OMG!!! As time went by, I kept telling him that the more I get to know him, the more connected I feel, like we agree on so many things, see things the same, and it’s like a breath of fresh air. So all of that was fabricated? How did he know? How was he able to figure it out? He never even asked me about me. I was the one sharing and asking him.

Btw, I checked if you could be Terry Jones, the dark voice matches, but I read he has dementia and I guess that couldn’t make him as sharp as you are. If I was British, I would definitely find out who you are 😊

Yeah, I would have like to think that.
But he is an actor. Should have known, In school, they taught us songs phonetically in chorus, in french and english. And of course, in the 80’s a popular song was 99 Luftballons, Available in english, but everybody sang the german version. Probably caused fits whenever a german heard americans mangling that song!

Is quoting poetry and prose a narc thing? My grandmother would all. the. time. it was usually spot on stuff (oh what a tangled web we weave for ex) but the tempo and vacant way she would quote shakespeare, or french, or whatever rung hollow. and in a way very cutting but delivered with the appearance of piety. i am not sure how to describe it.
My nexs fav poem was kiplings if. I loved it too. he had it written all over. memorized. my grandmother (i’ve dx her a narc) would quote the same damn things (triumph blah blah imposter..) it’s eerie that narcs may use literature, and the same ones at that, to promote the facade. it seems so deep and meaningful on one hand. yet the delivery is off. no heart felt sentiment, no emotion.
weird to reflect on that. it was like murder with no remorse. using words (you have said how easy and low energy required it is to use words) to create and maintain a facade. and quote really deep stuff. only to reveal how shallow you (they) are..
Yes because we appropriate the words of others to either claim them as our own or whilst it will be clear the words belong to another, our inability to empathise emotionally means we have to appropriate the words of others to convey the feelings we do not have but understand how they are described.It is also a trait of grandiosity.
