  1. Insatiable Learner says:

Thanks so much, HG! I have Sitting Target and will read it again!

  2. Insatiable Learner says:

HG, when the narc and I first met, he told me, “Just be yourself, I will do the same.” How ironic looking back! What do you think he was actually saying? Thank you!

    1. HG Tudor says:

“Just be yourself, I will be you too.”

      1. Insatiable Learner says:

OMG!!! As time went by, I kept telling him that the more I get to know him, the more connected I feel, like we agree on so many things, see things the same, and it’s like a breath of fresh air. So all of that was fabricated? How did he know? How was he able to figure it out? He never even asked me about me. I was the one sharing and asking him.

        1. HG Tudor says:

          See Sitting Target.

      2. ava101 says:

“Be yourself. All other selves are already taken.”
        Oscar Wilde

        1. HG Tudor says:

          Yes, by us.

      3. ava101 says:

🙂 Haha, thank you for making me smile. And I daresay that Oscar Wilde knew something about Narcissism, too.

        1. HG Tudor says:

          I agree.

  3. Oh, Thank you so much, HG!

    1. Blank says:

Don’t you agree that only John Cleese would know that? 😉

      1. HG Tudor says:

He learned it phonetically, he didn’t actually know what it meant.

      2. Blank says:

Yes, I read about it. I had to Google of course, to see if you were right. After all you’re a narc, you could fool me, and I’m a truth-seeker 😁. I like ‘the Prayer’, there are different versions of the poem, I saw.

Btw, I checked if you could be Terry Jones, the dark voice matches, but I read he has dementia and I guess that couldn’t make him as sharp as you are. If I was British, I would definitely find out who you are 😊

        1. HG Tudor says:

You would try but you wouldn’t succeed.

      3. Blank,
Yeah, I would have like to think that.
But he is an actor. Should have known, In school, they taught us songs phonetically in chorus, in french and english. And of course, in the 80’s a popular song was 99 Luftballons, Available in english, but everybody sang the german version. Probably caused fits whenever a german heard americans mangling that song!

      4. Blank says:

I’ll take that as a challenge HG. Just wait and see.
(I bet your Cortisol levels start rising now..)

Perse, I like that song. Also Nena’s “Irgendwie, Irgendwo, Irgendwann”, that has a line: “Liebe wird aus Mut gemacht”,, Love is made of courage… Isn’t that true?

    2. HG Tudor says:

      Pleasure.

      1. Tappan Zee says:

Is quoting poetry and prose a narc thing? My grandmother would all. the. time. it was usually spot on stuff (oh what a tangled web we weave for ex) but the tempo and vacant way she would quote shakespeare, or french, or whatever rung hollow. and in a way very cutting but delivered with the appearance of piety. i am not sure how to describe it.

My nexs fav poem was kiplings if. I loved it too. he had it written all over. memorized. my grandmother (i’ve dx her a narc) would quote the same damn things (triumph blah blah imposter..) it’s eerie that narcs may use literature, and the same ones at that, to promote the facade. it seems so deep and meaningful on one hand. yet the delivery is off. no heart felt sentiment, no emotion.

weird to reflect on that. it was like murder with no remorse. using words (you have said how easy and low energy required it is to use words) to create and maintain a facade. and quote really deep stuff. only to reveal how shallow you (they) are..

        1. HG Tudor says:

Yes because we appropriate the words of others to either claim them as our own or whilst it will be clear the words belong to another, our inability to empathise emotionally means we have to appropriate the words of others to convey the feelings we do not have but understand how they are described. It is also a trait of grandiosity.

  4. Blank says:

I did some deciphering and I came to the conclusion that you could be John Cleese… (am I close? :))

    1. HG Tudor says:

      No.

      1. Blank says:

Damn! Not that you ever would admit if you were 🙂

    2. John Cleese!!
      ROFLMAO!
      That would be just……Fantastic!
“He reminds me of a younger John Cleese! So who would we pick to play him on the big screen of his epic biopic?!”

      1. But I do love me some John Cleese speaking Russian!

        Decipher That!
        (I’ll bet YOU can, HG!)

        1. HG Tudor says:

At times of life most difficult, should happiness depart, there is a prayer miraculous, that I repeat by heart.
A force of pure beneficence, those living words enwreathes, Unknowable, its deep and precious, beauty in them breathes.

My doubting spirit changes hue, its burdens fall from sight— ,and it believes, and weeps anew, and is so light, so light…

  5. Blank says:

Right.. it took me about 7.002.000 hits on this page to decipher 😉

  6. Nuit Étoilée says:

Dearest HG, with your incredible voice, any chance of you doing audio versions of your books? 😉

    1. HG Tudor says:

      Yes.

  7. Ohh, you are SO close to 7 million. Wow!
