought though with neurotransmitters and hormones. We are creatures of biology and behavior.

Hi NA, no I don’t think he’s capable of feeling it , unless the theory that some experts have that the emotions are still there if they can be tapped back into but I don’t think even the experts have a complete answer for NPD because others believe there is a genetic component and as HG is also possibly a psychopath there is evidence their brains are different. However they do know right from wrong and certainly HG does . I think it’s possible he may try to operate in a less destructive and different way. This will still be all about him and not about others but if he finds the results work then he may go further down that path. I think even HG knows that having to keep going through this seduction and break up can’t go on forever and must be exhausting for the narcissist as well. They are never at peace never settled or happy. Whether he will ever feel truly be in love with someone and feel content with that person I doubt it. I do think however that he could choose a partner that had an awareness of this . He’s definitely mellowed ever so slightly from when this blog first started . I’m sure no one would choose to be a narcissist, life is hard enough without mental health problems . Narcissism is his safe place of control . But he is not a good person lets not lose sight of that. But the work he’s doing on this blog and his books is good work , and I admire his patience and politeness and knowledge and writing that he is doing for us. I do not however admire how he treats people outside of this forum . I think his thinking has already altered very slightly .

I see that from a good logical business standpoint he has just become more responsive to his audiences needs and wants, which is a gain to him in furthering his own aims. I was envisioning radium girls and how they were told to “point” the brushes with their lips. Lip liner. Those ladies were told it was harmless paint. I do believe a little “dark” humor is with in us all. Some more then others.

This is how he got me with that first kiss and the ones that came after that. On our first date, in the middle of dinner, in a restaurant full of people, some of them I knew. Completely unexpected and in front of other people that knew me and I wasn’t sure if I was embarrassed or excited or oh my God that was amazing. I remember it well and still miss how he kissed me! I understand this. I too watch and am told I am great at it but I feel nothing. It is a tease and/or precursor to sex and well…pretty much expected. When I see it in movies and especially if I can HEAR it I am repulsed and annoyed. Body parts no problem, but kissing is too intimate and cuddling restrictive. Haha, I just caught myself making a face.

Nope. Just playin the game. I admit that everytime Id think this time I will feel something but all I ever felt was the intensity of the return (so power I guess). What I didnt know then was that they were acting too, until I noticed distraction on occasion. Once I opened my eyes and he was expressionless looking out the car window but his lips were oh so engaged. That made me wonder. Now of course HG has cleared that up. But the smell and heat coming off of a mans neck has caused me some excitement. Like electricity.

Narc I was with delivered such brilliant passionate kisses. Now I know it’s from all that observation and practice and of course lack of emotions means better practical delivery. So sad that it all meant nothing to him.
Even after discard he still gave me the best goodbye kiss. Sigh. As for my other ex-narc, he could not kiss, at all. Never had a single kiss from him all the years with him. Funny, I actually prefer Hush to this. I want what entices them.. What truly excites them. If a kiss is just a machination, regardless of how good it is, then what purpose does it serve? If I cannot feel their passion in the kiss, then I will try something else. My narcs did not like kisses either, I could tell. So I stopped kissing them on the lips.
I want to please too but I have my boundaries. If there’s no passion in the kiss, they end up losing my interest. JN came thru the door and it was like a tsunami. It’s hard to grasp that it’s always fake. I have kissed other Narcs who were very robotic. It was never that with JN.
